Just cover the things most new buyers are concerned about. Like, major issues and minor irritating issues. No body likes to visit service center frequently. So just think from a potential buyer POV n make it. Don’t forget to post a link here. Good luck.

Does anyone know about the expected launch date of the ABS + FI version?

Hello everyone. I got my Himalayan on 28 September and it is my first bike.
So far the bike is running amazing. Dropped it on the right side thrice as I couldn't balance it and once the bike just stopped while taking a turn.

However, I have got few questions regarding maintenance and all. Would really appreciate if someone can give me tips on maintaining the bike. My questions are:

            1. I got it first serviced on 500+ kms. The manual says I should get the next service on 5000kms or 6 months. So does this means I have to do nothing in between?
            2. The chainset. When should get it lubricated? Kms or days or should I notice some sound?
            3. What is the tyre pressure needed. On the manual it says 22/32 but according to what I have heard it is 26/32-36? I am using nitrogen ( recommended by someone ).
            4. The type of fuel. Should it be premium always or normal always? Sometime I can't find premium petrol and go with the normal one. Is it good or bad?
            5. The rear brake has started making a sound. It is most probably due to water and all. Is there something I can do by myself or should I take it to service centre?

            Thanks in advance.

I'm planning to buy this bike, should I buy the FI or carburettor version or wait for ABS?

FI. The carb variant wouldn't be easy to get hold of, now that there is the BS4 FI variant.

ABS or not would be your choice. Depending on the expected arrival. Is it even official that there's ABS going to be offered?

Was it your error or...? Hopefully the bike was moving at a very low pace and nothing major happened.

You have to do one thing, keep riding [emoji3] and observe if there's something that you want adjusted/changed during the next service. Usually better to get things sorted by the first or second service.

Usually once in about 1000kms. Lesser if you're riding in dusty or rusty environment. Keep your eyes and ears open, yes.

Follow the instructions on the manual. Decrease if you feel the ride to be unusually bumpy. Increase otherwise.

I don't think premium fuel is necessary as such. The compression ratio is pretty normal. Normal would do.

Get it checked. Maybe it needs to be lubricated.

                    Happy riding!

                    Cheers

                      Shouldn't be a problem.
Do take a detailed test ride. Preferably on a weekday, from a showroom that's around bad roads.

Go by your own judgements and instincts.

                      Good luck

                        Hi Everyone,

I just got my REH last week and ODO is 246 kms now. Would like to get few information from owners.
                        • Since the stock headlight isn't great, shall I change the bulb or need to go for auxiliary lights
                        • Which crash guard will be good
                        • Any other cover/protection cases required
                        • any good shop/ dealers in Bangalore to get these

                        Thanks in advance...

Do post your detailed ride experience coupled with some good photos of the motorcycle. The Himalayan is one motorcycle where more reviews from current users just doesn't satiate. Coming to your query, it's purely one's personal discretion to add extra aux lights. You have a very diverse range of LEDs and lamp units ranging from different watts available at your nearest kirana who deals with electrical and electronic accessories for cars and bikes or you can source it from online where we do have a variety of options. Sourcing it from your local dealer, one way helps with the installation and can tender in a bargain deal.

                          Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                          The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                          THE END

                              Thanks in advance.
                              Congratulations on the machine.

                              1) keep an eye on the engine oil level. Keep an eye on the brake fluid levels. Most of all keep the bike clean. A clean bike is a well functioning bike.
                              2) Cleaned and lubed every 400-500 depending on riding conditions. Never over lube or over tighten. Recommended chain slack has to be observed.
                              3) manual says 22 and what you've heard is 26. So figure out between the numbers. Let the rear stay at 32. Dual purpose tires grip better when they're 2-3psi lesser than recommended on Tarmac.
                              4) It's not a high revving or high compression engine. Save on the bucks and run good normal fuel. Maybe from Shell and once every 2000 kms treat the bike to a tank full of premium if you'r wallet seems happy..
                              5) Take it to the service centre. Look what they do. If the problem is fixed, replicate it safely at home then on and keep learning. Brakes are not supposed to be meddled with unless you're pretty darn sure.

                              Cheers.

I have come to know that production for the Himalayan 2017 has been stopped and soon the 2018 models will come. Is it true? If yes, any idea when the first batch be delivered? Any new changes to the bike in comparison to 2017 model?

                                Thanks
