The gear shifting should improve after first service. It is not necessary to our premium petrol, I have a BS3 one and have never our premium petrol ever. Mileage should be lot more than 20. I get around 30 in city and 35 on Highway (if I don't rip it)

By the by, the pics are amazing!

    Cheers!
    Thanks a lot.
Few things I just recalled. At the time of pickup my bike had initial reading as 15 km. The guy told me that earlier it was 2-4 km and now they do rigrous testing that's why it is 15 km.
The color on silencer is somewhat off. I don't think this should be normal.

Not really sure why the silencer looks like that bro. The exhaust pipe looks a bit bent?
You may want to check what's the reason behind it. (I am not sure if there is a problem or not) Maybe others can help you with their point of view.

No worries as I'm going to visit the showroom tomorrow(forgot to collect service book). I'll get this thing checked.

It's my first bike so I noticed following
          1. Ride is very smooth
          2. Having little problem in shifting gears. But I guess that will improve with time.
          3. Real feel was after 40kmph. I mean I enjoyed when it crossed 40kmph. Did not drive for long(rain rain go away).

The guy at RE told me to go for premium petrol. Do I need to? I don't have any problem though.
I was expecting mileage between 25-30. However, the RE guy told me it will be between 18-20kmpl
Got helmet. But I am planning to get an LS2 after sometime.
I’ve got the delivery on 27th Sept, regarding the mileage even I feel the same.
          As of now getting 18-20kmpl.
Hope it will increase after 1st service.

Unlike other RE models , Himalayan silencer is made up of Bronze metal. Bronze color changes when it expose to silencer heat. This may be one of the reason.[emoji4][emoji39]

First of all, hearty congratulations. Regarding the color change it’s natural [emoji2]. Enjoy the ride.

Just had a phone conversation with Area Sales Manager, asking about the delivery dates of REH here in Northeast as other states are making delivery of it, he said that it will be on december last. Yes, i typed it right, December Last. shockingly I asked the reason to get an answer regarding further improvements based on the feedback of the demo bikes.
So here I am searching again for an adventure motorcycle under 3-4 Lakhs, any suggestions ?
PS: today itself i will take back the booking amount for REH... angrily.

The only bike that fits the bill for touring right now is the Dominar.

Superb pics for a superb bike.. congrats for your new ride Abhish...
I've BS3 version and majorly on my city rides I get 27-28kmpl. You shouldn't get anything less than 25 in city (unless you drive your bike like a TEST RIDE mule).

I got the new BS4 delivered last week.

The bike is going on the right side when I leave the handle. Anyone else also facing this?

For all REH owners, I visited the service center today to talk about Rust complaints in my Himalayan. The service manager Mr.Peter informed about the Anti-Rust spray, and suggested for it's application. I was also told that RE has given this suggestion for all Himalayan and have listed most places where there are more chances for rusting (all major nuts, spoke caps, side stand spring, pillion seat nuts, front folk suspense areas etc).
Ive got this application done and it seems to fix some minor rusts. Those who have similar problem, please visit your service center for this.

How much does it cost? Does it remove existing rust and prevent future rust?

This was done free of cost. The bottle is 500rs, but it was not charged to me. Seems RE is doing this to ensure their reputation..
It certainly removes existing rusts 60-70%...
