i dont live i a dusty town. but since this is INDIA and northern state it gets duty several times. but can tolerate. some guys said it helps in low end pick ups. how can i get the vroom sound . will BMC filter work. without jetting (UP and down)Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostDon't go for K&N. You'll need to rejet otherwise the AFR will become lean. Also they let in more dust due to their filtering not being as good as stock. Only effect will be the sound which gives the placebo that you're getting more performance.

Doesn't really help in better performance. Maybe they feel better low end because of the sound. Put a filter without rejetting and the engine will run lean and it will damage the engine in the long run. None of the free flow filters are good unless you rejet. Stick to stock and if you want that sound, just remove the air filter cover and retune the carb.Last edited by Shashank K R; 10-04-2016, 08:09 PM.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Yes sir, keep varying thee rpms. And now that you've crossed a 1000 km, slowly cross the rev border very very smoothly, rweach a new speed you have not done before, and let go. Do it again. Just listen to the engine very carefully for any changes. If nothing is changing, in a 100km ride, you'll have all the rev ranges tested and then you can keep playing around, varying all the rpms you want.Originally posted by NainHardeep View PostDid you mean to keep varying speed/RPM till 3000 km.I meditate as I ride to find a place to sit and meditate.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hi everyone,
I am booking a new hornet std next week(not sure on which variant still),have a few question:
1-are the front brakes of the cbs and std version of the bike same ?
2-how is the suspension?my daily route has a bad road.
3-how is electric start in morning?is it okay to use push start every morning and kick once or twice a week?(on weekends)
4-is it really necessary to lube the chain on regular intervals?

Since you were a CBR 150 owner, i would like to know from you how you see the performance difference between CBR 150R and hornet 160R, though i know that they belong to different class. I have posted a comparison here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...ml#post1219141, i felt honret is more value for money than CBR.
Is your suspension still feels stiff after around 4000 kms? You may need to do some tuning, my suspension felt softer after first service as i complained about it.
Yes i drove a non-cbs hornet. It tends to lock as soon as we apply the rear brake. the reason may be the tire. as we dont have any treads in the centre part of the tire. not only that, the vehicle and sitting posture is like shedding all the weight to the front wheel hence there wont be enough pressure to the rear wheel(i just think)
as far as the performance, both are completely different. CBR packs the power over 8000rpm and hornet will run out of juice at that range. hornet has the power and torque in the low end when compared to cbr. the gearing was more or less same as that of cbr. taller gear helps better cruising in highway..

1. Yes.Originally posted by Faiz Syed View PostHi everyone,

2. It will feel stiffer. Maintain recommended presssure. I see in Hyderabad, people fill 40/35.
3. No issue with starting. But if you feel quite colder. Try with choke. there is no side effect of using choke.
4. Yes, it gives you better smoothness. I think, once in two month is good duration for normal city commuting.
push start - Didn't get you.
Service center mechanic recommends to use Kick in morning. If you use kick you probably need chock . That's ok practice. I don't know if is a issue using self start.------------------
