Not really a matter of concern until functionality is affected, in which case warranty would cover the replacement.Originally posted by #bpk View PostMoisture inside my instrument console! Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Classic symptom of Hornet's console. Ashwin, I too have rarely noticed water condensing inside console of my GS when it is really cold outside - goes away after a ride in the sun. Bajaj Avenger's fuel gauge has this 'problem' IIRC.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostNot really a matter of concern until functionality is affected, in which case warranty would cover the replacement.

Next time when that happens, run your finger on the console glass - if the water has formed on the outside, don't worry about it.Originally posted by #bpk View PostIn my case its opposite when i park my bike in sunlight, fog forms in the console and goes away when i park in my garage [emoji22]

These are just one of those things than happen with time.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostClassic symptom of Hornet's console. Even if you get the console replaced under warranty it is bound to reappear over time.
I usually ignore this, whereas a fellow enthusiast got his console replaced, some time down the line my stock meter still works fine and his replaced meter has also started to show the same issue.Motorcycling Experience:

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
dude my sincer suggestion , replace or change parts if really really required, because in first service i asked svc to check small engine noise, then he opend it and screwed up with it and it took approx 10months for them to fix it properly after like 10visits, better stick with company stock version . i think you got what i am saying. ?Originally posted by #bpk View PostNo the water forms inside hence i am worried

my bike is 11 months old only and my last service is in next month ,so using company recommended engine oil only. occasionally i go to outside mechanic for just to tight the chain , between you can try moutal chain lube it's really effectiveOriginally posted by #bpk View PostThanks raaz bhai for suggestion bdw which engine oil do you use in your hornet. Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Between 4 and 5k there is spot where Hornet vibrates the most, it goes away with time. If there is no sound in neutral then must be some loose nut. Better find source.Originally posted by winturf99 View PostHi guys. I might be in need of some help from you. I get to hear this random kat kat sound when i try to rev past 4 or 5k rpm from the engine while riding. I've checked for chain slack and it's just fine and well lubricated too. It's not very high but can be felt from while riding and annoys very much as it's from the engine. I also feel the brake bite in the front reduced. @anoopkumar I've had the bike fall just in front of dlf gate 3 last Friday. An @$$hole came from the divider side and stopped it right ahead of me while I was riding and the bike skid due to wet road and steep slide. Hyderabadi roads are like canyons to the left side and valleys in the center.
This sound from the engine is from before the fall though. I also have this clutch moving up and down too much slack. I tried to get it rectified from a mechanic and he said he could adjust the slack but not the upward downward movement and I need to change the lever. I just left that place on hearing it. So, please shed some light on this engine noise and arresting clutch lever upward downward movement
I have seen perpendicular movement of clutch lever which seems malfunctioned but it just work fine. Get it fixed while service.
Again adding suggestion to get better service:
Keep noting down all the problems you feel in bike. Attach the note with service slip. There is not much of space to note down everything on service slip. I forgot twice and result bad service.
When I say Each and everything, mean what to do and what not to do. And ask them to tick everything an also inspect if everything is done as given slip.
Even write down don't clean and lube the chain.Service guys never clean the chain they just spay some lube after wash and charge it 150/-.
Most of service centers co-operate whats needs to done. But if you don't tell they will do the minimal.------------------

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Sure. I'll take a note of it this time. I've clocked 5k kms today. As of now no major problems. I notice the smoothness in ride when the chain is cleaned and lubed. I do it personally using a cloth and kerosene. Later I use Glossil chain spray and the ride feels smooth. I need to get the mileage setting done by tuning the carburetor. I got 30 kmpl when I've been touring on 100 to 110 speeds. I think it should be 35 kmpl to the least and the best mileage till date didn't cross 42 kmpl which I received just once. At times the throttle feels jammed or some gummy feeling. I'm planning to change to Motul or Shell 10W40 FS after 7k kms which I'll be attaining probably in a month or 45 days. Please let me know if it's better to use Honda Throttle or go with 10W40 since my commute is mostly stop and go traffic. I feel the heat from engine and think 10W40 Fully Synthetic will be better for heat management rather than 10W30.Originally posted by anoopkumar0 View PostBetween 4 and 5k there is spot where Hornet vibrates the most, it goes away with time. I think Honda Throttle FS works well. However, there are post from other guys praising 20W50. Also some people says Motul 7100 works great.Originally posted by winturf99 View PostSure. Motul 300v is big no as it is leaks. So I guess you can switch and try whichever works for you.
I am looking to buy chain spray.
My past experience-
3M was okey, but bit sticky.
WD 40 really opens up everything but can't be used as regular spray.
How is Glossil chain spray in terms of stickiness and how longs it holds?
Where do you buy kerosene?------------------
