Oh God! Thanks for the reply sir. Hope fellow owners will be more cautious of the price while buying the official tank pad on seeing this. Taking this opportunity to ask few questions as you're a dealer/svc manager(I guess):Most of the showrooms in Chennai haven't got all the official accessories yet(tank guard to be specific). Also so far spares not available with 3rd party online vendors. Is there any crunch in supply of spares for FZ25?Originally posted by chakresh View PostThey charged you almost double fortl the tank pad...It's official price is 200 , and yes it is specially made for the fz25.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Guys, my bike is 5 days old and has odo of 200kms. I am recently hearing thud noise from front when ever i pass over humps or pot holes even at very slow speed. It feels like its coming from headlight assembly. Did any of you experienced this ?
Scratched bike underbelly a couple of times over few humps.
There is also noise from front wheel when rotating, probably disk brake.

Check if this is the issue. We discussed this few days before.Originally posted by krishna6239 View PostGuys, my bike is 5 days old and has odo of 200kms. I went to the showroom and told the rattling issue but they ignored it and said that it is fine.
Also they showed me another fz25 and it also had the same issue.
This is really irritating me when i drive.
I stay in Bangalore, should i try to go to another showroom and talk abt it or will this void warranty?

Sometimes there might be small stone/pebble stuck in your disc. Please just check yourself so that you can avoid going to the SVC, if that is the issue.Originally posted by krishna6239 View PostI tightened all bolts of crash guard and thud noise issue was resolved.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I am also one of the owner of FZ25 & after riding it for more than 1200 km in 1.5 Months I am feeling more like a victim.
For the first couple 100 Kms the experience was good but after completing the first 1000 Kms & at the time of first service there were good number of problems in my bike, like- Sound of Tap-it, Noise of Engine, Vibration sound coming from the body along with the vibration of headlight assembly & the most important is the Mileage, its worst & disappointing(33 km/l).
After my first service I have been to the dealership thrice to get my bike checked again & again, but the same problem still persists in my bike & the best part is the mileage.
Now I am getting a Mileage of 25 Km/l (As per the info cluster), but if I will calculate it manually then I am geeing a mileage of around 15-20 km/l.
After complaining about it to the dealership they called me twice to inspect the bike, but after being to the dealership & getting my bike serviced thrice the problem is still the same,tap-it noise is there, vibration is there along with a very low mileage.
One more news I got to know from the dealership after my last service is that they need to change a part which they doubt is causing the noise coming from my bike.
WTF its been only 1.5 months & there is a problem in my engine.
Maybe in the beginning you will love everything about this bike, but I am not sure you are going to love it after few months or not.
Also lots of people are saying this to me now that its a complete waste & a very unsuccessful bike Yamaha has ever made just for the sake of being in the competition with different brands.
Maybe this is only happening with my bike or maybe the technician they are not trained enough to service the 250 cc bike, I am not sure? but yes after this I don't think I am going to suggest it to anyone or even I am not going to go with the Yamaha.
I think Yamaha is only good for their 150 cc bike and their scooter.

I've done almost 5000kms on my fz25 and owning it for 4months. Haven't experienced any major issues. Just initial tappet noise which was sorted out in first service. Also a friend of mine has done 12000kms in four months. He's also done 4000kms tour. He hasn't experienced any issues till now. We both are getting mileage of 38-40kmpl in city and highway. Also we've formed fz25 group, everybody has great experience with the motorcycle.
I think there should be some manufacturing issues or the dealer must have given you the test ride vehicle. I'd suggest you to try Changing the service centre and also e-mail Yamaha India about your issues. A Chennai customer has few issues, the dealer gave him a new bike.
Good luck with your struggle.

Don't get frustrated ... I have gone through the same phase earlier with the bike just doing 240kmsOriginally posted by imenmyself View PostI am also one of the owner of FZ25 & after riding it for more than 1200 km in 1.5 Months I am feeling more like a victim.

I got a new bike replaced from the service center and this bike I don't have any issue. According to me I suspect a particular lot or a batch of vehicles have some manufacturing fault and yamaha is still not in a mood to recall the bikes.
Regarding the mileage part both the bikes I used returned a FE of 36-39 in the city even the earlier had it's own set of problems. According to me the engine noise is purely because of tappet adjustment which is very common in FZ 25 and other issues it can be a manufacturing defect or a faulty component.
Yamaha is giving full two year warranty tell them that you had done enough with the bike ask them to rectify it or give a replacement bike. Some bikes in my group has done more miles without any problem. But mine got screwed up in just 240kms so call the sales manager service manager and if possible MD of that showroom tell your problem and ask them for either a complete check or to replace the bike.
In my case they worked three full days but couldn't get a clear picture of the problem so they accepted to replace the bike with a new one.
Yamaha is known for giving some legendary bikes and have also proved it in every perspective world wide and this particular engine is used in their xt 250 which is known for it's reliability world wide, it's the technicians and after service people who are screwing it up altogether.
Even they are not responding write it to Yamaha India they are responding immediately.Yamaha RX100 (1993)

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
For most part of the issues solution has been provided but for FE I say go with the measuring cup thingy. Sometimes petrol station is jacked and they fill lesser amount of petrol from the meter although their pump says a litre. (Now this is something I learned from SVC of bajaj chetak ) Empty the fuel tank & with the measuring bottle and fill the tank with exact litre of fuel. Go on a regular test ride and check for FE.Originally posted by imenmyself View PostI am also one of the owner of FZ25 & after riding it for more than 1200 km in 1.5 Months I am feeling more like a victim.

I really appreciate that.
I didn't followed the same procedure but I have done this manually, I usually do a top up of 500 rs every time I go to petrol pump for refiling.
Then I reset the my trip meter & I measure the mileage by that.
I don't think that they will cheat me because I am going to that petrol station for quite a long time & even if they do so then my fuel meter would show me the reading, by that I can track it easily.
And after 3rd time visiting the service center my mileage has came down to 25 km/l as per the info meter & 15-20 km/l as per my manual tracking.
And this is not the only problem I am facing, apart from that there are several other critical issues I am facing with the bike.
I think I will ask the dealership for the new vehicle as they already told me that there is some issue in engine and they ordered a part or that.
Any which way I am not going to get it changed I will ask for the replacement, rest depends on the dealership & Yamaha itself.
Warm regards,
Shiv

I think I am also going to get get it replaced as I can't tolerate those issue anymore & after being to the service center so many time I think its enough.
So I am going to discuss this with the dealership first(most probably with the MD)& if they will not agree then I will go to the customer care.

Hi guys. How are you cleaning the exhaust pipe portion at the front, dust collects on it and with heat it becomes reddish.
