The showroom guy was saying he wont be giving a Temp. Number, Just a sticker as "For Registration". He is saying its not a problem if u ride within the city. Temp. Number is only for people taking out of the city and you have to pay 5% tax on hand.

Planning to take the bike with registration in a week time.

No, insurance is done and road tax is paid as soon as vehicle rolls on road as i know multiple vehicle purchase experience. Check the starting date of insurance of new vehicle and it starts with the data on which it's purchased.

Therefore onroad price includes ex-showroom price of vehicle, insurance and road tax. Vehicle is bought on onroad price, you can not buy at ex-showroom price.

Think of a case when a new vehicle without insurance does damages to third party, in this case how the third party can be compensated. For this reason insurance is most for any vehicle, even if it's parked state for sell or at garage, at minimum third party insurance is needed to be done. Otherwise it will be illegal to ply on road and will be subjected to fines if caught.

Vehicle can not be sold in new or used without insurance.

I have doubt in your cousin's case, it would be insured for sure at the showroom, he may not have the insurance copy as vehicle is new though it's provided as copy during purchase, please contact him and update us. It could cost him very minimal as depreciation is very less for new vehicles.

The TR number is provided without any extra cost. Contact their sales manager or higher authority if they are not providing it for free.

I have not noticed it, a humming sound comes when accelerator is released, it's called engine breaking.

Are you referring sound which comes when speed is lower than recommended for a gear, after which engine stops? If so you need to switch to correct gear.

No it is kind of jerking noise I am suspecting clutch basket cushions have hardened.

Hi. is it so? Never faced it on my Unicorn though. Also this is not just about the speedbreakers, on roads which are not properly laid also. There is a kind of sound as if something is hitting from below. Specifically while riding doubles only. Will get it checked at the service center tomorrow and then update you all. Whatever be it, this sounds feels so irritating on a new bike. Honda should have taken care of such small things.

The middle stand had become a little loose on my Unicorn (not the older Unicorn, I've the 160), so that added to the problem. Now there are no issues.

I have ordered my orange Honda hornet yesterday and am eagerly waiting for Thursday to take my ride for a spin.

One thing is I made the whole payment via netbanking. So I don't have any receipts for my payment. I received a SMS confirming the money is deposited. When I call the showroom, he is saying only finance will have an idea but no issues as bike is already allocated to u.

Will there be any problem because of this?

Is there any update on the switch gear update and the engine kill switch?
                  is this bike vibe free?
What is the service interval of this bike?

No confirmation for switchgear updation yet. Though we all Hornet n Unicorn owners are doing a lot of fun without engine kill switch I assume. For vibration till 60 or 65km/h u'll not feel anything and it's very smooth ride whereas post 6k rpm you can definitely feel vibration on the handle bar. 1 month or 700 km for 1st and 6000km or 6 months for the 2nd service. Thereafter every 6 months interval or +6000 kms as mentioned in the manual.

You would not be in trouble most likely but visit them and take a acknowledgement or money receipt. Make sure it was done on the showroom company account, not to any body else.

Typically you should have paid only the booking amount and remaining amount on the delivery day via IMPS. It's risky to pay the full amount without getting bike, it's around 7 days to your delivery date.

Yes...noise from the chain is very common especially for new bikes. Apart while the chain gets loosened it touches the sprocket plate and gives a metallic sound too. Better to go to the svc and they will lube the chain and tightened it if necessary. Mine had the same prob but they fixed it by tightening and lubing and i can't find any noticeable sound from the chain for past 800kms.

It is common for most of the bikes with naked chain.just lubricate it regularly it will be smooth but some sound will still be there. It is a poorly done paint job visible on most hornets
