Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
And after how many KMs do we need to change the oil after the first service?Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostHonda mineral oil is fine to use. Not changing the oil during free services voids warranty and the ASC will not change to any oil other than the stock Honda mineral (unless you know the mechanic very well).

Service center location
Hello all,
Can we service bike from any authorized service center?
I want to see bike serviced in front of me and cleaned well. Can you please suggest good service center nearby Thane region.
I didn't have good experience at the service center from where i purchased bike.
They didn't let me see my bike servicing. They took it to some other place, staff was very rude and careless.Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
guys my bike was not running smooth at low rpm I had to run it above 60 then it became smooth ,so I suspected lube oil pressure was not proper at low rpm .Opened the clutch cover and inspected the filter ,I found out the sealant that seals the engine crank case stuck in the strainer. Now bike runs smooth at low rpm.
we should ensure that the strainer is cleaned at second service

Is that fuel strainer screen?did you get the work done by svc?by not running smooth do you mean bike was jerking at lower rpms?Originally posted by souravvr View Postguys my bike was not running smooth at low rpm I had to run it above 60 then it became smooth ,so I suspected lube oil pressure was not proper at low rpm .Opened the clutch cover and inspected the filter ,I found out the sealant that seals the engine crank case stuck in the strainer. Now bike runs smooth at low rpm.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Its a centrifugal oil pump's strainer. Its inside clutch cover , its cleaned once in 20-30k kms, but generally twice in initial 10k kms as there is lot of wear and tear.Originally posted by Motomonster View PostIs that fuel strainer screen?did you get the work done by svc?by not running smooth do you mean bike was jerking at lower rpms?

mac4rfree That depends on the ride conditions. The manual states that oil should be changed after 6000km.
The ASC never performs this task. Ultimately they clean the strainer when they change the clutch plates as they need to open the cover.
Soon I will be doing a tappet adjustment as advised by Sibun da.Last edited by Shashank K R; 06-02-2016, 04:15 PM.

I also Mumbai. Will check it laterOriginally posted by Lokesh Rele View PostHi Latebloomer,
I don't know from which part of mumbai you are.
I would suggest you to do servicing at parekh automotive in sion. Its under pilot honda but way better than other pilot honda. Its a authorised service center.
Works on sunday as well. Opens at 9.30am You can wait there in customer lounge and at the same time see your bike getting serviced from the lounge.
I have did the same for my bike's first servicing.
Hope this helps you.
Cheers

The service centre never does that even though it is mentioned in manual.Originally posted by souravvr View Postwe should ensure that the strainer is cleaned at second service
Saying it is not at all needed.
Apart from this strainer cleaning they should do tappet clearance adjustment also which also they don't do.
