I was thinking of putting the CBR250 switchgear onto my bike. Consulted mechanics at top gear Honda world, they said it can be done. Only problem, the CBR250 switchgear costs 1900 only for the right side.

It will void warranty.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostI was thinking of putting the CBR250 switchgear onto my bike. Consulted mechanics at top gear Honda world, they said it can be done. Only problem, the CBR250 switchgear costs 1900 only for the right side.
Also the cbr switchgear is very costly. If you really want an engine kill switch check compatibility with other bikes like fz and gixxer, they may be cheaper and would look good on hornet.

Bought it from a spare parts shop. It is of Unicorn 160 I think. the one from fz was not a perfect fit.Originally posted by appsvasan View PostFootrest is good how did u get it I installed fz foot rest in my hornet
Did you get it welded? Mine was a direct fit

Clutch setting is quite simple there shud be free play of 1 to 1.5 cm of clutch lever .Regarding Honda throttle oil when I poured into my bike I felt like clutch was slipping and pickup droped though engine was not heating up and the grinding noise after releasing throttle has increased a lot.I switched back to stock oil now it is ok OK.Originally posted by Zeit View PostBro very true.
Just recently i serviced my bike from Pilot chembur.
They r experts in activa.
After service feedback -
My front coneset making noise.
Clutch setting apathetic. I literally miss gears. Altho i had warned them not to fiddle with my clutch setting.
Pick up drop. Altho Honda throttle oil is doing a good job
When i told them the snags .. they wer like -- SirG chalta hai. Achi toh chalri hai.
I said. Boss I m riding my bike for 5000kms now post first service. So i know how my bike shud behave and how it is behaving after ur service .
Totally appalling. I just convinced myself to do the servicing from my good frnd who is a mechanic. Who personally owns r15s and duke. He does the job better.
I m done with SVC fellows now.
Ride safe bro.
Regarding headlamp just adjusted it little down to focus and now it is fine to ride at night. I am getting FE of 52 and bike has clocked 900 kms.
I have noticed that chain become loose only when I push The bike above 80 .Bought rolon chain spray for 120 and its lubricate the chain well without spattering.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hey All, I just bought a Sprint Blue colour CBHornet 160R CBS about a week back. I am facing certain issues and not sure if this exists in all the bikes.
1. When the headlight is on and the engine is revving, the light glows brightly and when kept at idling, the light dims down. This is specifically a problem when driving during the night and whenever there is a gear change at slow speeds.(Not seen this problem in any bike, even in my old Unicorn)
2. I get a sound from the chain as if it is loose when i press the clutch. This happens mostly when i start to ride the bike bike after keeping it idle for some time. Like in the morning when going to office and again when starting to come back.
3. While driving doubles and when we go on a speed braker(even a small one, as we see the plastic ones in malls), there is a sound as if something is hitting in the below. Not sure if this is the main stand hitting them or something else. And I believe it is not the main stand as i see that the bike has a very good ground clearance.
Other than these initial driving experience is very good.

I too use rolon sprayOriginally posted by souravvr View PostClutch setting is quite simple there shud be free play of 1 to 1.5 cm of clutch lever .Regarding Honda throttle oil when I poured into my bike I felt like clutch was slipping and pickup droped though engine was not heating up and the grinding noise after releasing throttle has increased a lot.I switched back to stock oil now it is ok OK.

900 kms is less bro. I have ridden 6000kms. U poured throttle before first service,??
Dont do that. Coz engine is new. Throttle is FS oil so i will b thick with high lubrication. New engine needs some wear and tear. Using that oil MAY cause parts not coming in proper contact.
I wud personally suggest to go for throttle oil at your second service

Hi bro. If u use mineral oil then replace every 2500 kms.Originally posted by vaRider View PostHi Nilyaen,
Yes, you're right. After 6500 RPM, engine starts making very harsh noise. It persists till 8000 RPM. Between 70-90 kmph.
I assume that's powerband of Hornet, that's why. Better stick to 60-65 kmph or cross 85 kmph. Otherwise, bike vibrates a lot.
After 90 kmph, Hornet makes boom type deep sound, which isn't unsettling like harsh noise.

Hello all riders!
On what intervals you replace/refill engine oil? My dipstick indicates near to minimum level oil.
Does riding at higher speeds (60-90) reduces oil level faster? In general my avg speed above 40, mainly highway riding.
Currently my chain slackness is about 3.5 cm and manual says it should be between 1.5-2.5 cm. How much will it cost at service center?
Peace!
Chain slack should be 2 cms max. Or else it gives jerks.
Chain tight u can do at local shop. Rs.30 to 40 max.
I maintain speeds of 60 to 65. Awesome mid range. Post 70 to 84 exact or 6500rpm. It feels ruff.post that it just shoots to 105

Hi bro. Nomadic aka sidOriginally posted by nomadic View PostYou have perfectly described a nightmare that I am expecting at any Honda service center. It is sad that they have tampered with your bikes clutch setting and spoilt the whole joy of riding the bike. I do not know what is the front coneset? How is it making noise now?
How much does the Throttle Honda Oil cost? Is it better than the regular 10w30 Honda oil?
Good you have decided to do away with the service centers. In my opinion most of them are newbie mechanics hired locally who gain experience through trial and error basis on the customers bike.
I am so skeptical that I don't even want to do the first service from any of the dealers. Is it advisable?
My bike is running perfectly fine. And I don't want them to tamper or fiddle with the stock settings.
Hi souravvr. Bro .clutch setting is not merely the adjustment. It also about timing. I dont know in-depth about it. Put the free play and timing matters a lot. If u want i can check with my mechanic .
Nomadic bro. Coneset as in the front part makes sound when i go thru a pot hole or even a speed breaker. Its very annoying. ;(
Honda throttle 10w30 use it only at ur second service. It costs rs.696.
Till then use mineral 10w30.
Go for svc for the free service checkups. I know they not that good but have no option. I have a mechanic friend whom i give my bike after every service. He sets everything properly. Only issue he is from panvel.
If u have any queries. Reply here. Will b happy to help. And ...
I GOT HINDI MANUAL AS WELL. HAHAHAH :P
