Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello Riders,
Did anyone have to change BRAKE PADS yet?
If so then how often do you have to change it.
It's been just 3 months and I had to replace the front pads.. according to service center my braking is hard and I use it a lot.. but three months is too short time for a life of brake pad...
noticed even the rear brakes are almost dead.. I think have to replace these too now.. it's worth around 450
Feedback on this pls..

Life of brake pads does not depend on the time you've had your bike but on how much you have run the bike in that time.Originally posted by Yagi315 View PostHello Riders,

Me too now I'm worried about this bike its doesn't feel smooth like its smaller brother 150cc fzs fi.Originally posted by Tapjesus25 View PostHaving second thoughts now on my booking
If you try yo pamper your fz25 then she will hurt you...use good quality helmet which snuggly fit n filters some sound, ride hard and focus on exhaust note..its not 1500cc silent engine or super smooth liq cooled cbr..its raw "air cooled" 250cc high torque engine which will produce some noises...valve terrain settings are by default on loose side for better heat dissipation which produces sound..and it has dual valve spring which is another reason for more rattle sound..but system is very solid and reliable.
Its not a solution bro, i m not satisfied with your thinking..
So didnt you tell them to change the fi system....Originally posted by jass007 View PostSo I have driven around 2.4K Km on this bike. The only issue I'm having is mileage. It is stuck at a constant 28-29km/l as per console(whether maintaining at 60-80km/h or cruising at 115km/h). I have tried calculating manually and it does end at 28-30kml. Asked the SVC, they told its FI, so no tuning can be done, drive till 6K kilometers, until bore of the engine comes free.
Till now i dont think so but in future maybe this will surely let the engine performance down...Originally posted by Harrisoncool View PostSo its just that rattling sound... any drop in performance?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hey Guys, posting after a long time. I've been riding Pulsar 220 since 7-8 years and now I have decided to buy a new bike. After reading all the post in this thread, I've decided to go with FZ25.
I see a lot of small problems and couple of concerning ones, but still, I opted to buy it. I believe that it will be a proper upgrade for me coming from a Pulsar, so I've booked a white FZ25 today, it's the only colour not available and needed booking. The AD promised me a delivery on Monday. I also like the black one, will finalize the color on Monday once I see the White one live. I haven't seen the white one live.
So, waiting for Monday and hope I get a bike without any those mentioned problems.
Now off to PDI thread."Your worst enemy cannot harm you as much as your own unguarded thoughts."
Yamaha FZ 25 (2017)
Pulsar 220F DTS-i (2011-2017)
Honda CMX 250 (Rebel) (2003-Current)

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I do get some noise after driving 30KM of commute when engine gets hot, but till now never felt any performance lag, and machine is getting smoother gradually, I have June manufactured batch. I got delivered on 23rd Jul. ODO=1700Originally posted by jatinkmr911 View PostI think there is a drop in performance. The bike just does not feel as sprightly as before. That "Torque wave" feeling is gone.
Maybe it's placebo. Maybe there isn;t any drop in performance. But it affects you psychologically in such a way that even if there isn't any drop in performance, you feel that there is some.
Honestly, i don't know. I need some other bike to compare with.

I got it on the 30th of July, 2017.
Can someone else post a video of the sound of the bike so that i know that its not just me?

Check if both the wheels rotate freely, while on center stand, and pads are not rubbing with rotor, I am @ 1700 on ODO and both brake pads looks good as new, hardly any wear till now.Originally posted by Yagi315 View Post

I did do it! But didn't have the allen keys for opening the unit. Borrowed them, opened and inserted the white LED bub. Looks great now! Thanks much!you need to removed 10 screws for this simple job. its straight forward.

I did about 60 odd kms yesterday in heavy rains and bumper to bumper traffic. No engine noises anywhere. Mine has just done about 300 odd kms and August Manufactured - Atleast that's what the showroom guys said. They have rectified the mistakes maybe??Originally posted by danishmomin View PostI do get some noise after driving 30KM of commute when engine gets hot, but till now never felt any performance lag, and machine is getting smoother gradually, I have June manufactured batch. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I have tappet noise issue during 1st service SC peoples ignored the issue by saying "we hear nothing".
then i tried with different SC which is a little far 25km ,they are admitting there is tappet noise & they also said it can be adjusted.
there will be no engine issue due to tappet they confirmed.
they offered me 2 choices 1. we will fix it now 2. we can do that on next servicing.
i chose 2nd one.
i got a tip from their fi expert technician that please ride this bike hard ,dont pamper it much else it will show problems ,its a rev happy machine
engine will settle quickly if you ride hard .
Technician also said he is getting 90% fz25 bikes with tappet noise , he advice to do the setting change after a while (lets say 3000km) not before that.
Now i ride around 35km daily ,tappet noise trigger around 2km mark but i hardly notice now with my helmets on .(try hearing the tappet noise from left side of your engine)
Post 1000 km update
I dont Face Any performance issue not a bit.
I got used to its braking which i think more than sufficient for me.
I have adjusted headlight myself & then i dont have any problem riding 120 kmph during night time(headlight is more than average not poor at all).
Engine heat has gone down drastically as i pile on more kilometers.
Gears are smooth now(not butter but better).
Engine smoothness is going up day by day.
Mileage is 41 now (i drive mix 20% time 100+ , 60% time 60-80 , 20% time in lower gears 20-30)
average fuel economy meter working well (within 2-4 kmpl range when comparing reserve to reserve)
Only Issues Are With Tappet(with helmets on during riding i cant hear a thing) & Rear Tyre Huger.(finally rainy season is going to over so less worried with huger)

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Today while cleaning the bike noticed that rear wheel does get stuck a bit.. had a similar feeling for front so had got that checked..Originally posted by danishmomin View PostI do get some noise after driving 30KM of commute when engine gets hot, but till now never felt any performance lag, and machine is getting smoother gradually, I have June manufactured batch. For front they said the rubber part was all gone and so there was a issue and the sound used to come.. after new brake pads it was fine..
For rear there is no sound but while rotating the wheel it does get stuck a bit.. it's not very free..

Future can be anytime from tomorrow to years to come. Assuming by future 3 years down the line, irrespective of what vechile it is, performance will go down. Thats due to wear and tear. But how much drop, depends on how well it is maintained.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi folks,
Anybody experiencing vibes issue? Mine is relatively new and done around 400km. I don't cross 4k rpm as break in period is on. Mostly its a sedate ride between 52kmph to 57 kmph. But sometimes take it to around 75/76 as that's the way I do break in. Not keeping it constant. However crossing 60kmph I feel lot of vibes creeping in and riding for around half an hour with the same speed above 60 I feel my hands getting numb .
I took it to SC, the manager confirmed there is a tappet noise but that will be settled during first servicing.. Gears are mostly okay but it troubles sometimes up shifting from second to third in low speed.

I have experience with Bajaj & Honda products. I understood only one thing Bajaj has a myth of not good in maintenance. ITS NOT TRUE. It all depends on user how he rides his/her machine and maintains it. Even the legendary CBR250 also had lots of issues. Don't be bothered by issues. because every bike has it's own set of niggle. Even Harleys also has this. FZ25 is a peppy bike , fun to ride has it's own sets of issues. And the breaking in properly does matter a lot. If not done properly it will definitely take a toll at your machine with its mileage maintenance and performance. But those shouldn't be a concern to stay away from this beauty.Originally posted by robean-gyalchen View PostHey Guys, posting after a long time. But for you coming from 220 cc I don't think it will be a much of upgrade. For guys coming from 150cc or lower , it is a proper upgrade. However I suggest you to take a spin not from showroom but preferably from some friend of yours if you have anyone known. As this will help you understand the bike better than a demo ride form show room.
