Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Sounds fine to me. Is this during a cold start? I do not think Hornet has issue with loosening of tappets. Also, the max payload capacity (carrying capacity) of Hornet is 170kg. Why are you carrying more weight than that?Originally posted by OneandonlySunny View Post[My Motorcycles]

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I was also looking for a spare spark plug. Currently using a Bosch plug installed by Honda ASC. I don't know it's specifications. The recommended and stock spark plug for Honda Hornet is the NGK CPR8EA-9. Today I just tried to decode this numbers. The internet gives following info.Originally posted by OneandonlySunny View Posti want to use this one
people saying its better then NGK irridium plug
do u have any insight about this ?
C - Thread diameter of 10 mm with 5/8" (16 mm) Hex spanner width and a pitch of 1.0 mm
P - Projected tip spark plug design
R - Resistor type spark plug
8 - The number indicating heat range (varies from 2 to 12) (higher the number, colder the heat range)
E - Reach/Length of the threads (E indicate 3/4" or 19 mm reach)
A - Special design (Suffix GP indicates Platinum alloy fine wire, IX indicates 0.6 mm fine wire Iridium)
9 - Spark plug gap of 0.9 mm
I saw some variations in your choice especially for the reach/length. It shows 1.0" reach whereas the recommended is 0.75". So please enquire about it before purchase.
From NGK, the CPR8EAGP-9 (Platinum G-Power) and CPR8EAIX-9 (Iridium) spark plugs are there. I haven't used any of these, so don't know about the performance. But couple of friends says the GP one is a good bet and costs approx. 200 rupees. Iridium ones are overpriced with no significant gains. Please check with others.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I feel the same when I test rode the FZ25 in May or June 2017. For the comfortable suspension of FZ I was about to sell my Hornet.Originally posted by #bpk View PostAnupam Das, you'll love the suspension setup on fz25 it's very comfortable.

What is the maximum speed you have achieved?Originally posted by #bpk View PostNot tested for a long time. I am very happy about it's mid range punch, reaches 100 kmph very easily. Engine has become even smoother. After riding other bikes when i ride Hornet i feel night and day difference. Also I've figured out a way to make ride quality comfortable .

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I have ridden it for 5 metres only in our compound in 1st gear due to lockdown and the shift feels different. One showroom staff delivered the FZ at my doorstep, literally, riding the bike himself following me/my Hornet just one and half hour before the lockdown scheduled from 6 pm on 24-03-2020. Then I dropped him in front of the showroom and rode back home. The crash guard was also not available with the dealer. So now I will have to ride cautiously.Originally posted by #bpk View PostHow is the gearbox. I fine the gears hard compared to hornet.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
I am on NGK Spark Plugs CPR8EAIX-9 since more than 6 months.Originally posted by OneandonlySunny View Posti want to change my spark plug to NGK Iridium IX CR8EIX to my Honda Hornet 160r
bike running 3500 KM , would i get more ready pickup ?
what should i do at low cost to get some more ready pickup ?
kindly tell me , thanks.
Here is my experience:
I have covered over 4000Km including long drive.
-Power deliver is smother
-Improvement in vibration
-Quick startup and smooth engine sound on idle
-No tuning required. Self fitted and worked instantly.
My spark plug died after 29K. Changing at 3.5k ODO would be waste of money.
Better Pickup: I don't think so.
For better pickup on hornet: Try gear shift on higher RPM. Your odo is still in run-in. train your bike for higher RPM in lower gear to brush up well. This will smoothen the engine when you want to shoot up from traffic signal.------------------

Thanks anoopkumar0 sir for the insights.
For Honda Hornet, the (recommended) Iridium spark plug from NGK will be the CPR8EAIX-9 (same specs as stock but Iridium). So it might be the safe option. I don't know much about spark plugs other than the specs available in internet, so cannot comment on what happens if you install CR9EIX instead. CR9 seems to be a colder plug than CPR8, and may cause fouling and misfire. Please stick to factory specs, if you are not completely sure of outcomes. Also, if pick up is the problem, I share the same opinion of anoopkumar0.
Thanks.

Re: Honda CB Hornet 160R Owners Experiences
Hello fellow Hornet 160R riders,
I have a question if you can help me out. I want to replace the gear shifter from toe only to heel and toe so that I can save my shoes since I only ride the motorcycle to go to work on the dusty roads and full of potholes of Kathmandu.
Has anyone performed this modification, if you have which other motorcycle's heel and toe shifter did you use?
Thank again.
