  • Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences

This bike has got a high revving engine, you feel a sudden surge of power after 5.5k rpm it revs all the way till redlining.
In short > you rev the engine harder & you will unleash the power on this bike

I did a long test drive of 160R: Torque, refinement, fuel efficiency are all good. But build quality is bad!

rough swing arm weldings, prone to rust.
      flimsy footrests,
      cheap plastic saree guard,
      bad switch gears,
      shoddy plastic covers.

Even after all this, the bike is priced a good 5K over many 150's (overpriced as always). Bike definitely doesnt feel well built or sturdy. The only bike with Honda currently well built I feel is the Unicorn 150. Better refinement than Hornet, but lesser power. Lacks few vital features as thick tyres & rear disck brakes.

Honda: 'I enjoy the quality' was their motto. But "I dont enjoy the quality anymore" Why Honda, Why

Exactly! Build quality is questionable..😔😕. Really frustrated owner 😢😭😬Sometimes I regret buying Honda if not for reliable engine.

People are still using their 10 year old unicorn without any issues. But with hornet, even 5 years will be more than enough.

After 5 years, may be I'll go with KTM, Yamaha or Royal Enfield.

As said, the build quality of the Hornet is really bad. Rust prone bike.

any way to increase the headlight focus power

              i took test ride...
till now i had P220F.... sold it yeaterday ....
so in comparison with P220F its a little bit slower, but refined.
from the sound of the engine / exhaust , feels like iam riding 125 C bike...
Try the rtr200 , you might find it better it terms of pickup and exhaust sound

Even the carbon fiber cladding on the tank is completely useless, it is a real scratch magnet in my case I started noticing scratches from the first week itself.
I have also posted a review for the same on the facebook page of the bike

Ride the ktm 200 naked today at pune from khardi showroom. Boy for about 60k more you get a lot. It can be my next if we don't get another naked version in 200cc.

                    Hello
Many owners posted about using synthetic oil in hornet. Please check those messages. Honda ASC will never give you synthetic oil. You'll have to do it yourself or from garage.

I agree with bad switch gear but rest are fine especially the saree guard is certainly not an after thought and goes well with bike's ergonomics. Let me explain you where Honda hits it right.

                            1) Arguably the best looking bike in the lot.
                            2) Comfortable pillion.
                            3) Honda Engine !! nobody has tooth to bite this.
                            4) Mileage is better at any time than all other naked bikes.
                            5) Elder people find less difficulty to ride in pillion.

Honda did some fine balance to attract nut crack youth and also wary elder men. Its solid.
