Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Bro shell is very good. I was using in my own vehicle as well. For the quantity, asc mechanic told to maintain at least 3L of petrol for better performance of FI. Never go below reserve stage.Originally posted by Mani_K View PostI'm still running mid way through the engine break-in period, here's a couple of questions:
I'm filling up the tank to the brim every time I hit the last marker on fuel indicator, before it starts to blink (done it for the second time now). In a scorching weather like here in Chennai, is it advisable to fill the tank up to brim or not?
I'm running on Shell V Power and plan to keep it that way, unless anyone has any bad experiences with that brand of fuel.
Before I filled the tank up now, the console showed an average of around 35 kmpl, I keep the revs under 5k with an occasional burst to 6k while on the highway (OMR) during nighttime.

Yes fill it to the brim, don't worry. Make sure it doesn't flow out or when the pump guy is removing the nozzle some of the petrol oozes out. On the tank. Avoid riding in reserve and definitely avoid running bike low on fuel since it's FI and might affect fuel pump.Originally posted by Mani_K View PostI'm still running mid way through the engine break-in period, here's a couple of questions:

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Filling it up to brim is not a good practice. When the temperature rises fuel inside gets vaporised. If it is filled up to brim , the vapour doesn't get place to move around inside the tank, this builds the pressure. Once a certain limit has been reached, chances of exploding is high.Originally posted by Mani_K View PostI'm still running mid way through the engine break-in period, here's a couple of questions:

There is a vapour releasing outlet near the mouth of the tank ..But still filling up to the brim is not advisable.Originally posted by Harrisoncool View PostFilling it up to brim is not a good practice. I've owned cars till date and this is my first bike in Chennai after a decade. I've never let any of my cars run below half a talk of fuel and would always fill it to the brim as they hit half way mark.
The only reason I had this question about my bike is, well you can see below!
It's a black one and damn it gets super hot in the day time, even if it's out in the sun just for a few mins.
Thanks buddy, I'll ensure I stick with Shell then.Originally posted by vsbharani View PostBro shell is very good. I was using in my own vehicle as well. For the quantity, asc mechanic told to maintain at least 3L of petrol for better performance of FI. Never go below reserve stage.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
My runin period is ruined by Duke 200 guy .
Yesterday he did overtake me on highway and showed thumbs down
I was in 50kmph in 5th
I got angry and raised the throttle it pulled from 50-130kmph after few minutes I couldn't find him 😂😂😂 now am in love with my bike .
Scared because I have done only 200km on odo and I touched redline 😥😥

Never rise up to taunts or challenges on the highways. A dangerous thing to do. There are way too many morons out there on the roads waiting to incite other riders into a road race.Originally posted by Rajathrajk View PostMy runin period is ruined by Duke 200 guy .

If it was a short burst to the redline, your bike's engine should be OK. Otherwise, hope for the best!Last edited by ALI.R; 04-29-2017, 12:36 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Completed 100 kms in first day. As it is my first product of Yamaha and riding motorcycles since 20 years, I must say this is very good quality and balanced product. Loving the torque in each gear.
Just one thing bothering me is after riding few kms and engine when get heated up there is continous metallic tick tick sound coming on riding as well as idling. Not in cold engine. I hope it is from tappet only. Else everything is smooth till now.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
went to get r15 serviced. great opportunity to jump onto fz25 and test ride it again.
today they just gave me the bike for test riding at my liesure.
it helped in cementing impressions further. comfort wise i think the bike is a bit on sporty side. the seat is hard. not like previous gen dukes but definitely made with feedback rather than all out comfort in mind. i wonder if its going to be as comfy as karizma or some other touring focussed machines.
for sport riding i could not find any compromises. sweeping corners i could easily do over 100 kmph. makes short work of all corners just like r15. front end is lighter than r15 and most feedback comes from rear tire and for street use i didnt find it to be all that inferior to r15. but it does'nt leans as hard or as confidently. so maybe riding it more will bring out more of its character.
overall felt more of a sport bike than a soft cushy tourer. am happy about that. no need to buy duke 200 for superior handling.
congrats. keep us posted.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostCompleted 100 kms in first day. As it is my first product of Yamaha and riding motorcycles since 20 years, I must say this is very good quality and balanced product. Loving the torque in each gear.
