      1. Check proper tightness of battery terminals
      2. Check rear fender alignment to tyres.
      3. Odo should not be 0 and more than 10
      4. Check for any visible damage to paint and seat.
      5. Check all fluids level and any leakage.
      6. Idle the engine and see it should not stall after warm up for 2-3 minutes.
      7. Check the connection of meter wire and nearby area for any hand stains.
      8. Check throttle, clutch and brakes smooth operation.
      9. Start and stop warmed engine rapidly and randomly.
      10. Take a short test ride. They will not allow you before temp registration but force them for atleast a km.

Yeah, I've been given the same answers here in Chennai at a couple of dealers. Other places have already started registering, wonder when the problem is going to get resolved in TN. Because of this, the dealers aren't even providing test rides

P.S: A dealer told me the problem with RTO is, Yamaha/or concerned party accidentally gave the spec of the Fz25 as BS3 bike, which is why the approval was denied. And now they are trying to get it corrected.

The dealer told it should all be sorted out in the next 2 weeks, and that the registrations would commence before the end of April.

                hello xbhpians
I am new to the site and would like to know which oil is used in FZ 25 and the estimated cost for a paid service. I have booked FZ 25 and it should get delivered in 15-20 days as informed by the dealer. is the fuel tank metallic?

Finally received my FZ few days back.
Rode for ~250 kms and below are my initial impressions.

                  The Good -
                  1. Engine refinement levels are excellent.
                  2. It looks bulky but very nimble and agile in city traffic.
                  3. Seating ergonomics are spot on.
                  4. Pillion seat comfort is good.
                  5. Throaty exhaust is addictive.

                  The Bad -
                  1. Gear up-shifts, it's really hard, maybe more kms will smooth-en it out.
                  2. Quality of plastics are questionable, especially the ones that are just below the seats, they flex a lot with minimal pressure. Only time will tell.
                  3. Brakes, though it's progressive it needs some effort to apply. Initially nothing happens when you pull the lever and then it comes alive. Once you are used to it should be OK.
                  4. Console - POOR. It is very basic and looks dated on an otherwise modern bike. Gear indicator solely missed.
                  5. Headlights - OK. All led is sort of marketing gimmick I suppose, low beam is acceptable and high beam is useless, maybe I need to get the alignment right, so will reserve this space.

That's all for now. I will keep updating as and when I find something interesting or useful to others, until then bye.

You are paying high amount for led headlight unit and getting peanuts? I m sure unit will cost 5000+ but if it can not lit up the roads then waste of money..

True. Especially when you can get an AES/Morimoto projector setup for under 6k, which light up the roads like Christmas and have absolutely no spillover spread above cut-off point that which could blind oncoming traffic.

Headlight unit isn't that bad. Better than conventional and not as good as it comes in Dominar. It has 2 LED for low beam and 1 for high beam. The light is crisp and illuminates properly.

The high beam set up has to be tweaked a little, the factory settings was not good for vertical throw, it was just pointed beam. After increasing the height of the beam now its good, much better than factory settings. I'll post a pic of low beam and high beam later tonight. The high beam horizontal throw is not that good though

The one main advantage of LEDs are during day time. The light looks good as DRL and also one can see the light in your mirror as far as from 1km.

Ignore if the question is irrelevant or nooby..But is it possible to mod the 3rd headlight to light up for low beam also? Could it not provide more illumination/brightness when done?
Also, can't we plug-n-play replace the stock Led bulbs with more powerful ones?

I'm not sure which parts you are referring to, but almost all parts under the seat flex too much. I also noticed this in my test ride before purchase, but I was OK with it.
I read about headlight adjustments, visiting showroom soon, hence will reserve my final verdict on them and post an update here.

Don't get me wrong when I said they are OK, area illuminated by low beam is crisp and clear and way better than conventional halogen, but the spread isn't wide enough for me, my worry is high beam, it's just a dot, maybe as others said adjusting it should give better results.

Are you serious? I've pretty much heard "end of the month" since the last 6 weeks!

First, the registrations were to commence before the end of March - Then came the BS3 fiasco.

And now it's moved to end of April?
