Yeah it will bro.. If u dont rev up it to a max atleast once, then u wont able to reach the top speed of ur bike forever. Experienced it in my friend's FZ, he didnt rev up abopve 5k till first service, eventually his top spped ended up not more than 102 that too hard

Guys anyone used tyre protector? Which is a gel type material used to protect tubeless tyres from punctures. Merely not protect, u wont need to use puncture kit. I heard that if u remove the nail, the sealant woul seal the gap. If anyone used , kindly please state your review about it.

I am currently using motul 7100 10w40 fs oil.
The engine feels very smooth and revv free however there's a sticky gear problem even after adjusting the clutch.

Can we fill up synthetic over existing mineral? Or it needs to be drained and then synthetic only.

Other than motul which other synthetic oil is good
        Needs to be drained completely.

Isn't 5W 30 a better alternative? It's safer to have the upper limit as 30 right? 40 would be thicker....

I found it clumsy. Plus the Motocross type visor is irritating in high speeds. I am currently using Studs Ninja 3G XL size. Super comfortable and stable .
Planning to upgrade soon to LS2 or other expensive one to see if they hold good or not.

The number before W stands for cold start temperatures. And after W stands for maximum temperature where the oil won't lose its viscosity.

5W30. Temperatures don't fall so low in India. You can try that though

W40 will be thicker but will hold good even in hot engine temperatures
W30 won't give that type of high temperatures performance.
Mileage will be slightly compromised in W40

It can be dirt or gravel on the disc. Clean it and check. If still sound comes then maybe you can check with ASC

I know what the grade means. It's just that 10W 30 isn't available in FS oil, so 5W 30 is the closer to the recommended grade

I checked it bro. But the sound is like cling cling, it occurs while braking, not all times

Would like to know few things from the owner of this beautiful machine. Though I have some rough answers found from the web, but I believe it's always better to get answers directly from owners.

                          1. How heavy it feels in slow traffic? And how easy it is for a medium built guy for handling it in day to day life?
                          2. Mileage should be approx 40 per my understandings, but what do you people are getting out of it?
                          3. What is the service interval. For my CBR I change engine oil once in every 4-5K kms. What about Hornet?
                          4. Is there any vibration at any RPM range less than 6000? As beyond that bike will be ridden occasionally.
                          5. How powerful the headlight is? Just a generic question though one can always upgrade bulbs.

                            1. Traffic - It does not feel heavy. It's super flickable thanks to its light steering. Also it steers precisely.
Only trouble factor is the high revving engine. Low end is disappointing.

                            2. Mileage - totally depends on your riding style and conditions. I am 92kgs, have the habit of shifting at 5k RPM and do mostly city plus highway riding. Speeds vary between 50 to 80. I manage to get 47 to 50 kmpl.

                            3. Engine oil - company suggests 10w30 mineral oil that has a drain interval of 2000 to 2500 kms, because it is Air cooled.
CBR uses fully synthetic oil as it is liquid cooled , hence longer drain interval.
Off late post 6000kms I am also using fully synthetic oil. Works well with this machine too. 10w30 grade

                            4. There are vibes in lower gears because they are short . From 3 onwards it's smooth. You get vibes in speeds from 100. Inshort totally acceptable for a commuter. Don't compare this with your CBR.

                            5. Worst headlight.

Thank you. Downgrading to HORNET from CBR will be a hard time. You can end up cursing HORNET. But it's an awesome COMMUTER.

                              1. Every bike feel heavy at first,if you have not used to it. My weight is 53 kgs, using unicorn 150 from last 1.5 years which is heavier than hornet and now using hornet for 4 months, trust me you will not feel the weight of bike after use to it.

2.Mileage is 40+ anyday if you are not harsh driver. Iam getting 48~53kmpl in city.In highway you expect it between 42~47 if you driving constantly 90+.Just once I have got. Mileage of 39 on highway while I cruising at 90+ all day on 250km ride

                              3. 1 service in one month after purchase of bike and after that 6000km or 6 months whichever is earlier.

                              4. Bike will not vibrate till 6k rpm that much, but yes I have observed some sound change change. But you can drive the bike constantly at90~95 kmph with full control. My top speed is 108kmph (with pillion).after that I have not give that throttle to bike.

5.Headlight sucks man.The intensity of light is very low. Also, you have to set focus of upper light & Dipper light afterwards. In highway, you feel headlight is just useless.

Initially,i was also so much confused between gixeer and hornet. But due to reliability OF HONDA and that worst pillion comfort of gixeer,i have finally bought Hornet, after test riding both the bikes 3~4 times in a single day😂😂😂.
Overall,Hornet is good bike with fee cons like absence kill switch, headlight, outdated switchgears, less pickup in initial rpms (It will not that noticeable though)

My current odo reading is near about 2600km in 4 months and really very happy with bike.
If you are going for Hornet, I will insist you to go for CBS version, the breaks are just awesome and life saver too.

First of all I thank both of you for such quick detailed write up reply which shows a big gratitude towards the Hornet. Secondly, my bad was that I didn't clarify that the queries made here was not for me, rather it was for a friend who texted me this morning and queried about some 150cc segment mileage motorcycles.

Though I'm not in any favor of buying a new bike any sooner, I do keep my eyes on new launches/review/ownership specially for Honda/Yamaha motorcycles. BTW, I love Honda engines for their low ends, i.e. while I ride my CBR at 4000/5000 rpm, it feels like I'm riding a small bike, but on the counter part while I push it to 90+ or sometime 100 then it gives a big machine feel. So it's really a pack of both flavors within budget. I surely believe Honda gave the same grunt to Hornet as well.

In my opinion the only drawback of Hornet is missing of a Kill switch though one can live without it. The same is the case with CBR 150R. I don't really understand how much extra money/effort could have been taken to put a kill switch.
