The throw is actually good in dark but in highway the throw is not deep enough against the incoming lights from opposite lane. Changed the rear view mirror to that of RE TB 350, it's very effective now. Will change the horn to Roots.

I will upgrade my tires to Pirelli SD soon. This should help me with stability & braking. The used to vibe a lot post 70kmph even after 1st service but now it is settling down slowly and the vibes have reduced a lot. But yeah pillion on board the bikes definitely gets unsettled post 100kmph if ridden harshly.
Be careful with any upgrades to electronics. It has a weak alternator and a battery from activa (scooters). The power from alternator just meets the power requirements of bike in stock form. Any upgrades, you might face issues on long drives (esp at night), because, you would be draining faster than your alternator can charge. Electrical engineers can comment and correct whereever needed. My comments are based on initial observations on specs.

Try to look for Fazer 25 changes. if it has same alternator and battery, then we can safely upgrade horns. because Fazer 25 has dual horn setup.

Would you please clarify "unsettled post 100kmph if ridden harshly"? so, it could be helpful to others. any vibrations on handle bars? or bike becomes unstable? or braking is not confidence inspiring at these speeds?

Thanks buddy for your inputs. The problem is FZ25 has single channel only for Horn, so I doubt if Fazer25 horns can be a direct fit. However I will check with my SC , the service manager is quite help full. Vibrations used to come up after crossing 70kmph only till I have hit 1400 kms. Post that the bike has started to settle down and vibrations now usually crops up at around 100kmph. But pillion on board if you are reaching triple digits with quick gear shifts it appears to be like:
        1. Changing lanes becomes little difficult.
        2. The bike feels unstable.
        3. tendency of fish tailing.

At the same time if you reach your triple digit sedately with pillion on board it doesn't appear to be unsettled. I have clocked 137kmph max riding solo. The bike felt unsettled at above 120 riding solo.
        b SANE to b insane!

We were in Goa to test ride the new Yamaha FZ25 motorcycle. Boy O Boy. This motorcycle has some really amazed us. Read Yamaha FZ25 Review here.

editor at rushlane quotes that the alternator is peaked at 70w. I am not quite sure how does it fare out but just giving out detail that i know of.

Hi everyone .. I got my 25 three weeks before .. I am a bit confused with the console ... everytime i key on the vehicle after parking (side stand) it for a while , fuel bar is showing the reading one point minus the actual bar point ... but it will get eventually restored as the bike runs .. I didn't find this problem when i park it using centre stand ..
is this a common problem or should it be tested .. ??

I don't think this is a problem, its because you have a digital gauge . It happens on my Nano and if I remember correctly it happened on my Civic as well.

Absolutely no problem here. The fuel sensor inside the tank will work more accurately when the bike is on the center stand. The fuel goes to one side of the tank, well a little bit of it, when it is on the side stand. Welcome to digital fuel gauge world. When you ride off, the fuel gets settled evenly inside the tank for the sensor to pick up good readings. Don't worry about it. Your FZ is absolutely in good condition.

It's common with most bikes. The fuel level should be taken only after riding the bike for a few mins, not while on side stand.

The engine heat is normal till your first service . But the refusal to start is new .

Also have to crank 2,3 to start again. When I turn off the ignition and turn on, the meter animation won't show properly. It's like no animation and straight into display. If I try again it works fine with animation. Don't know the cause

I do sometime get a little longer cran when the engine is hot, it might be due to the engine setting. New engile, getting hot and expanding and getting hard to turn by starter?
I'm just guessing, so take it with grain of salt.

By long crank I mean kkkkkk start, long one is kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk start.

Yes, the starter motor makes hiss noise when doing so. Only happens when the engine is hot. Have faced this issue with my gixxer also in hot conditions. So seems normal?

Oh no, didn't mean the hisss sound. I meant self sound (short) and it starts. On hot engine sometimes it takes twice that crank to start. So self sound may be for 2 -3 seconds and it starts.
