  • Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences

Love to see more FZ25 experience in this thread other than comparisons.

Anyone done first service? What all things done and approximate costs?

Precisely. It's a healthy discussion going on here with zero name calling or ill intentions. No need for a lid or being slapped on the wrist by the mods.

But do I go around bashing the Ninja250, or spam other threads on how great the CBR 250 is? No. Do I declare that 160+ speeds are dangerous for Indian roads just because my bike can't do it? No.
No one is bashing thrashing anyone leech bro. That is what online motorcycle forum is all about, untill and unless foul language and personal attacks are there.

"Ab aise discussions xbhp pr nahi honge to kya ghar me family and noob friends ke sath kare" jinko motorcycles ke bare me kuch na pta ho? Why so serious man? Of course thread must not contain extra OT but thoda bhut mazak to corporate meetings me bhi chalta hai.

Fz25 is better than ns any day in highway,as it has very tall gearing with fi and that extra 50 cc advantage, 100kmph comes @6500rpm.It was butter smooth on speeds above 80 with better mileage over 40.Because i travelled yesterday for 150kms non stop in highway at 11:30 to 2:00 in afternoon and I did not felt the heat in my legs.

Can any of the owners confirm if bike attracts any undue attention?

One of my wish list while coming from r15 is more stealthy bike that blends in. After almost a decade on road, one would think r15 would not attract any unnecessary attention but public thinks otherwise.

Fz to my eyes looks ordinary that will do this well but saw a couple of reviews on youtube where rider observed it was attracting fair bit of attention.

[QUOTE=ramprasadkamineni;1287046]Is there anything mentioned in the manual about the injector cleaning interval??

I heard that they should be cleaned at every 5k kms
                  Is that true?[/QUOTE

                  yes ; every 6000 kms

could you also share the snapshot of the diagnostic test report of the bike. it would be of great help

The reason i have the FZ is the refined engine, torque, smooth engine, pillion seat and small tweaks it has such as LED lights, LCD panel etc. I guess i had my fair time with the Duke's hooliganism which i enjoyed and now i definitely to need move on. FZ has that charm which Karizma had at a point in time with relaxed engine and smooth power delivery. I feel this one perfect with the 250cc that too coming from Yamaha.
Don't you think that the brakes are weak compared to Duke 390? I ride a RS200 and would want to switch to FZ25 as it's impossible to ride my bike in peak traffic as radiator fan air will burn your legs. I felt my bike has better brakes with single channel ABS compared to this. I love this bike but not confident that I can slam brakes like how I do on my bike.

How is your experience riding this bike after using a dual channel ABS bike ???

Why do you want to make this switch? I dont think it makes sense. I have not ridden rs but have experience with ns. I think both fz and ns heat up equally and none of 2 bothered me with heat.

You will have to lay down fair bit of cash for whatever small benefits you will get.

And no, brakes are strong point on fz. They give great feedback. Abs would be better but is not missed. I personally would ve perhaps got non abs even if it were an option.

                            Few problems I am experiencing,
                            1. My hand is paining after driving almost 15km every time. ( driving more than a week)
                            2. I feel lots of heat at my legs
                            3. I cant get speed more than 60 km, is it purposefully done ?

                            Anyone experiencing same ?

Yes the brakes are far superior with dual channel and ABS but you have understand Duke need such brake for it's power and use. Meanwhile on the FZ, brakes are good enough, they aren't too hard or quick. They won't lock your tyres too quickly during panic braking which will be also am advantage during rains. There's a good feedback from the brakes when using them in street or stopping from high speeds. I don't expect much from a commuter bike

Well I personally never thought that R15 should attract any extra attention. In fact I remember one R3 owner mention that he switched from Ninja 300 to R3 because people gave less attention to it (because it looked a little bit like R15)

Personally i would say that as long as the bike is in a discreet color (like black...noticed a white Fz250 almost instantly while riding a few days back) and doesnt have too loud or sweet of an exhaust note most people wont notice it while riding. While parked well the led lights might draw some attention but not by much. You could ensure that the bike is safely parked at least most of the time. Also in large cities like Bangalore even bikes like this dont remain exclusive for too long.

Among the 250cc bikes this one should draw less attention than CBR250 or the duke 250 for example. Owners should be able to tell you more.
