    1. If you take a look at dominar it's built quality is not good
    2. Duke and RC are not at all suitable for heavy traffic and they will give you less mileage
    3. fz25 built quality is good mileage you can expect Upto 45kmpl and it's quicker than Duke 200 and Duke 250.

All bike comes with a disadvantage you have to modify it according to your need.
Really ??? Domi is by no means a bad bike one ride all u need to feel what is has to offer.
Not saying that fz is any less but most issues in domi are over hyped. And both these bikes stands in diff class and ment for diff kind of riders.
All bikes has one issue or other.

Then Gixxer is also good but it lacks pillion comfort and may not suit me. I am well built 28yr guy.

But I m waiting for ABS version . This bike is only 20000 cheap on road from RS200 that has a ABS. I badly wanted an ABS , I feel it will help in mountain roads and Snow that my bike may face ?

Hey guys plz throw some light on utility of ABS in snow of mountains of Manali/Jipsa/ leh etc. If a bike has special Snow Tyres : ; ;studded with pins ;then how difficult/dangerous it remains in practically to ride without ABS?
Don't Snow Tyres ensure that bike behave just normally on snow just like in Tarmac? Or still skidding chances are high ?
In close turns of mountain how much speed u guys riDe.? Balancing for safety and mile munching both ?
And finally do snow tyres make it more dangerous to ride in non snow mountain paths which will also come along snow paths?

Its quite confusing to calculate all this without some1 experienced guide here. That why I m holding my bike buying and thinking to wait till abs is added in April 18 . But I really really want that beauty now. So should I wait ?
hardcore dirt or snow riding is better without abs. you are required to lock rear wheel at times. also imagine you are on a slope with mud and bike wheel still rotating when you actually want it to lock/stop.

      ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

on mountain roads i normally dont cross 60 kmph if its steep valley on one side. say on roads near mussorrie. on my r15 on last visit to mussoorie, some chicken strips were left. to completely remove them you need to take corners at 90-100 kmph. those speeds i dont think are sane on those roads.

if you are that much interested in off roading, i say get a legit dirt bike. upcoming improved himalyan with fixed niggles, or a new honda bike are likely to launch. fz while a great bike is focused on road use and some fun around corners.

U are right on point with abs and off-roading. But again depends on how much off roading a user would do on a street bike and abs is a life saver in most condition and can be easily deactivated by removing the designated fuse.
And ur second point is also valid one should look for proper off road style bike. But i would personally still over look the big H no matter how much i like it. And best bet would be to wait for honda or ktm to laugh an affordable dual purpose bike.

This was not done during the first time the tank was filled to brim.
So, around 3.45 litres were poured, then I asked him to stop, and I am sure the bike could have taken a little more.. Now calculating, it gives ~28. Which I feel is not accurate, as I assume I didn't do a proper tank full the first time nor the second..

Anyone know how to do a proper tank full?? I mean it comes to the brim and stays there, but if we pour some more it shallows that and maintains the brim level :/
No need to fill up to the brim. Once you reach reserve fill 10 ltrs (note down the reading) then next time you reach reserve, take the reading. The difference between the 2 readings divide by 10 will give the mileage

First service done at 993 kms.

Had oil leak from starter motor, engine head and leg guard mounting bolts (*) in the front of the engine. All rectified. Chain cleaned only with pressure wash and lubed.

At the time of delivery, battery was dead. Mechanic unnecessarily fingered the battery in disguise to tell me something and he failed. Finally asked him to check battery voltage. Battery voltage was 9 volts. Asked him to jump start. Took delivery of the bike had a 7 kms running and found bike can start. Checked again in the morning, bike started without any trouble.

SVCs are not that sincere in checking the bike before delivery of their own.

Sorry for poor picture of the bill.

I do not want to do hardcore dirt snow. But just want to travel to ladakh Jipsa leh etc like every other rider . For tht purpose what is utility of ABS?
What is utility of special Snow Tyres?

Also do RE Thunderbird do better then fz25 in those situation? I m shying from RE Thunderbird due to its cruiser handlebar , handling on tight corners in mountain might be dangerous?
              .
And peoples say that RE CLASSIC is quite uncomfortable sitting position for long rides

Though Re Himalaya seems to do all I want buy it's too costly for me. Inspire if u say that there is no option else Himalaya then I may buy it.
Is current Himalaya model has too much niggles ,?

Had shifts would get better with usage and more oil changes. U can try clutch play adjustment for same there should always be 2 to 3mm play in the lever or whatever is mentioned in the manual.

It is gonna take time before gears are smooth. Almost 5k on odo. What SVC will do until there is a real problem. Though engine oil can make a slight difference like Veedol Super Swift 10w40 is an awesome oil.

I noticed my FZ left panel was opened by dealer as it was not fitted correctly. Now I opened and fit correctly myself. I noticed the battery belt was not in place and there is no negative terminal cap on the battery. Only the red one is there. Can you guys confirm if you have it the black cap? If anyone has already opened it.

Hi. I did open mine a while back. There is a battery strap. And the terminal cap is correct. Only red is there. The service center was careless with my side cover too and fitted incorrectly. But the material is flexible to a degree and didn't break so all good.

Mods would stop being over enthusiastic if you followed simple rules and discussed relevant bikes in the relevant ownership threads. Need info on D400? Hop on to the dedicated thread for the same. Also, an odd post or two doesn't hurt, but continuous threads to OTs will be deleted.

Would make mods' lives easier too. Thanks!
