My First motorcycle.. waited for 4 years.. . After sales attitude of sales executive is typical i mean he just handed over the bike and went away without showing any details or functions.. i understand it was a big mahurat day and they had a lot of deliveries.. i was promised delivery @4pm but got at 7pm again we saw sparks while ignition so it took 30mins more to rectify it. i had to go again next day to know how to set clock and trip meters but this all didnt down my mood.. i am still excited. now i can go anywhere i want without having to wait for autorickshaw and can make new friends and its new here in Surat(Gujarat) so people ask which model it is and how much it costed me. Bike is awesome and very smooth and responsive though it will take time to get used to the gear system. This beast has already started changing my life yesterday night went for a 45min ride and i just dont have enough words to express it. I was following xBhp since 4 years but didnt register as i didnt own a bike i am super excited to join the league.

i just wanna say one thing - Late for the show ,,, but ready to go !!! - welcome to the club bro - many congratulation for your 1st ride , anyways advise time now - ride safe , and have patience till break in times over

As others mentioned, limit to 4k rpm & 50 kmph. for the first 500 km with varying rpm & gear shifting.

Horn sound of the Hornet is loud enough? It is comparable to Pulsar or Apache? How about the headlight?

Horn is audible. Headlight throw is not satisfactory

                          Hello friends,

i have a query about hornet which you guys will answer better.

i own honda cb stunner from 2009 till date, which while riding nearly 60-70 kmph feels like it is demanding another gear upshift, doesnt feel smooth,

Drove unicorn 150 for few month, the feeling of smoothness was excellent and the need for upshift was not there which i felt in stunner,

Now i am planning to buy a new bike,

Test drove fz-fi, gixxer, unicorn 160, hornet

Decided to buy between the two that is unicorn160/hornet.

Now here is the confusion when i took test drive,

Unicorn 160 felt butter smooth and the feeling which i hate being in top gear and feels like bike needs upshift is not there.

But it was present in Hornet 😢

is that any advantage of torque or big rpm requirement that i am hating ?

Because unicorn 150 and 160 feels smooth like butter in any gear, but hornet feels like upshifting is required even in top gear near speed of 60-70, and if i rev hard to achive high speed, i feel like i am stressing the engine.

Please throw light as i need to buy one of these bikes within 20 days.

PS: i can live without engine kill switch, poor switchgear and full dc wiring ☺

Also i can manage sporty/ commuter riding style both. My height is 5'11 and weight is 72kgs

Agreed hornet FEELS stressed. even i did wish it had a 6th gear. I hv been riding it for 2 months but the engine is a gimmick. U rev it commuterish it gives u smooth and stable performance ie. ~6500 RPM. REV it hard ~7000 to 7500 rpm shifts for 4th and 5 th gear it tends to feels stressed for then when u see the Odo u have touched 103+ without even knowing of it.

At the end of the day it is ur choice. Looks r subjective. Take a bike that suits ur needs and fits in ur comfort level. Coz u gonna ride it daily.

Unicon 160 = commuter with mediocre styling
Hornet = commuter with style that turns heads
