Are you sure about the tyre pressure? I feel that is too low and can be risky for riding.

For wet conditions in monsoon, riding with low tyre pressure is good as it gives more contact area which results in more traction. keeping it below 2-3psi than recommended gives safe braking and less skidding on wet surfaces.

Pulsaroid is right. Lower pressure is beneficial for grip. Follow the manual. 25, 25 is what's written. That's what i follow

I have completed 290km on my Hornet and also completed its first servicing (I was out of station thats why i had to get it serviced with less kms covered). I will be travelling approx 350kms tomorrow, it will be on a highway. I need guidance on how to ride as its still in break-in period. Till now i have not crossed above 4k rpm.
I read "Avoid riding at one constant engine speed, whether fast or slow, for a long period of time" , here long period refers to how many kms?

              Thanks
I bought my bike for highway commuting daily. Since the break in period, first 500kms, I have been riding at a constant 50 speed on the highway for 70kms daily. Only reduction in speed was during turns. After 500km, I used to raise and lower speed from 80 to 40. Don't worry, nothing will happen if you go on a long trip. Mine still gives me an average of 45-50, even when i constantly ride it at 80-90kms

              New Issue today
Left turn switch is kaput. I guess my use of the bike is excessive LOL.
              Will get it changed tomorrow

You are mistaken and it is absolutely bizzare to ride with low pressure. Riding on low pressure results in wearing out of the tyre and can result in blow out while riding the bike.

Why would the tyre manufacturers recommend to keep the correct pressure all thru the year.

Avoid such practice to be safe then sorry.

If you need more grip, go for a softer compound tyre. Do not ride with low pressure. Ride quality goes for a toss.

I fill 30/32 in my bike which lost for more than two weeks to depressurize to around 24/27.

Here in Hyderabad, people fill 35 /40 by default in all two wheeler.

Riding with low air pressure can also result in hydroplane effect while riding over water clog at good speed and more prone to puncture. Recommend to use the tyre pressure as per user manual, may be 2psi more in cold weather.
                      slow down.

                          Hi all

I have been following this forum for some time. I actually made purchase based on peoples experiences shared on this forum. So i wanted to share my purchase but felt little lazy. Anyways my bike has done first servicing @950 Km. I purchase my bike form Ananda Honda from Bellandur, Bangalore.
From my previous experience of Pulsar 150 @2006 model and during investigation of this purchase i have realized basic maintenance can be done at home. So, prior to purchase i planned some supplies and avoided any accessories from showroom. What I did Auto wax protection by myself, i have filled my Tyre with slime Tyre sealant. I think this are basic things to be done when bike comes out of showroom.
Rest, upto first servicing i avoided driving above 40 kmph and 4000 rpm. I admit its slow but i was favored with 58 kmpl average. Which is 3 km above company stated ( i felt top of world ).
Until now i have been using Motul benzene additive in petrol @3.5ml per liter. This has smoothed and boosted my acceleration quiet high. Also it doesn't affected efficiency at all.
After servicing my bike has became more smooth. There was idling issue which has been rectified and chain has been tighten.
Now my bike has finished 1000 km, So my ride style has become more punchy. Average i got for last refill was about 56 kmpl. Which i think is decent considering the driving style.
As the next servicing is at 3000 km. i have decided to do basic maintenance at home i.e clean and lube chain, lube all moving joint like lever etc, wash and wax.

Also im planning to install TPMS from steelmate, and fog lights. As im planning for long rides in near future.

Dont know about others..but thiz solutions tends to get dry when time passes..like say 1 years ... Which make tyre life minimal..as it gets sticks to ture walls...
