Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I have a question why you risk your life to go that speed that you can't control. Why everyone is looking for top speed... ....Originally posted by sauravalwaysurs View PostSo yesterday I took bike on open roads to test its top speed. I took 2 attempts and the bike couldn't go above 128-129 kmph on speedo. I was tucked in to reduce wind blast. I'm not a heavy rider (66kgs) and have clocked over 3600 kms. Also, it wasn't windy.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Those who are interested in Top speed, try to overgear FZ25 with some bigger front sprocket. Try to procure smaller rear sprocket and switch to these.
FZ has some amazing Low end torque and power. Over gearing should help those who are craving for top end.
Make a note, this chassis is good for around 120 (+/- 10) Anything above is not at all recommended to any level experienced ride. That thing is too light for these speeds too.

Hmm, never had those problems.
For the console, if it happens frequently them make a video of it and show it to the SVC, the console might be faulty. Not a big deal/problem but if it is faulty then there will be other problems in the future. If it happens in the SVC then the better. Have it resolved. I haven't faced this issue till date.
For the tank part, it might be due to the fact that the keyhole is not broken in yet? I have no idea, I'm just guessing here but try some lubricant there and see if it does smoothen out then buy some 10B (sketching pencils) and use the graphite in the keyhole.
Search for MC garage video on youtube. - Motorcycle Life Hack: How To Unstick Your Sticky Ignition Switch | MC GARAGE
I have done that and it works. It does not collect dust like other lubricants.
I have the same problems. There's nothing to worry about it. Apply some oil in the key hole. Regarding the console. Dont be worried. Its a digital console and it is this way or that way same for every bike.

Hello Kris,Originally posted by kris123456 View PostUsing Relays should fix this issue. As load would be diverted directly to the battery instead of onto existing wiring. All car Headlight upgrades go through relays. Looks like we are forced to use relays.
The only advantage being, when you take it to SVC, you can remove all relays and its associated wiring in few min. This shd help in retaining warranty. Once you get your vehicle back, spend around 15-20 Min, you have your Aux lights up and running fine. only downer being more learning curve for everyone.
I have enquired about light and horn upgrade. The SC told me just one thing . This relays doesn't come from a very reputed company so if it goes kaput in that case all the power will be coming from battery directly that also without our knowledge so if we are in touring in long run it may cause issue.
I ma not sure about the same. If anybody can confirm.

Yes you can. I have followed motomans break in method.Originally posted by Shamanth Gowda View PostIn user manual it's specified that during breakin period upto 500km 4-4.5k rpm should be maintained and from 500 to 1000 km upto 6k rpm. So is it safe to ride up to 6k rpm after 500 km? My odo reading is 505. Any suggestions? Thanks
My Summary as I understood it:
break in hard through all gears with heavy acceleration then de acceleration
play with the throttle never stay steady on it
make sure your bikes is warmed up for atleast 5 mins before you start this
change first oil at 500kms
ride like hell after you do this.
Avoid streets where you might get stuck in traffic.b SANE to b insane!

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Check tyre pressure again. I filled nitrogen a month back and was not able to go above 130kmph even fully crouched/ same direction of wind in any case. Last week I checked pressure and it was 20f/10r. Then corrected air pressure again and clocked 139 max many times after that.Originally posted by sauravalwaysurs View Post1.) .
3.) I assume tyre pressure should be ok as I have filled nitrogen 15-20 days back.
.
PS- I do top speed run on only on open and deserted expressway.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I don't think i should buy a bike just to get higher top speed. Indian highways can be nightmare. But on the other side, there is no harm in checking out how far "my own" bike can go "on an open highway" with minimal traffic.Originally posted by krishan..... Very true. 120 is max speed one can play easily with fz25..anything above for long time period is not safe..once in while top whack is ok though.Originally posted by kris123456 View PostThose who are interested in Top speed, try to overgear FZ25 with some bigger front sprocket. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello everyone ,
I took the delivery of my white FZ25 around 3 weeks back from Perfect Riders, Bangalore. Most of us here own an FZ25 ,so we're already impressed by it.
Let me write down some not so impressive things in my experience.
1. Since the day I bought it , the speedometer started acting weird. It (speedo and odo) would stop working exactly around 8-10 kms after my ride. Like it would be fine and once my journey hit 8-10 kms mark , the meter reading will become 0. A couple of times , it would start going crazy by flashing random numbers.
I park it for 30 mins and turn it back on , it'll be working fine.I took it to Showroom/SVC the next weekend and somehow convinced the SVC guy that the meter was indeed faulty , he said he has ordered the parts and will replace once it has arrived.
It has been 2 weeks and the SVC people keep giving me reasons as to why the parts haven't arrived.
I am not able to know my odo reading for service, FE calculation/speed limited roads.
Very frustrated because of this manufacturing defect.
2.The quality of plastic is not up to the mark.
The bike creaks when I sit on it. And there is this place where my thigh grips the tank .Where the white plastic merges into the "carbon fiber" plastic , the joint just doesn't sit flush. The white part pops out. I mean its just been 3 weeks. And the bike has never hit anything.
3.Clunky Gear shifts
I must have ridden 700 odd kms and I know its still in break-in period but riding this with sandals on is a nightmare. Half the times I'm not sure if it has shifted or not.
Tried a brand new Dominar , was in love with the gearbox.
I'm really happy with some aspects of the bike , but there are some quirks which make my whole new bike experience quite neutral.
Please do advice about the Speedometer sensor problem.Thanks.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
For Clunky Gear shifts, spray motul chain lube on the chain and put some oil into the gear shift lever mechanism. I did this and gear shifts are smooth. I think the factory sprayed lube is very less which might be the cause for hard shifts. My odo is 610. cheersOriginally posted by Whiplash View PostHello everyone ,

You can ask the SVC guys to take a look into it and fit the tank plastic cover properly.Originally posted by Whiplash View Post2.The quality of plastic is not up to the mark.
This is a common thing and the gearbox will become smooth over time.Originally posted by Whiplash View Post3.Clunky Gear shifts

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello People,
I have bought Yamaha FZ25 (Black color) two weeks ago. Have rode it for 515 Kms up-till now. The bike is giving avg of 31 KMPL only.
I am pretty much happy with the bike with respect to its performance and handling, my only concern is average.
And also, please suggest me some DOs and DON'Ts as i have done 500+ kms. My avg speed until now is 60-65 KMPH. Max i have touched 70KMPH on 5th Gear.Last edited by Harsh73; 10-11-2017, 05:05 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Congrats on the new bike buddy and welcome to the owner's forum. 31kmpl is quite low for FZ25 that's travelling at an avg speed of 60-65kmph. I'm assuming you're riding alone and not with a pillion. I got close to 39kmpl in my initial 1000kms(70% highway and 30% city - below 4.5k rpm). So for such an average speed, between 4-4.5k rpm, the average you're getting is pretty low and it needs attention. I suggest you take the bike to SVC guys and do a basic health check.Originally posted by Harsh73 View Post

For the initial 1000kms, just keep the bike below 4.5k rpm and occasionally take it till 5k. Maintain sufficient air pressure, clean and lube the chain around 500kms, be gentle on the throttle, and don't travel in same RPM for long time and vary the RPM(gently).
Cheers!Last edited by GandalfTheGrey; 10-11-2017, 10:22 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Guys on my fz25 , from last few days i hear a continuous beep sound from the time I turn the key on , and beeping continues even while riding , I know it's not a good sign, any idea where the issue is from ?
changed engine oil a couple of weeks back

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
You might hear the fuel pump prime and pressurize the fuel lines and the fuel pump stays on silently. If you can observe and listen to that sound, it should be emanating from the fuel tank, especially when you turn the key on. Get it checked if the sound is louder than normal. The pump should stay totally silent w.r.t to engine sound. Excess pump sound means trouble.Originally posted by Vajravelu View PostGuys on my fz25 , from last few days i hear a continuous beep sound from the time I turn the key on , and beeping continues even while riding , I know it's not a good sign, any idea where the issue is from ?

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END
