Home many Kms on your Odo ?

On day to day commute to office normally I get 49-52 (Same 40-45 KMs ride). It was on highway with very less braking that seemed to work for me getting more KMPL. I am still on stock mineral oil 10w30. Now I am on 11000+ KMs on Odo and will switch to semi synthetic at 12 K and then to fully synthetic at 15 K. I believe that this engine is designed to age slowly so we have to give more KMS on this compared to other bikes. Like break-in period till 1500 KMs instead of 1000 Kms. Switching to Synthetic at 10K+ Kms instead of 8000 KMs as many are doing in the group.

@mkkvs , I also have gine to 160km of trip. Long drives on hornet is very pleasing. You can put your travel log in travel log forum thread

Motorcycle travelogues by thousands of xBhpians from across the world.

18K and first paid service..are you sure?
If its 1800 Kms then i will suggest not to go for synthetic and if possible stick to 10w30 for a while. Go for 10w40 after 5000 and synthetic atleast after 8000 Kms.

Hi bro... I have done 7k kms on my hornet. It was too hard to shift gears earlier but after 2nd servicing it has become bit smoother. And from 2nd gear it is easy to neutral than from 1st gear. Although it's hard to neutral from 1st gear

Mine is giving around 43-45 kmpl. How u are calculating? Calculate from reserve to reserve. Refuel at least 7 litres of petrol to calculate.

Need a info about the brake oil storage section.
Recently the braking efficiency of the bike has been reduced (I have a CBS varinat) and I tried to have a look at the brake fluid inside.
I found that there is a internal rubber layer within the casing in both oil casing.
But when I noticed another bike in parking lot , I observed that the oil is visible clearly in the oil level indicator at front or rear.
It would be great if anybody who has already had a look inside the oil casing provide inputs.
It's not necessary to be your break oil visible. I had been in ASC for doubts on break fluid. He told me not to worry. It lasts more thank 12k kms. He also shows me by opening it. There was a rubber seal which make it invisible. No need to worry.

                    Hi
I am not aware of the part number, as I got it from a auto spare dealer after explaining the need i.e. to avoid the excess mud from the fender and then he gave me this.
Inside layer of this extender has hero Honda printed.
It can be fixed using glue like fevikwik

Yup... Neon orange and green are matte color... Whereas the newly launched ones are metallic with gloss finish...

                          Hello guys,
Hope you and hornet is doing well.

My bike has rusted pretty much at every point. How's yours?

Also noticed strange engine noise when RPM falls down to idle. There are some extra vibes.

                            Hey Guys,
I am in damn search of a saree guard footstep aka ladies footrest. I found some in this thread like that of installing Yamaha FZ's footrest (See page 94). But I cannot find those kind of black footrest with spare parts dealers here in Trivandrum, Kerala. All they have are the chrome ones of Hero Splendor or something. Can you help me? Suggest for a specific model (or specific store in my place...if you know). Can Honda Unicorn 160's entire saree guard with step can be fixed to Hornet?...the three bolts should match, I guess. The search for a footrest is turning into a hunt for a footrest, even though these are trivial things .

Rusting is indeed a problem with this bike. The lock isn't as smooth as it should be and I have to lubricate it often to keep it functional.

Using Antirust spray and it's working fine.No rusting at all. But bike pick up has gone down and taking too much time to reach 80kmph.as per Honda mechanic it's fine.
