Guys, Got my hornet yesterday. It is indeed a awesome machine.. Right now riding below 4000 RPM and keeping the speed limit till 50 KMPH. Switching gearup at 4000 RPM.

Can somebody point out as how i need to identify when the bike is going to reserve.

The SVC guys said do not speed up abruptly apart from it there is no such restriction. So, guys can you comment is my RPM and speed limit is fine for run-in period.

          Cheers!!!

Yes Many things madat before 1st Service.

                    1) Keep the Riding limit till upto 40-50 kmph for good mileage in present and future

                    2) Dont give the bike to your friends till 1000 km, let the engine be free, try to keep the bike one hand use as possible

                    3) Dont try to shift the gears to much harder and shift it as per the speed, as when the bike is new gear box would be bit harder then the normal used one

                    4) Try to Kick-start each day in morning

                    5) And for first service either you can give your bike to Service from the date of purchase or onto Kms whichever is earlier, i generally prefer kms wise.

Your riding rpm limit is perfect during the run-in period.
Regarding the reserve... after the indicator bilinks you can still go ~ 30 km before you switch it to reserve mode.

I have stopped buying ACI because I read bike reviews here and car ones on T-bhp. Its a good magazine - enjoyed it cover to cover. What did they say about Hornet 160 R ?

When you meant indicator, you are talking about the Fuel tank symbol correct ? (sorry for being a noob).

So, first the last fuel line will blink and then fuel symbol will blink? Am i correct here?

The last fuel line will start blinking. That is the point where your bike shows reserve. But the bike actually can be ridden for about 30-40km before you get the familiar running out of fuel jerking.

I had similar problem. They changed the O ring 2 times but that did not stop the leak. Finally they replaced the neutral switch then it stopped leaking. But I have to wait for 2 weeks to get this done as the neutral switch was not available. They ordered and got me one.
