Took the bike for a long ride of 180km on highways and hills. Joy to ride in twistys and awesome exhaust note. But I felt the lack of 6th gear. Maintained speed below 65 which is around 4 to 4.5k rpm with varying throttle inputs. Avg shown was 38.1km which is pretty good considering I rode 50 km on hills. But actual mileage is around 41.

I have zero idea regarding that.Originally posted by krishan..... View PostBut how many litres have in the one bar on the fuel guage.
The method i use is Fuel Trip indicator to Fuel trip indicator (it's not that accurate, but still gives a pretty close estimation; if you go for higher fuel volume, ~8-10ltrs, the margin of error is much less).
If you can scroll back few pages, you will find the explanation of this method, i updated twice about my bike's mileage. And there are few others also who have done it differently, you can check theirs too.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Please stick to the grade oil mentioned in your manual book as using other brand engine oil with different specs/grade can void the warranty of your motorcycle..Originally posted by catcracker2 View PostHI,
I own a Yamaha FZ. Currently using Motul 7100 engine oil in my FZ.
Which oil i should use for top up whenever the oil level goes down.
(Motul 7100 has comparatively longer drain interval).
I dont have another bottle of Motul 7100 since it is bit expensive, can i use any other cheaper oil?
Is there any low cost alternative to use it for top up.
After your company warranty gets over, You can use same grade oil of any other brand while topping up however not advisable to use any other brand cheaper grade engine oil.. If you want to try 10w40 then shell is an good alternative to motul..

And please suggest what to do? Is the missing 6th gear in fz25 an issue? Do we feel the need of 6th gear?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Anyone here can ask you to choose, but that will be the individual's choice. You may or may not like it in the end. I would suggest you to take both the bikes for a test ride, list down your need for a bike, your finances and then zero it down. With regards to your question on 6th gear, you will feel the need for it in highway but 5th gear is tall enough to take you to triple digits.Originally posted by Pradhyumn98 View PostCheck this out.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Congrats bro, so you finally bought it. I have the July mfg aswell.Originally posted by Shamanth Gowda View PostAfter getting so many options for consideration, I finally bought white Fz 25 today. Till now I have not faced coin rattling noise from engine nor any other noise. Bike is manufactured in July. Also headlight seems good enough for city rides. Should check on highways. There is a sound from the headlight assembly whenever I go over potholes. Gear shifting is good enough. Have ridden 50km today. Avg kmpl is showing 27kpl. Hope it'll increase after piling more KMs. One thing I hate the most is not having the oil level indicator. As per manual we have to check using dip stick. Pathetic
I feel the same about the headlight, but fir Highways and Twisties you will need aux lights. I did a night ride on a highway with twisties and couldn't see shit. The average will increase, I'm getting around 37 in the city, almost 40 in the highway with break in speeds and Rpm.
Frankly, I don't mind the dipstick. My 220 oil level screen was getting blur and it was hard to read after 5 years.
I do have a mild tappet sound from engine when hot, I'm due for the first service so I will see if that goes away after tappet adjustment.
Overall, I'm satisfied with the bike, I'm sure you'll be too.

Thanks Paul, but I made a custom one already. Don't have a nice closeup pic but I'll upload it as soon as I get a chance. Thanks again, really appreciate it.Originally posted by paul.1911 View Post
This is all I have at the moment, hope you can see the Leg Guard, it's vastly inspired from the old picture of your Leg guard I had.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Thanks bro. Even I felt the engine harsh and viby after riding for 150km with breaks. It's still in breakin period hence getting hot quickly. During first service, SVC will put fully synthetic oil as per fellow riders. That will improve performance hopefullyOriginally posted by robean-gyalchen View PostCongrats bro, so you finally bought it. I have the July mfg aswell.

Use the Vehicle Identification Number. Also called as VIN. Its a unique number, which you give you all info about the perticular vehicle. when was it made, which month and year and other details.Originally posted by keith_j_snyder2 View PostHow do u check the manufacturing date?
