Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yesterday eve I called the dealer. They confirmed that RTO approval receivedOriginally posted by Mani_K View PostSo we're left at the mercy of the Yamaha dealers?
If only, Suzuki had also reached the market quickly with a 250/300 Gixxer Fi that could accommodate a 5'11 tall rider comfortably....unlike the 150 cc!!!
That would have sent these guys running off on their toes to keep customers happy.

Yup......the dealer informed me that he's ready to take it in for registration tomorrow or day after, as per my convenience.Originally posted by vsbharani View PostYesterday eve I called the dealer. They confirmed that RTO approval received
He mentioned that the RTO approval was received Thursday evening but since then it's been government holidays.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I have Purchased FZ-25 , After the first service of my bike i am hearing noise from my engine. After driving 10 km or so.Originally posted by Drifty View Post

Hello Guys!Posting on the forum after a long long time!
I got the bike delivered on 21st March and till date I have done 1100kms out of which 70% highway and 30%city ride. The engine seems bullet proof as always the case with Yamaha but the refinement level of this 250cc cannot be compared to the 150cc mill(too smooth).Gearshifts were a bit hard than normal as reported by few members here but after chain adjustment shifting has got better.
Service Update:
First service done at 850kms
Engine oil changed-Yamalube 10w40 JASO MA Fully Synthetic(specially formulated for FZ25 engine only)-₹375/800ml
Total quantity required-1350ml(with oil filter change)
Oil filter-₹167(same as Yamaha R15)
Chain lube-Tribocor Super Lube TC205(DIY)
Tappet setting done
Mileage:37-38kmpl
I had got the leg guard fitted on my bike but removed it the next day since it was touching the front mudguard at bumps.
Mods planned:Bar end mirrors,adjustable levers
When i enquired with service guy personnel he said it is the tappet sound and it is normal.
Actually I never used to get this kind of sound from my engine before giving the bike for service
Can any one help on this thing

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Sth similar is going on with me. The showroom, with which I had booked the bike was to deliver the bike by 10th April. But till date I hadn't got the bike. They keep saying that bike is not available in the city. Whereas, 2 other showrooms have the bike with them and they are willing to give me the bike on the same day I book the bike with them. I am not able to take out time from office works to visit any of those showrooms in their working hours. Dunno what game is going on.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostI don't know is it true but here also where I booked showroom not delivering bike saying that rto approval is still pending and it will take 4 more days? While other showroom ready to deliver.

Anyone experiencing same ?
Update:-
1. No pain in my hands now, I think it is was due to tight clutch which became smooth now.
2. I am not experiencing heat like before even if driving 40 km continuously.
3. Engine becoming smooth day by day, can catch more speed now easily. 300 km completed.
RTO registration not done yet, more than 2 weeks passed.
Anyone in pune knows which showroom is providing accessories ?
Happy driving !!!

I reckon this is the second to add to the Yamaha stable, after the R3. Just curious about the steeds in your stable currently.Originally posted by fusioncoast View PostHi just booked my fz25, coming from the tnt 300 & r3 the bike seems to be very good for the asking price.
Engine is smooth, very less vibrations,
1. Just wanted to check with u guys if anyone has tried motul oil in this bike.
2. How does the bike handle heat in traffic.
3. I want to get rid of the exhaust it looks ugly, anyone tried any aftermarket one?
Yes, a new engine in all probability will heat up a lot then normal. The engine still being the bed in process, heats up, produces strange smells and what not. These are common, yes some vibrations above certain RPM too are possible. Let the bike clock in more than 5k and proper oil changes at the recommended intervals would make sure the engine gets progressively better.Originally posted by Xothana View PostJust got my new fz25 few weeks back, guys I am pretty new at biking please help me and clarify me here.
I noticed some unwanted kind of vibrating sound from the engine while riding and revs at around 4500-5500. Also while idle and giving revs it creates the same sound which I feel is not quite ok to hear. Is it because of the new engine or it will smoothened itself after say 500 - 1000 kms. Help please
6500 is the right RPM for the FZ 250 to be it its ideal sweet spot for torque, engine durability and what not. Torque always comes first, though power and torque are not that different. though they are very closely related. Well, technically they are just the physics of getting the work done (nope, me ain't a physicst). An engine operates best at it's RPM between the torque and power band, but anything more than the power band is just straining the engine and parts wear. Keep it in the middle and that's the sweet spot.Originally posted by ramdante View PostPeople with more bike knowledge correct me if I'm wrong.. But since the max power comes in at 8000Rpm, I believe it's justifiable to go up to ~8200 RPM to get the maximum out of the gearing as well as up shifting into the right point of the power curve..
Cheers!

The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Will be selling the r3 soon as due to a unplanned but lucrative investment opportunity, but will miss the r3.
For now will hang on to the fz25.As I gaze upon your beauty, I think to myself, "never have I seen an angel fly so low".
