Trust me, there is none. Forget FZ-25, ride a current slot FZ-16 v2.0 along with Hornet and you'll find out which bike is engineered to please the rider.

Regards.

My first choice was yamaha fz 2.0 before hornet but the dealer quoted a huge price of 98k for the same & i found it highly overpriced in comparison to what it offers apart from fuel injection

For all those Hornet riders who own any one of the two special edition i have found two essentials two keep your bike in mint condition

1. 3M Dashboard dresser for the fiber cladding on the tank & other parts

2. Vista Dashboard in matte for the matte finished parts

I am using both of them since last two weeks & found them quite useful

Hope it helps.

The sound is a kind of mettalic resonance as though there are a few loose parts in contact with each other ('clang...clang...). In fact i had complained to Honda on a few occassions and the service center diagnosed this as a fault with the 'balancer shaft' and replaced the part under warranty only for the sound to promptly reappear.

I have rode 5-6 hornets and atleast 3 of those had some of sound emanating (which appeared to be from the chain). Perhaps you seem to have go the diagnosis right.

BTW which city do you live in?
I live in Pune. And my mechanic is an automobile engineer. Not quite the guy who'd give you this rubbish: "Saar ye problem nahi hai kyun ki ye awaz to sabhi gadiyon se ati hai"

Check the chain sprocket teeth, if your chain slack needs to be adjusted and this is what you are left with then it is time to replace the chain sprocket.

I had done 12K kms and that's it the sprocket was gone and replaced it.

What v2.0 offered was - way less number of issues, a hassle free ownership, superior build quality, extra refined engine(sure slightly less powerful than its own 1st version), ultra reliable FI system and a few more. Was it overpriced - a little, but was it worth it - yes!

Thanks.

So here are is the before-after pictorial comparison. Please note that the "before" pic isn't exactly before since I've taken it from a friend's bike who has not done the mod.

And the AFTER - Removed the plate by filing away the 3 plug-welds - to get rid of that annoying sound.

Same pinch. I own the same 'make up kits' as you.Very essential for the hornet more so for the fiber cladding on the tank.

Hello guys,

I had checked the mileage of my bike after second servicing itself.
By then, it was somewhere between 44 to 48 kmpl.
I used to drive with tyre pressure 25 and 30.

Now I have done all the three free services, plus one more servicing outside the authorized service center.
But this time I've changed the tyre pressure to 30 (front) and 40 (rear), just to check the difference in riding comfort.
I also checked the mileage again, by reserve to reserve method.
This time it is 51 kmpl.

I clocked 102 kms in 2 liters, out of which approximately 55 to 60kms were on a highway.
And remaining were in the heavy traffic of Pune.

So what might have caused this increase in bike's mileage ?
The change in tyre pressure or the highway ride ?

I also want to ask one more thing.
I'm still facing the 'hard gear shift' problem, especially the false neutral. (3300 kms on odo)
How to overcome this problem ?

Mileage depends on the riding style of the rider more or less... i would suggest you to keep tyre pressure 28&32 although the recommended tyre pressure is 25&28... when i reduced the tyre pressure to the latter while driving on bad roads i met with a severe tyre puncture on my rear wheel with a key like thing ( thanks to the quality of our indian roads) after that i found the tyre pressure to be very less with 25&28 .... keeping the tyre pressure less will also reduce mileage & put strain on the chain drive...

Regarding hard gear shifts keep changing gears frequently it will smoothen up soon

FreeSpiritedBiker, yes, you do get better mileage by increasing the tyre pressure more than the recommended one.
