Insurance I didn't get from showroom i sent my chassis number and etc my friend he charged 3000rs. For insurance
On the accessories front , the skid plate is necessary based on my experiences .
When travelling two up , the bottom most part of the bike ( a big box part of the silencer ) scrapes the ground .

The crash guard is out of stock in the place I inquired . But considering to not get one now as a fellow rider here in this forum has stated that the crash guard was touching the front fenders or something like that while turning .

I am staying temporarily for an year or so in Kota.

I think within fortnight I can ride from Kota to Mumbai, if required to take bike.
You can simply get a notarized affidavit from an advocate for around Rs.500 with your current address in Kota. That should be sufficient to get it registered in RJ.
I did a similar thing when I bought my Dio (did not have a permanent address as i had just moved in to hyderabad and bought the scoot within a week of moving.. this was in 2007).
Kindly check this possibility.. should be easy.

I never experienced crash guard touching fenders or something it's perfect

Nowadays ...The scenario is different , adhar card with local address otherwise the rto agent will charge more .

My first post here. I bought the FZ25 recently. Changed from a AVL TB350 (2006 origin) to FZ25.

Has anyone done a handlebar swap as IamAditya has mentioned? I am contemplating the same.
2 options:
1. Universal Handlebar raisers
2. A Unicorn 150 handlebar

The cables/wires would need to be extended/changed in both cases. Has anyone tried that?
I am more inclined towards #1. But the cable length remains a worrisome issue.

Yesterday I visited the service center, while waiting for the bike came across brochure of Yamaha accessories, they have risers for fz handle bar , I would suggest try the service center if they can fix the risers for you ,

The fazer version of fz25 would not be a good choice since the 2 valve sohc engine is not made for very high speeds hence the fairing wont add much top speed
secondly it will ruin the amazing acceleration that this engine is designed to deliver.

FZ25 was never meant for higher speeds. It is a perfect power commuter/tourer.

The fairing is not meant to increase the top speed. It is to help deal with windblast/drag (along with the extra windshield) while touring. Also the fairing won't affect the acceleration much.

It is also more similar with Honda CBR 650F. And i believe the actual bike wont differ much compared to the render.

They officially said that there might be Fazer 250 during the FZ launch. And we saw the spy pics too.

Thanks all for the information. Looks ridiculous move my government. There are loopholes, which can be tapped, by the way rules are not so intelligently framed, by so called "sarkar".
Just want to ride in Kota, with number plate of Maharashtra, ultimately I have to take my bike back to Mumbai after an year.

easier way would be to buy in Mumbai, then take bike via train to where you wanna use it.

i still dont understand procedures and rules set by govt. the less i have to deal with them, the better.

Hi, After 14 years of riding Bajaj pulsar 150cc. I am finally contemplating of moving over to Yamaha FZ25 in July. I went for a test ride in Pune and I had few questions before going for it.
1. The dealer says there are no accessories available for the bike (Yamaha has not fed the part numbers in their ERP and hence the dealers are not able to order it- so no leg guard and other stuff- I read that dealers give helmets with the bike but none of the dealers in Pune agree to that.
2. Pillon seats are higher- will it be an inconvenience to the pillon rider especially on a longer ride
3. On road city mileage around 38- Is that the real case?
4. Any idea about the price impact after GST rollout (1st July), I will have to prepone the buying plan in case of significant impact on the higher side(I had read that tax component of bikes with more than 350cc will be increased)

I made a mistake earlier and have to agree with the necessity of the skid plate. The exhaust part is indeed vulnerable to scraping on high unscientific humps. This happens only if one does not slowdown. So yes, the skid plate is very useful.

I have ridden on potholed stretches but not yet experienced the crash guard hitting the mud guard yet. It's also well made.

Rear view mirrors are restricted in view if one is bigger than usual or if wearing a heavy jacket. Will see for some more time and most probably change them. The counter point to putting on something wider is reduced ability to squeeze through tight traffic.

Hi I can help with a part of your questions.

1. This is not correct. When I got mine in Bangalore the dealers had stock of everything.

2. It's very comfortable to sit on. Only getting on and off can be tricky if one is not used to it.

3. Mileage I am getting a consistent 41 in the city with a mix of traffic and open roads. I do put the vehicle off at signals and follow sedate riding well within 100kmph.

4. No idea. In Karnataka as it is one of the highest rates we were paying. Not sure how GST will affect you.

Hey I am from Pune I can help you out,
1. Accessories are not available at single showroom especially in Pune, tried/called almost all showrooms in Pune. I didn't get helmet too ( Anyways get good helmet, showroom will provide you any cheap random helmet)
2. Pillion seat is comfortable, No complain from pillion after riding 200km long drive.
3. mileage is real, I get around 37
4. ( No info)

AFAIK, only bikes with 350CC and above will attract GST.

BTW, another version of Fazer 250
