enabeelahmed7: First of all, apologies for posting without making a full R&D on the topic for I've misunderstood what BHP meant. I did some research and below are the findings. 'Power' is the measured quantity here and BHP is also one of the units of power's measurement. Power is also measured in PS and kW. As per one unit conversion site below are FZ25's figures

20.6 BHP = 20.9 PS = 15.6 kW
dineshaugustin: I had a misunderstanding of BHP. Yeah you're right mate, as per the RC the engine's displacement is displayed in RC as Cubic Capacity(CC) which is 249. By that logic, it makes sense only to mention 20.5 across BHP.

I'll talk to the showroom guys and see what they have to say on this.

Cheers!

Wonder when our RTO will be fully computerized!

I booked my FZ two weeks back (CHENNAI) and I am still told RTO is not ready for registration due to new GST price changes.

Buying a bike was long due for me. I was planning to buy bike last August in 2016. The choice has narrowed down to Duke 200 and RS200. So much confused between these two bikes. One is equipped with Abs and looks slightly better than Duke, the Duke on the other hand was proven and known for Its peppy performance. In this dilemma somethings happened and we ended up buying a Car, and my bike plans was put on hold.In meantime I crashed from a Pulsar 150 due to a dog coming in front of the front wheel and I brake hard and wheel gets locked. Nothing major happened as I was wearing Helmet and the Gloves. So ABS was added in my checklist for new bike. Then the most awaited 400cc Pulsar aka Dominar launched in a very competitive price, and I thought this would be my next bike. It was perfect for my needs. A tourer with Abs, Powerful Headlamps, aggressive styling. But buying a new bike was not on my Budget list at least for few months.Fast forward to June 2017. Again the urge of new bike start tickling in my head. Many new bikes were launched in this timespan after Dominar like 2017 Duke Series, the new FZ25, RTR 200. As I was in love with the dominar this was the first choice for Test Ride. I called Sai Service Bajaj, Pune and they said Test Ride is available. I took my friend along with me arrived at Bajaj Showroom for test ride. I test ridden the bike and it felt very easy handling in traffic. The Power delivery felt linear, There was slight harshness while shifting gears. Don't get a chance to experience it's Headlights as it was sunny outside. My friend also ridden the bike and find it to be a bit harsh and not as refined as his CBR250. We take the quote for the bike and it was 1.8 lac on Road in Pune for ABS version. Then we headed to KTM Showroom to see the Dukes. The Duke showroom has only Duke 200 on display and he said It is not available for test ride. From there we headed to Yamaha Showroom. There we rode the FZ 25. The engine feeled real smooth and this FZ has that power and acceleration which the previous generation FZ lacks.

But still I was in dilemma between the D400 and FZ 25. The D400 has ABS and Liquid Cooling ove FZ, on other hand the FZ was smooth, reliable and around 40-45K lighter on Pocket than the D400.
I decided to go with FZ 25 Black. On D400 my choice of color was white but for FZ it was Black. Black color has minimum graphics, looks muscular. On 19th June I gone to showroom selected the bike, Checked it for any gaps or scratches on the bike, transfered all the amount. In Pune it costed me 1.38K On-Road with Extended Warranty and Leg Guard which costed Rs.890. The bike was Ready for delivery but I told them that I would take the delivery on 22 June. On the day of delivery the bike was ready. I again inspected it, Checked all the electronics were working or not, and finally took her Home.

650 KM on ODO. Mostly ridden the bike to office, 60 km daily. Done one short ride of 100km. The bike was a joy to ride. Bike can easily touch 65km/hr @4000 RPM. Mostly riding at this speed. Got an average of 43km/lit which mainly include Highway Riding. Gear Shifts smoothly at around 4500 RPM. Finding a Neutral is very easy can Neutral the bike in running also. Front Disc Brake is from Bybre from previous FZ. Whole the rear disc brake is from NISSIN which comes with R15. Braking is good but ABS will be missed, Hope they will introduce In future. Fuel cap is also borrowed from R15.The rear Yamaha Logo came off in rain, luckily is was stuck to the near tail lamp due to water. Not expecting this from Yamaha in the first week itself. Fixed it with Rs.5 feviQuick. But Yamaha should take care of these little things. There was sound when The front wheel goes over any speedbreaker or pot hole at Moderate speeds. At very low speed the sound was not present, But at above 20-25 km/hr The Thud sound is there. Anyone experience the same? Please comment.

Chain cleaning and lubrication has been thoroughly discussed in forums all over the world!

Diesel, Kerosene, WD40 can be used. Since Diesel is easily available than Kerosene (at-least in Hyderabad) and much cheaper than Branded Chain cleaners. Personally I prefer diesel than kerosene.

No benefit talking to them I suppose. My 1998 registered rx135 also had power mentioned in kW only. Might be nobody at RTO actually knows the details about it or not bothered.

Search for PDI checklist in the forum and also other forums too! You will find all the details mentioned.

Make sure you check the RTO related forms are filled accurately. Do not pay the amount until everything is clear and no pending things from Showroom, Incase of any thing pending, take that in written.

Don't have anything specific to FZ25.

But check out the Side panel fitting. Few bikes I have seen while selecting mine have loose or huge gaps.
Ask for min of 2.5 Ltrs of petrol to be filled.

But PDIs are common for all bikes, you can focus on unique features of FZ such as LED Headlamp etc.

Pratik, I think you have the official crash guard fitted.
Only recently I fitted them and only after that I got those sounds, so my first doubt was very obvious and found out that the culprit was the same crash guard. I found a small mark on the front mudguard too.
Trying to fix it soon trough some engineering work .
