My one parking indicators gets fuse. Replaced it with LED parking light. Doesn't look too bright (May be because it was day) but looks cool

Looks nice. Please do let us know if it is too bright that cops stops us unnecessarily. Also, please do let us know if there is any heating issue. as it has about 28 LEDs tightly packed to one unit.

          Hi
There is no soultion practically to avoid the stand hitting the ground on taller humps.

I too have around 8/9 taller humps on my way to office.

I have so far observed that setting the tyre pressure to 27/31 (front / Rear) reduces the chances of getting hit under.

But still need to drive under 15km, and in my case. I have a engineer guard that hits [emoji19] rather than the stand .

Haha nice punch.. I always wondered if those two or three spark plug improved the bike's efficiency or power. However, never noticed those Bajaj's were extraordinary than Honda with single spark plug.

Guys I'm new here. I'm thinking about getting a hornet. Please tell me if it is a right decision or not.
I know honda makes good engines. Are there any dealbreakers which might become unbearable later?
Please inform me about the problems if any, and the mileage it gives in normal riding under 70 kmph. Thanks in advanc.

It's just parking light and also not too bright. I agree with heat generation, one of reviewer complained about getting malted. I have wait for at least a week to see how it performs. My usual ride is not more than 30 min.

Inspector Sahib, take few hours and go through the thread of Hornet and other bikes in your list. You will get if bikes suites you.
Normal riding condition about 70 is very much comfortable and give you 50+ mileage.

Greetings to every hornet owners here. Today I am planning to help my mamu (mom's younger brother) buy a dominar or a hornet. If you could shed some light about the issues, pros and cons, service quality and what needs to be checked before buying one from the store, that would be really helpful. Thank you.

Well those are just marketing gimmicks by Bajaj and RE. And doing so they simply fry up their engine and their refinement level is nowhere near the Japanese machines like Yamaha, Honda & Suzuki. Even liter class super bikes have a single sparkplug per cylinder. On a 100-125cc commuter its makes sense but why on a 200-400 cc motorbike where people look for performance and smoothness rather than Fuel efficiency.

Hornet is a good bike but it can't be compared with Dominar. In one year, the only problem hornet gave me is the relay failure. Otherwise it's a fine commuter bike.

Dominar and Hornet are in two different league 400cc vs 160cc.

Today I made the payment to Khivraj Bajaj for a Dominar!

One thing that I did is I told them that I want to start all the bikes they have and listen to the engine sound. They had three bikes in the plum/red colour that I wanted. They agreed without any issues. When I did this simple test, it was very clear that one of these three bikes had a much smoother idling. I immediately took it for a test ride of around 2 km and noted down the chasis number upon returning. The dealership has agreed to ensure that I only get this bike.

This test originates from around 1982-83 when my dad bought a Bajaj Super scooter. He similarly checked the idling sound of all the scooters available with the dealer and selected the one with the smoothest sounding engine, even though it had a slightly bent front fork! This scooter went on to give him a mileage in the 40s for many years - at a time when such a thing was unheard of!

I have seen multiple queries on lighting changes.
I am attaching few pics of lighting and other modifications that I have done.

                          1. headlights and parking aid off

                          2. parking aid ON

                          3. low beam with 2k rpm

                          4. High beam at 2K rpm

                          5. Parking aid throw on a wall approx 3 feet away

                          6. Number plate lamp off

                          7. Number plate led lamp ON

                          8. Front view without lamp ON

                          9. Front view with head lamp ON

                          10. Ladies foot rest installed when I brought bike approx 1.5 yrs ago. Universal footrest for hero two wheelers Is compatible with hornet.
No need to weld or do any alteration it is direct fit.

                          11. Mud flap for front fender, helpful in Rain to avoid mud hitting shoes and engine. This is also available as a spare for hero bike.

                          12. Polish from 3M to keep the bike looking new and protect from rain water.

                          Note: lights used,
                          1. head lamp : osram silver star 35/35 W 12V cost :150 rs

                          2. Parking Aid lamp 12 V , approx 2 W , sourced from a local auto spare store.
As per the vendor this is used in cars so it is bit bigger than regular T10 , I have filed off the excessive plastic at the sides to fit the lights. Cost 50 pair.

                          3. Number plate lamp : led brought from eBay intially to fit in parking aid. I fit these but in few days one of the light fused off so put the other one at the back for number plate.
                          Link : https://m.ebay.in/itm/2x-T10-W5W-10-...2601?hash=MQ==

I felt the light use to heat up the reflective part, I saw a recent post where one had described 12 led similar to this one. I think this will also heat up the doom and will not last long.

                          Hope this helps out.

Guys done 2 long rides on weekends of July 2017 . (1 year 1 month old hornet / 10K Kms before rides)

                            Delhi - Agra - Delhi (1 Day)
                            ---------------------------------
Started at 6 AM and returned by 8 PM on same day.
                            Total 475 KMs.

Travelled on Yamuna expressway where was able to maintain constant 100+ speed for long spells without any issues. After covering every 80-100 Kms took short breaks for stretching and drinking water.Very smooth performance on 100+ speed for spell ranging from 45-50 min. No overheating or any other issues faced. Top speed achieved was 114 KMPH. Average speed maintained around 95-100. Mileage was around 33 KMPL.

Delhi- Kasauli - Delhi (2 Days)
                            -----------------------------------------------------
Started at 6 AM on 22/07/2017 and returned by 8 PM on 23/07/2017
                            Total 625 Kms.

Travelled on NH1 from Delhi to Panchkula and then on Shimla highway till Kasauli (Himachal Pradesh). Breaks taken at Murthal for famous Amrik Sukhdev Paranthas, then at Karnal for tea and Panchkula for burger. Maintained speed of 60-80 with only very short bursts of 100. Mileage was around 56 KMPL. No major issues faced even on the hilly roads except stiff suspension and weak headlight.

Overall both the trips were great.

In city traffic there is more oil burn due to varying speed and use of clutches. In long stretch engine don't need to work. If you observe you may feel engine overheating in 45 min of heavy traffic as you need to frequent lower gear change.
@mkkvs , I also have gine to 160km of trip. Long drives on hornet is very pleasing. You can put your travel log in travel log forum thread
