1.the engine at lower revs is not at all smooth that makes city riding a bit painful will it b smoother as I ride more ..bdw I rode almost 120 kms the day I bought it
2 seat is wide spacing is ample but still as a rider I feel some discomfort anyone else feeling the same
3 some sound is coming from chain ..I guess one owner mentioned
    It previously also

Bdw it looks killer in black..
    Congratulations for the bike.
1.it will smoothen with kilometers.it is still in run in period.
2.yeah I too feel discomfort. Solution:get hornet official Seat cover.
3.there is chain noise in my bike too.but is feeble and is audible only if you ride in open roads with no noise.

        hi brothers,
i recently purchased a black hornet 160r cbs model in Jan'2016. during the run-in period the bike had
        1) wow pick-up
        2) ~42kmpl mileage ; Angry youngster type vibrations and exhaust note
        3) maintained rpm > 6000

Post the first servicing things noticed -
        1) Pick-up dropped
        2) In-gear acceleration makes me feel like Engine is Choked-up
        3) False neutrals hits up at times (noticed thrice till now)
        4) Engine Seems to overheat and a weird smell comes up (happened thrice ; altho those instances i had touched just ~85kmph)
        5) Mileage - Improved ~44kmpl

I will be posting some pics soon
Misc - Top ODO indicated speed achieved - 122 kmph (It can go more ! )

MOST IMPORTANT - I WANT TO CHANGE TO FULL SYNTHETIC ENGINE OIL .. PLEASE CAN THE EXPERTS SUGGEST ME A GOOD BRAND WITH GRADE.... ?
        THANKS

          1. I didn't feel anything as such though, bro. But I didn't ride it soo much in city during initial days.
          2. Seats are wide enoufh, but I didnt find it to have enough cushioning. But after installing the seat cover, the seating is perfect for me.
          3. I was the one who mentioned about the sound. But as it turned out, it wasn't the chain. There was some polythene stuck somewhere near the chain. They cleaned it during service. Post service I have ridden ~350kms, there is no sound or anything at all.

Also I have completed 1200km and bike has become smooth but not as smooth as uni 150 or extreme .will it become more smooth after some kilometers or not.

Ok, that doesn't feel normal. Again, I'm referring to my Unicorn 160 (sorry but Uni160 thread feels dead). Even with ripping, the fuel gauge doesn't show such a drastic drop. Other Hornet owners may help with this.

About the smoothness, I have never found the smoothness to be the same as the older Unicorn 150's engine, I can say this as I have ridden the 150 (3 different bikes), the 160 (4 others apart from mine) and the Hornet as well.
