So you agree or disagree my views ?

commuter and 3k part caught my eye.

if its 0-100 timings were like 14-15 seconds then yes a commuter tag would be appropriate. as it is, if you term it commuter then everything thats not duke / r15 / rc becomes commuter.

also i was curious about 3k. why such specific figure?

about it being value or not, i disagree. its as good value as it gets. competing with dominar or pulsar ns200 easily in that department.

it may not have any headline grabbing technology but you can clearly see yamaha has put some serious work in getting handling and ergonomics right.

Agree... FZ 25 doesn't have any fancy gadgets but it serves the purpose... and price wise...its best in 250 segment...

Its not much of specific just an approximate number. I was comparing to Pulsar NS200, ZMR sort of bikes for the VFM perspective.
Let me put this way, if FZ25 has the complete tech whatever D250 or NS 200 is offering, now guess what will be the price of FZ25 ?
Iam not saying FZ25 is a bad choice, its a great bike and has lot of potential for most riders, but saying VFM by just comparing CC Vs Price is what iam not agreeing to.
May be the VFM also depends on individual, and their preference

if you are aware of design procedure of bikes, lot of effort goes into honing a bike's handling and ergonomics. engineers constantly change settings to refine them and make them suitable for the bike for given application.

simply choosing a upside down fork or perimeter frame does not yeild results. setting have to be optimised and perfected.

riding fz25 gives a sense it is perfectly crafted for its purpose. ns200 feels like unfinished product in comparison cause heavy feel on handle bars in traffic.

duke 250 is similarly finished product. so is dominar. fz is in that league and in no way overpriced.

            • Heating Issue- Yamaha FZ 25

              Hi Guys,
My bike gets heated up even on running a shorter distance say 5 Kms. It has run in total 200 Kms till date. Do I need to get it checked at a service station or is this problem due to bike being new.

              Thanks

Hello everybody, this is my first post in xbhp.

Well, I got FZ 25 from Bangalore Wheels in march end. Got the bike in black colour. Everything was good , but they told me old plan for bike servicing. So, I gave my bike on first service within 30 days(because of that "old plan") at Orions Yamaha at Agara Post branch. Well after my first service, I got to know that my seat got damaged , there were two small holes in the rider seat. So I told about this to the guy who serviced my bike, he said "you can buy a seat cover". Well I talked to some higher guy, he told me that we will change your seat, just bring the bike at Orions Yamaha at Koramangla branch. Also I felt that gear shifting was too hard. In the mean while, one day Bangalore Wheels' guy called me and said about some Japanese engineers came for the survey of FZ 25, so I went Bangalore Wheels, they inspect my bike and they got agreed to change the "clutch assembly"(they were calling it clutch assembly I guess) because my gear shifting was too hard. But it was getting late in the evening, so they gave that clutch assembly to me. So I went to Orions Yamaha at Koramangla branch, they replaced my seat, they replaced that clutch assembly. But these guys polished my bike, that's good, but they also polished plastic material on the tank. So, tank's plastic material looks scratchy. Now it's been a month, but now everybody is pointing me about that tank, So, what do I do? Any suggestions, do I talk to Orions' guys or what?

P.S. : Gear shifting is still hard and tank's plastic material looks scratchy!

You should have brought this scratch issue right after u noticed it. Now in most cases they will deny this. The ASC guys always bring more headache than solving the issues.

As far as gear shift goes, i think its due to the bike is new, will get settled in once you put more kms. Strange they replaced the clutch assembly for hard gear shift.

Hey guys, just took a long test ride of fz25 and feel that headlamp, very hard downshift, bike getting dirty are the issues I would need to fix after buying.

I had a look at FZ version 2 rear mudguard and it might fit fz25. Any other suggestions for this and other mentioned problems?

Try with polish for plastic parts. Its not a clear solution but will help.
Unfortunately, if wax is used on matte parts. It is tough to remove it.

Surprising that Clutch assembly was changed, Gear shift is hard on new engine. They smooth out once close to 800-900 kms.

Downshift will be hard on new engines.

My suggestion is to dont go for any other fitments. As they might not completely solve the problem and bike looks bad.

                        • Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences

I have a separate thread for this, but posting here would be apt.

After riding two strokes for years I finally planned to upgrade my ride. With lot of considerations, discussions and waiting finally the decision factor was between Apache 200 Fi
                          Bajaj Dominor
                          Yamaha FZ 25

Since there was no speculated date of Apache 200 coming I dropped it now it was between Dominor and FZ 25

First I went into Yamaha showroom asking for a test ride first answer came was a big no, i got a bit frustrated and walked into a Bajaj showroom right away they handed me the keys of Bajaj Dominor. First impressions I was totally satisfied expect the weight to handle in the city.

Almost decided with Dominor I got a call from Aditya Yamaha to test ride the Yamaha. Initial impression was good I was able to flick the bike and it was very good and it had amazing torque to pull through the gears.

Being a Yamaha fan boy my heart always wanted a Yamaha so decided with Yamaha.

I wanted a white color bike, at that time Aditya Yamaha didn't have that colour in stock so moved to Season Yamaha, representative there immediately promised me a white color bike as new lot is on its way. Paid the initial amount and waited for the delivery.
After couple of days no information from the showroom. I went in personnel to check the status, they informed the load has arrived they are yet to unload the bike.
Waited for another couple of days no information again went directly and the guy said bike has arrived and went to see and he said only one bike has come please choose from it. After initial test ride I was not convinced the bike was not like the one I test rode but service manager told it will be alright after final pdi I had no choice either .

Finally the date came for taking the delivery out of excitement I went to service center before and shocked to see the bike standing in the same place where I left it, asked the guys they said it's all done waiting for water service. They handed over the bike to me with out even cleaning after the water wash with all this I took the bike cleaned it myself and took it to the temple.

Just after reaching the temple and doing Pooja formalities I was returning back but just after 24 kms of running in the engine made unusual vibrations which I felt it through foot pegs. Next day I heard some weird noises while acclerating took it too service center and they said it's valve noise and I was sure it was not but they didn't accept.
After running some 200 kms bike started loosing the power it had gradually and the noise was still evident and spoke with the service manager and he informed that it has been reported to Yamaha and under Yamaha engineer supervision the work will be done and left the bike there.
They called me one evening and said bike is ready and told it was a clutch issue. But when I reached there right from body to throttle body everything was removed and kept.
I asked for removing a clutch y u have to remove all the peripherals they just bluffed and I also noticed white paste to pack the center crank case, this grey paste no oem manufacturer will use to seal the center case. Again the service manager said when we open the center case we always ask the customer before doing it.
I suspected something was wrong and found a crate full of FZ 25 spares. By that time they completed and gave the bike for test ride and I was convinced and asked me to deliver the bike.

After final inspection and was about to take the bike I noticed that center case was changed and having a different engine number. They didn't have a clue and time was around 10 in the night.
Next day morning they called and convinced me with five years extended warranty and accessories and asked me to wait for four hours to change the center case back.
It took the whole day and I waited the whole day in the service center after changing the center back to original the issue started and I denied to take the bike.

Fellow xbhpian Ram Prasath spoke with the MD of season motors and accepted to get a new engine from yamaha. Three days went got a call and they said Yamaha has instructed to give a new bike.
Took the new bike a week later and has no issues till now bike is super good and getting used to it now.

But what they said was the previous bike will be sent to Yamaha motors but what they did was registered the bike in my name and sold it to a third party for a lower price so now i have two bikes registered in my name.

Above all this issue was not reported to Yamaha at all and don't know who the guy they introduced me as Yamaha service engineer is what he did all the te when such a issue was happening under his supervision.

Yes, you can leave/escalate your query here - India Yamaha Motor - Contact Us
Usually they get back in <1week.

I had a defective headlight and SVC guys plainly refused to replace, I contacted Yamaha directly and explained the issue and demanded a HU replacement for which they obliged and SVC guys called me the very next day for replacement, Face Palm!!!

I also reported about poor headlight throw and hard seats, they said they will consider it and if more number of people report about the same issue then they will be looked into, not sure how far that statement is true.

Dinesh Sir, please send an email to Yamaha customer care with all the images and information. So that at least new buyers won't have to suffer what you have overcome.

                                Kudos to New bike.
