If you are new to these machines then abs would be a wise choice
I would rather ride a bike with ABS than ride my Luck.

True that if you know how to ride, ABS may not be much of use.
But considering immaculate traffic sense people have and excellent roads (post rains) we have. ABS must be top of the list on safety features.

Its like saying my Car does not need Airbags because i wont crash.

ABS has helped be thrice in not loosing control of front and rear tires.

There is must be reason for Government to make ABS mandatory for motorcycles above 125cc.

Problem is, why did Yamaha ignored this!

Has Yamaha started selling spares for the FZ25 already? The usual mantra of my local Yamaha spares center is, "Spares not yet arrived sir, I'll take your order and update it in our systems and you will get your spares in two weeks." I go back to the spares center after two weeks, just to hear these same lines once again EVERY TIME!

Guys from Indiaspraes.in said that they are working on the parts catalogue for the FZ25 and spares will be up on sale on their website soon, I remember them saying the same for R3 about 2 years ago and still haven't updated it. Just wanna enquire if someone has already bought any non consumable spares for their FZ25 assuming the bike is relatively new on the market.

Either one should be extremely talented or stupid to turn OFF ABS.

And as far as the skidding issues, the guy just misunderstood Traction control with ABS.

Yes absolutely abs is a welcome addition. But if you want the bike where abs is not there, then you need to adjust with non abs. And study how to brake efficiently without skidding even under panic situations.
I know it's easy to say but it needs lot of practice.
You need to brake as it is in a panic situation where nobody's on the road. Likewise you'll be able to brake easily and not skid under panic situations

I've ridden 390's with abs off under my intrest and to check out the brakes if there were no abs present.
I'm not 100% confident in braking without skidding.
Bt I was able to stop without locking up the rear wheel under many situations

As you said. It comes with loads of practice and need to have excellent reflexes to do so.
            Unfortunately, majority of them don't.

And as i said earlier, I would prefer to ride a bike with ABS to add that extra level of safety than ride my luck.

on topic of ABS, I normally practice defensive riding. it all comes down to bike. for fz25 and r15 that i have i would buy non abs version and pocket the change.

              for duke 250 same.

for dominar i wouldnt dream about non abs version cause power and weight. same for duke 390.

ABS and non ABS, it all comes to pocket. If ones pocket allow then surely without any doubt go with ABS as it's always a boon.
On other hand I heard that not everyone can doABS service as only Metros have that machines(as I heard on various faces who own KTMs) to do.

My local dealer has a white FZ that's done 18km on the odo. It's up for immediate delivery because of some monetary issues. The thing is, being a tier 3 town, we don't get many bikes here so is it worth taking the risk and buying the bike that's done 18km?

Also, if anyone's interested, the Duke 250 is ₹206,628, the Duke 200 is ₹166,563 and the Pulsar RS 200 is ₹152,628 on-road in Goa.

I don't think 18kms on odo would be an issue , i got my Mockingbird(d400) with 12kms on odo. Try negotiating for the same get some free accessories.

                      Hi all,

                      Please Help me out here.

just bought Fz25 a couple of days back, facing weird noise from engine between 3500 to 5000 rpm.
i have completed 80 kms till now. Is this common or do i have a defective engine.?

The first day the engine was smooth, suddenly it started making weird shrills and sounds between 3k to 5k, really upset about it, please let me know the solution of this.
Also went to the service center, they did something but still no luck.

I too had this before first service, they said it's tappet sound. They rectified it. Have ridden 3300+kms still going good.

Stop fighting or arguing on ABS.
If you know how to stop a bike without skidding you are an expert.
If you are too lazy to gear down and use both brake go and buy a bike with ABS
