Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences

Hello Guys!Posting on the forum after a long long time!
I got the bike delivered on 21st March and till date I have done 1100kms out of which 70% highway and 30%city ride. The engine seems bullet proof as always the case with Yamaha but the refinement level of this 250cc cannot be compared to the 150cc mill(too smooth).Gearshifts were a bit hard than normal as reported by few members here but after chain adjustment shifting has got better.
Service Update:
First service done at 850kms
Engine oil changed-Yamalube 10w40 JASO MA Fully Synthetic(specially formulated for FZ25 engine only)-₹375/800ml
Total quantity required-1350ml(with oil filter change)
Oil filter-₹167(same as Yamaha R15)
Chain lube-Tribocor Super Lube TC205(DIY)
Tappet setting done
Mileage:37-38kmpl
I had got the leg guard fitted on my bike but removed it the next day since it was touching the front mudguard at bumps.
Mods planned:Bar end mirrors,adjustable levers
D.I.Y-Valve clearance setting RTR180
D.I.Y-RTR180 brake fluid replacing/brake bleeding
D.I.Y-RTR180 brake pad replacing/cleaning
Exploded view of Mikuni BS-29 carb
A motorcycle functions entirely in accordance with the laws of reason, and a study of the art of motorcycle maintenance is really a miniature study of the art of rationality itself.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
People with more bike knowledge correct me if I'm wrong.. But since the max power comes in at 8000Rpm, I believe it's justifiable to go up to ~8200 RPM to get the maximum out of the gearing as well as up shifting into the right point of the power curve..Originally posted by atulmnh View PostAditya, i have seen you mentioning lot many times about the refinement of this bike at 7K rpm. Bike draws max torque at 6k rpm. So why going after 7K rpm only?

i believe sweet spot for this bike will be at 5500-6500 with enough power at reserve for quick overtaking.Originally posted by ramdante View PostPeople with more bike knowledge correct me if I'm wrong.. Couldn't agree more. At 5500-6500 it can cruise at 80-95kmph easily, which is enough for the highway cruising in a relaxed way.Originally posted by atulmnh View Posti believe sweet spot for this bike will be at 5500-6500 with enough power at reserve for quick overtaking.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi just booked my fz25, coming from the tnt 300 & r3 the bike seems to be very good for the asking price.
Engine is smooth, very less vibrations,
1. Just wanted to check with u guys if anyone has tried motul oil in this bike.
2. How does the bike handle heat in traffic.
3. I want to get rid of the exhaust it looks ugly, anyone tried any aftermarket one?As I gaze upon your beauty, I think to myself, "never have I seen an angel fly so low".

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I got a call from Yamaha corporate customer support. They confirmed delivery will start by coming Monday or Tuesday positively. He told approval was received recently.. Will check with dealer and let u knowOriginally posted by Mani_K View PostHere's the explanation I got today:
The first lot of bikes came with a Form 20 for each vehicle quoting as BS3 standards met, as they came in the month of March 2017 expecting to be registered the same month. This was despite the bikes being BS4 variants. Now these bikes are to be sent back to Yamaha plants to be reissued correctly.
The second lot that arrived is the one that has the RTO approval with BS4 and hence the insurance was done on it.
Now the second problem, in RTO bike is registered as FZ 25 but the invoice received from the company is FZ 250 (or vice versa). If this error is omitted by the RTO inspector, then the dealer says he can register my bike before Friday, else have to wait for the correction in invoice (this does not require the bikes to be sent back).
Trouble is, all of this has happened only with the bikes sent to the state of TAMIL NADU! [emoji35][emoji35][emoji35][emoji35][emoji35]

I don't think the reason given are adequate, because the bikes received were all with the form 22 as bs4.Originally posted by vsbharani View PostI got a call from Yamaha corporate customer support. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Just got my new fz25 few weeks back, guys I am pretty new at biking please help me and clarify me here.
I noticed some unwanted kind of vibrating sound from the engine while riding and revs at around 4500-5500. Also while idle and giving revs it creates the same sound which I feel is not quite ok to hear. Is it because of the new engine or it will smoothened itself after say 500 - 1000 kms. Help please
