Sir, ride your bike a little more, say 10,000 kms. After a while you will realize, 21st century or 31st Century, there will always be people who suddenly turn without using signal, run across the road without looking, and others who overtake on bends. That's when you start using the horn, to warn people of your presence.

In fact, I advise you to buy a dual car horn and use it defensively, not offensively. Use it before sharp curves, use it when you see pedestrians crossing the road without looking, use it when you are overtaking another vehicle, and use it when approaching a signal less intersection on the highway. Use it whenever you see a car trying to join the road.

I don't intend to start a big debate on horn usage. These rules I have incorporated into my riding etiquette and I practise it everyday.

          .
Yes! That's what I've done. I use my horn when I need to inform someone of my presence, or something like that. I don't play the dhoom tune on it, like squids on activa :P. Polite honking please.

Bhai, quick question. Did you consider Dominar or was it not in the consideration ever? It might be a little off topic but I am on P220 now and before that I had D200. So just wanted to know what brought you to Japan from Austria?

Dominar was in consideration before i found out its OTR which was 1.72 in Hyderabad. It was considered only because of ABS.
But, apart from being de-tuned 390 engine and heavy-weight, it did not check my requirements.

Austria to Japan? I was already Japanese before Austrian .
I wanted to refined, smooth, fuss-free, simple, no frail ownership.

KTM is excellent until it encounters severe problem. Luckily my 390 has been largely problem free. Most of A.S.S. are not qualified or experienced to handle these complex issues.
FZ25 was bought for its simplicity.

2009 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme
                      2013 - KTM 390 Duke

Super stuff bhai. Helps a lot. Apart from saving $$, Yamaha can always be trusted if compared to Bajaj. My experience with Bajaj side of KTM Bajaj has always been really good. I was looking for either Dominar or Pre-owned D390 but your summarization has swung me back to Japan. [emoji5] [emoji16]

I was talking about the indicator buzzer and not the horn. Also it's close to impossible to ride in our streets without at least sensible honking. Though we all try to stray away from it, there are moments when we are forced to honk.

Any how, you will get buzzers outside for Rs 70 - Rs 100. It is easy installation if done some research.
Yeah, it's close to 100Rs. Will try to fit it.

Couldn't agree more with you Leech. Not to mention the infamous auto drivers in Chennai who just cut from one corner of a busy road/highway to other corner once they see a prospective passenger. One can love them, hate them, but just cannot ignore them. It's highly suggested even by some driving schools in Chennai to honk when we approach/overtake an auto.

                          Cheers!

Best traffic etiquette looks in Pune, very less almost nil honking on roads. Specially noticed at peak times at 8am and 6pm, with full of traffic but no horns from Chandni Chowk to Bhugaon.
                            Avoid noise pollution. Avoid honking.

Best traffic etiquettes in Pune? If traffic etiquette is a city, say Rome, Pune traffic is like Haley's Comet. People jump on the road, no matter what, red signals are broken everywhere, honking is equal to breathing, overspeeding, lack of decency and decorum.
