Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
"Avoid maintaining constant speed and constant RPM" - Which mean don't cruise. Trying varying speed. Also one in a while go to higher speed and higher RPM on each gear.Originally posted by AntonyRinaldo View PostThe advisory is to maintain the speed less than 40/50 kmph during the break in period. As the most of my commuting would be in the highway, i maintain 50 kmph to reach office as early as possible. I have seen some bikers saying "Avoid maintaining constant speed and constant RPM".
Now can anyone please explain me, during break in period how not to maintain constant speed and constant RPM? Do you guys mean i have to keep it varying like accelerate to reach 50 kmph from 30 kmph, then decelerate to 30 kmph from 50 kmph and repeat it all the way in the my 30 km ride to office?
Search for some Engine Break-in ways.

Engine Overheating Issue
I own a Hornet 160R, Went for a ride of totally 250 kms, in the middle i felt that engine slows down unusually, stopped it. Switched off and again started engine didnt idle at all and got off. I thought may be over heating, waited for 20 - 30 mins. Again started then engine felt normal. What may be the issue? what to do?

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Wanted to know as to which oil is the best for Hornet. Was planning to use Motul 7100, but see that it does not suit the vehicle. I guess Honda Synthetic would not be available outside of service centres.
Anyone tried Shell Advance/Helix?

You can buy it from Honda service center. Tell that you have CBR250
.
Also be aware, if you use other oil than Honda it will void warrantee.------------------

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Even a Very severe cyclone cant shake Hornet. I was stuck in office for entire cyclonic day and reach home at night after lot of hardships. I parked my Hornet in open space in front of my home. It was still standing. with all dread i inserted key and pressed starter. Engine roared to life. the sweetest thing i've heared in recent times.
During the launch lot of us felt bad about the switch gear. see this switch gear missed an engine kill switch but will take on a storm. Say again "Honda is Honda".

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hello hornet owners, Do we get some basic tools (pair of spanners, screw drivers, etc) along with the bike while delivery or not?
Because for the Active that we bought two years ago we were given some basic set of tools. I haven't got anything like that when i bought this hornet.
Has any other buyers have the same situation?

See the Owner's Manual, if your dealer managed to give that (Some of them don't). The manual will usually mention what basic tools come with the bike and where they are tucked in.Originally posted by AntonyRinaldo View PostHello hornet owners, Do we get some basic tools (pair of spanners, screw drivers, etc) along with the bike while delivery or not?

Hey to open it you need the allen key that's supplied by honda.. just open the seat . You will see a tool kit in which you will find it. in the front side you will find two push type plastic screws which can be opened by pushing at the centre with any screw driver .. you need to then side the panel forward and the cover will b out .

Cheers👍

I had given my vehicle for 1st service when it had clocked around 400 kms. Since the next service is scheduled at 180 days/ 6000 kms, i prefer to have another service carried out at around 2500 kms (DIY) where i would change the oil, have the chain lubed, cleaned and adjusted if necessary.
BTW how will a guy at ASC know the oil i have used, more so if it black (unless i tell him or he does some investigation)
. Of course, since the oil can be bought at service centers, i will stick to that.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hey guys, m very satisfied wid my hornet ( mars orange ). Generally, people misunderstand my bike to be Ktm duke. Clocked exact 777 kms till now. I fueled it at 210 kms( fueled 7 ltrs. ) but it has still not come in reserve. It already had 3 ltrs. at that time. Happy wid d performace. People always ask me abt my bike whenever i stop at red light.

As suggested by ASC and forum people, better to stick with mineral oil in first 5K. Then use full synthetic.
I also don't know how to check if oil needs to change.
Yes, once on synthetic oil, stick with it.------------------
