Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Open the fuel cap for 5 secs close it and then try starting. Do not open the throttle while starting. Kick start it with choke closed and even after 5 attempts if it refuses to start, use the choke without any throttle input.Originally posted by Suddy View Post

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Thank you. I was wondering if changing the tyres would give hornet the same front end feel as Gixxer?Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostHornet's tyre: 140/70 - 70
Gixxer's tyre: 140/60 - 70
I think we can use it. It just Hornet's tyre outer size is bigger. See this: https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc...0r17-140-60r17

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
My bike starts in single kick even if not used for week.Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostYes, I confirm this issue.
After few days of idle it needs proper warm-up at least a minute other wise it will stop after few 100 meters and you get this issue.
I have faced this issue 3 times.
If you get the issue when not starting even from self start, engage choke for 2 kicks and then kick normally (don't get furious, hard kick won't help) until you get the start. I will take at least 10+ kicks.
Whenever you park bike, always use center stand and turn off fuel cock.
Follow below steps to kick start
1) Turn on fuel cock just few second before kick starting.
2) Give multiple half soft kicks until kick gets hard.
3) Once you feel that kick has become tight, let the kick come back to normal position.
4) Now give single hard kick. Hornet will start low RPM thumping! 😎
I love this low thump. 😁
5) Don't use throttle when giving kick.
6) If you feel engine is going to shut off, give a very slight throttle for 2K RPM. Keep varying it.
7) If you want, you can give choke for 40-60 seconds or
You can start riding very gently for next 1.5-2 kms. 😇
8) After 5-10 minutes, it warms up and now you can ride faster. 👻💀
This method always works! Cheers! 😎👊✌🤘Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

Although, it seems engine is getting warmup while kicking. There is absolutely no issue when it starts with multiple kicks.------------------

But with choke, it wont start. The manual says, one should start a cold engine with choke engaged and zero throttle input. But with just choke, i was not able to kick start my bike atleast once. Even with choke you have to give in a slight throttle to make the engine fire up.
But without using choke the above said method works.
Thank you.

I use choke on cold start, when I'm in rush to ride faster 😂😁
Generally when using choke, extra throttle is required and bike generally dies after choke is released..Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
If it is absolutely necessary to do so, yes. Otherwise , no. I don't think you'd find many Indian roads where you can keep the rpm constant. In case you're lucky to do so, wait till 2000-3000 kms till the engine gets more worn out. 1 more service is suggestible. If you're on consistent lower rpms, it doesn't matter. Thanks Vattsy, since my daily drive is on NH, generally I got 5-7 km. Plain stretch where I can constant speed. Did you mean to keep varying speed/RPM till 3000 km.Originally posted by Vattsy View PostIf it is absolutely necessary to do so, yes. Otherwise , no.
