Not that I regret buying fz25,in fact I am in love with her for her looks ,curves😉 and mileage(getting constant 40+ in city).it is the ego that buying 1.40lakh bike whose top speed is in par with 200ns and Apache 200,just my humble opinion.

Going through the spec itself you can find that not to expect any top end at all.
It doesn't matter if its costs 1.4 lakhs or its a 250cc

FZ25 just has 20bhp and that too comes very early 8000RPM.
FZ25 does 135KMPH on speedo (genuine speed must be around 125KMPH) even this is happening only because of the very very tall 5th gear.

        Yes..
I too love the way FZ25 looks.
        Looks bigger than a 250!

Even duke200 is limited to 136 or some similar speed. Think of the fz as a cheaper and more fuel efficient duke200

Man..it looks sexy... Hope they would have adjusted the engine for little more power and torque. FZ25 was a success because low figures has been compensated by low weight. With the fairing I am sure weight would have increased atleast 15KG. Let's hope for the best.

                    Hey,

Did anyone change your Horn here?
Does that void the electrical warranty? If not, what should be the specs of the horn that I should buy? Request your input.

Does the bite and feedback from the brakes improve after the first service?. I found it too weak during the test ride but that was a new one. Also does it become more involving to ride with time and racking up Km's?. Will i get that connect i get from my Apache RTR eventually(Previous RTR owners who upgraded to this beast from that beast can help)?. I will never know these things from a test ride unless i get a Fz 25 with enough Km's and a proper break in.

connection with bike will be there. will you be satisfied i cant say.

coming from r15 it is my concern as well. will it get boring to ride.

i have taken multiple test rides. once at my liesure (no pillion, as much time as i wanted). since i am used to r15 now, i really didnt find fz to be all that more comfortable. it was slightly better and perhaps you can do few more kms cause wrists are not fully loaded.

wrists i felt were definitely loaded a bit and seat was relatively hard. i definitely didnt thought it will be boring to ride. if anything, i am a little concerned about its touring potential. definitely not as boring or should i say uninvolving as fz16.

on the highway without crouching it went to 130 quite easily.
btw has anybody seen funkyamaha's video he had put an as200, modified duke 200 and the fz25 in a drag race. The as200 was showing 140+ on the odo but was no where near the fz25.

Bajaj has got more Speedo error than other manufacturers.

I own a 2013 390 Duke which is already on sale. Once I get good price on it and is sold, I would probably going for FZ 25.

Reason: My daily commute companion is 390. And its close to 60 KMs both way. It is fun to ride and have no problem with it. However, due to very bad roads in near my area. It has been taking toll on my back. Roads are not expected to get repaired any time soon.

It has done 46000 KMs and is still in brilliant condition and can easily fool people that bikes looks only year old.

                                Coming to the FZ 25:

Have been going through this thread since the time FZ 25 has become one of the option for my next bike.
I prefer only naked bikes as they are easy to maintain, fitting a crash guard is possible (It has save me from horrible injuries) and less bling compared to faired one's.

Yamaha along with Suzuki are my trusted manufactures. So motorcycle wise, I don't have any issues with their durability or reliability.

Unfortunately, still showrooms here in Hyderabad don't have test ride bike. OTR is close to 1.43 Lacs with some components added by dealer which can be removed making it effective at 1.40 Lacs.

Having gone through almost entire posts on thread, reminded me of my initial days on xBhp. Probably based on my experience with motorycles I would like to share few points to existing owners or prospective buyers.

                                1. Engine will run hot, gears shifts will be hard, some non-reoccurring noises would be there. These can be ignored and will solved on its own after engine is properly run-in. It is usually around 2500-3000 KMs where you bike is at its full potential.
                                2. You can use Mineral (Preferred), Semi-Synthetic or Fully Synthetic in case you want to flush the oil before 1000 KMs service. Along with Engine oil change, have oil filter changed too.
                                3. There might be some visible oil seepage, these tend to disappear unless the gaskets, seals are damaged.
                                4. Do not go my Mileage display on Console. These are not real time figures. Always measure Tank Full - Tank Full method. My 390 once showed 48 KMPL on MID. . But in general its close to 29 KMPL.
                                5. Though any electrical modifications can lead to void warranty, Installing better horn with required relay may not. It primarily depends on your rapport with Service centers.
                                6. Based on specs and performance figures, the bike is targeted at premium commuter segment. So, it will get to your work with out any fuss and make you enjoy those long weekend rides.
                                7. The smoothness of gear shifts is linked how well the chain is maintained. Try to keep it as dirt free as possible. My suggested chain lube if you can find is "Cyclo Chain Lube" by Pidilite then followed by Motul. I would avoid Tribcor at any cost.
                                8. Run-in is primarily meant for engine bed in. Key point is the not run the bike at same RPM for continuous time. Varying RPM is best. There is no problem if you take the bike to higher RPMs (Above 6000) for very short intervals.
                                9. Not just engine but also Brakes, Tires also need to bed-in. So be progressive in braking and acceleration.

Thats all what can come to my mind now. Will add if any thing comes up.
Hoping to get my 390 sold soon and get FZ 25.
