  • Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences

This is my first post on xbhp I have always been a silent observer on this forum but finally I have a reason to post here. Just got fz25 two days back came to 1.36 onroad the RTO passing is done but the number is yet to arrive hence impatiently waiting for it. It is going to take 10 days that is what the dealer told me lets hope for the best. My previous bike was a Pulsar 150 despite what others say I loved that bike never let me down. I used to ride that bike hard despite it being a 12 year old machine it never gave any reliability issues. Hence it was a very difficult choice between the fz and the 200ns but went for fz solely because it has fuel injection.

While riding my bike home from the showroom I accidentally raced a bullet don't know if it was a 500 or 350. It happened when I had stopped at a traffic signal as soon as the signal went green I twisted the throttle thinking it was my pulsar 150 (muscle memory) the fz took off like a rocket atleast it felt like a rocket compared to the pulsar. The bike quickly went to 60. While this was happening I was also hearing tremendous amount of noise pollution from a bullet near by and knew for sure the bullet guy was giving the bike all it got. Needless to say the bullet didn't even come close.

After this incident I am extremely careful since it is such a powerful machine than what I am used to.

Yeah i too got from showrroom. But ladies footrest is not available officially for fz250. Check with them if it is yamaha genuine or retrofitting some other bike's accessory. I am waiting for skid plate which is not available till now.

Sure brake sound comes from new bike? Never heard such sound from karizma unless rainy season.

May be or may be not. When i installed new brake pads in my karizma there was chi chi sound for few 100 kms. Just wait for few kms, if remains then get it checked.

Here showroom ppl even doesn't know what is skid plate. I am also planning to protect oil cooler pipes from bottom and sideway with custom made aluminim plate bolted with leg guard.

In fi you have primarily injector which is connected by various sensors in engine. Injector is controlled by an ecu (computer).

Injector- device which has various sizes of holes to spray specific quantity of air fuel mixture as per input of various sensors. If you compare with carb then in carb there is only two holes of fixed sizes for spraying fuel- main jet, pilot jet.

For example during morning, temperature sensor in engine detects cold condition of engine and send this signal to ecu. Then ecu decides it has to spray fuel in engine in large quantity from biggest size hole in injector to burn fuel air mixture properly. That is why there is no choke in fi vehicles.

Regardibg fuel knob, fuel pump in fi vehicles can not run dry without fuel so due to safety factor there is no fuel knob.

I have a question. I read somebody mention about "reserve". Since bike doesn't have fuel knob, how would I know bike has come in reserve?

If you see last fuel bar start blinking then you have 2 litres of fuel remaining which as per manual is reserve fuel. You should fill fuel asap now.
