Nothing as such. Comparisons are relative and choices are subjective.

Though they don't seem much now, back in the day the P220 and RTR180 were aggressively tuned machines.

I'd still prefer to run an under-powered machine granted it has decent part quality and spare availability as component life is higher on an under-tuned machine, only reason the same in not obvious these days is due to a considerable dip in part quality of certain manufacturers.

    The difference is substantial.

The CR is the ratio between the total area of the cylinder and its squish clearance, meaning even the slightest difference is significant nonetheless.

Quality level of Bajaj bikes is pathetic, that of TVS is nowhere near Honda.
This statement has lead me to believe that you've not worked on a motorcycles of different brands.

TVS has the best part quality when it comes to indigenous motorcycles, HMSI and Hero though have been said to be decent back in the day(before I got on two wheels), they have been known for quality concerns in their commuter(Anything below the CBR range) segment motorcycles, if you go deep into the CB150 thread you'll get to know what I'm referring to, it was a shame when the CB150 which was known for its reliability started experiencing quality concerns that forced owners to dispose off the motorcycle with really low odo reads.

The motorcycle at my disposal was a 2013 CB Unicorn that was owned by a friend, after repeated quality concerns and failure of SVC to address the issue we tried Honda's redressal page which literally ended is a 'Link Not Found' page, it was with the help of fellow xBhpians that we got in touch with higher up officials who helped resolve our concerns, by when my friend got fed up and decided to part with the motorcycle.

The upside in all this was that, we did get a good resale for the motorcycle due to warped market perception about Honda's reliability and unbelievably long waiting times, which were a thing those days.

Genuinely it can reach 119/120 kmph as top speed. If the road is slight inclined ..we can expect till 125 kmph or more

Till 100/112kmph the engine is stress free

Cruising between 60 to 90/95kmph is the sweet spot in hornet
Is your bike CBS model? What's your weight? If CBS, is the front wheel of your bike free?

Yeah, for example paint quality on tvs products is unmatched whether it's xl 100 or RR 310

Please just leave this thread and sell your hornet if you have too many problems, don't spam this thread, if you have problems and you came here for solution you are most welcome, still if you want to spam this thread go a head......

I don't change bikes frequently. Hornet is my 3rd bike, 2nd brand after Yamaha.
Being a mechanical engineer I know what compression ratio means. I just wanted to mean that such difference in compression ratio does not necessarily mean high vibration/harshness.
Earlier RTR series bikes are known to have vibration on a different level. Spare parts availability of Honda is definitely better in my place.

My Unicorn ran 115000km in 11 years without clutch plate change before I sold it. First bike Yamaha RX 100, that too without clutch plate change was with me for 85000km/14 years. But front fork oil seals of Honda were way better than Yamaha, oil leak very few and far between. Never changed the clutch cable of Unicorn.

I weigh 77 kg. My CBS Hornet's front wheel is slightly sticky/jammed maybe because of CBS. These factors may cause lower top speed compared to your bike.

I changed my Father's Glamour headlight to Osram Rallye 5000k white light 40/45w .
See the effect. It'd little high. We adjusted it later.
Much better light and very well driving at moderate speed 50-60.
If you are looking for the change, Osram 40/45w is good choice.Click image for larger version
