Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Done with 1700 kms and bike is very smooth after the first service, but please share your comments on below points..
1. Did anyone find Steam(white smoke) coming out of engine while riding in Rain? It should be steam according to me but sometimes its scary as all the heads are turned towards the bike and they looking as if it caught fire... This morning I jus started the bike and whoosh the steams there for about 2 to 3 seconds and goes off..
i cant feel the hot engine but this doesn't look safe...
2. Ordered a Motul Chain Cleaner and lube with a brush from Amazon.... In this thread everyone is using either petrol/diesel/kerosene, I hope Motul chain cleaner is also a good option...

3. Anyone feel the tyres to be slippery in Monsoon, Braking is very slippery when the roads are wet. Tyres get locked up and this case is with both Front and rear.
4. How often do you fill air in the tyres, its just 2 months with the bike and i had to fill air in rear tyre almost thrice, checked for puncture but thats not the case, Air pressure is almost 26 to 28 everyone time i go to check it..
5. Also observing rust near the leg guard also near the right handle, thats bad..
Please give out your comments....

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I cant say im a hardcore biker, but im riding for more than 10 yrs now, RX100, Unicorn, infact even Activa wasnt that slippery, its not that its a high speed problem, even if we are in speed of around 60 facing this issue, I dont know if its the bike or me, but could get control of the bike each time.Originally posted by vsbharani View PostI agree with 3rd point.. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Might be my handling, because in my earlier bikes i didn't face this issue. Might be its less than 2 months in this new one.. Also it was light rain and due to some waste in road, might be i guess... Need to test once complete monsoon starts..Originally posted by Yagi315 View PostI cant say im a hardcore biker, but im riding for more than 10 yrs now, RX100, Unicorn, infact even Activa wasnt that slippery, its not that its a high speed problem, even if we are in speed of around 60 facing this issue, I dont know if its the bike or me, but could get control of the bike each time.

Hot metal and water...its always steam.

Chain clear is not cheaper option.
Only diesel and kerosene are suggested. Never use petrol.
3. Anyone feel the tyres to be slippery in Monsoon, Braking is very slippery when the roads are wet. Tyres get locked up and this case is with both Front and rear.
If roads are wet, Speeds must come down drastically!
I have not faced the situation yet on my FZ.
4. How often do you fill air in the tyres, its just 2 months with the bike and i had to fill air in rear tyre almost thrice, checked for puncture but thats not the case, Air pressure is almost 26 to 28 everyone time i go to check it..
Best approach is to get it checked at every fuel fill up.
5. Also observing rust near the leg guard also near the right handle, thats bad..
These accessories are not factory manufactured with Yamaha standards. So dont expect such quality.
Ever noticed Honda number plates?

In this case arent all the bike suppose to leave steam? In a heavy traffic while only this bike.

As i already ordered Motul chain cleaner too.. does it work better than Diesel & kerosene?? (thanks for the petrol info, wont use it.)
3. If roads are wet, Speeds must come down drastically!

I had this in mind, but when I saw a Ninja just flying past me in a speed of around 100 with superease, so thought speed of 60 in this machine shouldnt be a problem.

Do you find air to be less everytime?
5. Ever noticed Honda number plates?
number plates are not rusted
,
agree with the leg guard too, quality is not great,
but near the handle bars, rust is not a good sight in a new bike,,

That's a Ninja isn't it? Some superior rubber and/or rider's skills must have done the job.Originally posted by Yagi315 View Post

Perhaps there was some oil on the road? Or maybe those MRFs are not so good after all.

Most of the times, in the initial rainy days it will be oil, after that road will be cleanOriginally posted by numa97 View PostThat's a Ninja isn't it? Some superior rubber and/or rider's skills must have done the job.

Ninja gives you the skills too, thats true.. but still, I feel in avg speed too brakes or tires are not that great.. hope this issue wont be there after monsoon, yet to test it in curves, will get to know how good the tires are, ofcoz after the monsoons..

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
You will find none of the tyre pressure gauge used outside is accurate. The analog ones are crap unless if its a branded and costlier one. Some of the gas filling stations does have accurate machine but not all. Thus in this case, tyres were over inflated with air everytime even if the reading is correct.Originally posted by Yagi315 View Post3. I rode my bike in wet road above 100kp/h and didn't faced any slipping issue. Your tyre is might over-inflated therefore loss of grip. Get yourself a digital pressure gauge. I'm using this one and it is very accurate. One should have this in handy and its a good investment to check air pressure anytime (specially on highways), you don't have to then rely on your senses. I ordered this from ebay long ago.

In rainy season all most all bike feels like that.
While riding in rain ride slow and maintain distance from other vehicles so this may help you from collision to other vehicles if anyone hit sudden break
I will fuel 10days once so I will get tyre pressure 10 days once everytime I get air check front tyre will be constant.
Back tyre gets reduced 3-5 maximum
