    Yes Sir,

The bike has been registered and I'm plying around with the new number plate since last Friday.

The RC book takes a couple of weeks or more to arrive, till then I've got my invoice and insurance papers in hand.

Has any one here on the forum booked their FZ25 from AIMS Yamaha Thane?

While booking they charged me an approximated (base+ Ext warrenty+ RTO + ACC/HC + Insurance) cost of 141000.

Now that I've the actual cost figures that were paid for RTO + Insurance there is a significant difference in the price charged and the amount paid (around 5500).

Can any body suggest is this the normal practice as they are not ready to accept this cost difference or justify the actual expenses.

Please let me know if anyone has encountered similar issue.

        Hi All,

Following this thread from long time and I want to clear my doubt.

Is it only me who is facing slow response from rear brake? Front brakes are OK but I can't stop my FZ25 fully by rear brakes.

        Please suggest or discuss.

These showroom people will never explain you everything in detail. They will have some hidden charges. Even for the road tax they will not say the exact percentage. Even in Bangalore, the showroom where i bought were not able to explain the complete breakup.

Dont know when will we get transperancy in this. Even they changed the price around 1000rs more which is additional to the quote they provided me.

If you ask more on this, they will say handling charge or brokerage for registration etc.

Did you service your bike recently? In my service, they have put some diesel or something on my rear disc and now it is not working. Waiting for them to fix it.

Rear brakes are built like that only in a sensible bike without abs, it should not lock your wheel in panic braking. Dont worry you will get used to this.

Even i do feel the same. It is not sharp but rather smooth and works fine. I do use front braking along with back. So i feel brakes are ok. May be they made it like that because it doesnt have abs.

                      Even i wasn't satisfied with rare break . Did a hard brake @ 60kmph i didn't feel disk lock up .
Then i understood why the break is like that

Guys, this is normal if the bike has just been serviced. Happens to my R15 as well after every service.
After the bike is serviced the final thing to do is spray chain lube ont he chain. This chain lube is sprayed generously and a lot of it ends up sticking on the rear disc. This does not allows the brake pads to grip the disc, as it keeps slipping due to lube.
The guy responsible for polishing the bike after service polishes the discs too, which makes the matter worse. The polish is wax based and slippery.

Both these foreign components will burn off in about 100 kms of riding. The heat and friction produced by applying the brakes removes the lube as well as the polish in a few day and the bite of the brakes will be back to normal.

To make the process faster, wash the disc with hot water and strong detergent (Surf excel, vim bar). Use old tooth brush to scrub the disc with soap and water, then rinse off with clean water.
                        Hope this helps.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Thanks Manish for response. Yes, after servicing and chain clean & lube session, I feel rear brake feedback is poor. Maybe I'm expecting more from rear one.

Yes Vinay, rear brake is OK but I think little more response from rear one should be great.

Thanks Ankit. I may need time to maintain balance in both brakes in panic braking.

                                Few inputs on brakes:
Brakes are good not razor sharp bite like R15 as the Fz25 is naked street fighter, and so fz25 has to be not sharp.

R15: has front heavy stance and in case of front emergency braking you can manage the handling as the whole load falls on handle and the tyre grips the road perfectly, unless you do this on a curve. The rear one does lock up but I found it to be good as it let me do the supermoto thing and the deltabox frame lets you in full control without hampering your balance.
FZ25: I had an Fz16 before and it had similar brakes like fz25 and what i learned in that bike as in case of sudden braking the handle is very light and turns away. Rear one has a less bite and it doesn't lock up in fz25. Its a good thing but makes me miss the bite of R15. The big fat tyre may be the cause for not letting the tyre lock. It has more weight and bigger rims despite the disc set-up being same (220mm nissin) like R15.

Also I have advised to my service guys to not touch any brakes with any oil/solution and the Diesel wash is a strict no-no.
                                Hope it helps.
