Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Absolutely that happened when my friend went for first service & SVC guy put two bottles of 800ml yamalube regardless there is clear recommendation in manual to pour 1350ml engine oil if oil filter is replaced. Do check the bill, there is 2 bottles of 800ml yamalube mentioned.Originally posted by niharx View PostRegards

So, if you have a crash guard fitted, original, then please send some close up pics to me.

Thats what happened to me,untill 1st servicing tappet noise was minimal
after 1st service when they pour total 1600ml engine oil, tappet noise got worse & tend to creep in early(2km).
before service slight tappet noise after (20-30km).

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The manual specifies 1.35 litres without filter change and 1.45 litres with filter change. So your observation seems correct that after removing 150ml you have come to the right figure of 1.45 litres.Originally posted by niharx View PostThats what happened to me,untill 1st servicing tappet noise was minimal

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Went on to a short ride today of close to 360 kms.
Motorcycle has performed quite well on highway.
Comfortably cruises at 85-95 kmph. Drove non-stop during my return of 180 kms and it never felt run out steam.
I am not a top speed freak but took the bike till 115 kmph. My opinion is that FZ25 is not great at speeds above 110 kmph.
There are absolutely no vibration at speeds of even 95 kmph apart from slight buzz at handlebar

Even I've done 950km tour on fz25, bike feels good between 100-110. Above it is bit hard on engine. Riding posture is good didn't feel any niggles.Originally posted by riazmomin View PostWent on to a short ride today of close to 360 kms.

Only thing worried me was, on highway it gave me mileage of 34-35 km, where in city getting 38-39. It should be other way round(it also depends on riding style), done with second service recently will check on this on next long tour.
But this bike is fun to drive, brakes could have been better it's my opinion

Can't expect better mileage if you ride above 90kmph. To get best mileage on highway, keep fz25 between 60-70 and you will get above 45.Originally posted by mani191290 View PostEven I've done 950km tour on fz25, bike feels good between 100-110. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hey guys back with another issue. The issues keep on piling it seems [emoji848]
Sometimes my bike would not start in cold start condition. It would start, sputter and die. Only way to start it would be to give some throttle while starting after which it would idle properly. I always start in neutral.
In general I'm also noticing that to start the engine a long self needs to be given. Also I'm seeing a rough low idle which keeps on fluctuating when i start the engine. When i give some throttle RPM rises up and settles down to the normal idle RPM.
What could be the issue?

Check your air filter box under the seat. Check for any blockage caused by paper or any part of seat which could restrict the air flow into the air filter box

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Ok.. But my bike feels different..from 95 to 110kmph the bike feels really stressed out and some vib here and there but after 110 the bike feels really smooth and felt really good from 110 to 125. I feel 110-120 is the sweet spot while cruising..Originally posted by mani191290 View PostEven I've done 950km tour on fz25, bike feels good between 100-110. Above it is bit hard on engine. My only concern is the coin rattling sound. It was ok till first service and for some 400 kms after but then for last couple of days it became worst. More noise after 4k plus rpm and really irrittating and annoying. Any solution guys?
One more question. Can we fix frame sliders? If yes.. Will it be a direct fit? I mean is thr any welding works needed?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Even I experienced coin rattle sound, many people raised this concern. I've said svc guy last week during 2nd service. He mentioned it is because of tappet, which is loose. He said will tight a bit but not completely. It worked gone up to 5k rpm (70-80 kmph), no sound as of now. Didn't test at cruising speed.Originally posted by Gkn View PostOk.. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Ok, this is a bit off topic. But, it's related to Sales and Service Experience of Yamaha, which would be helpful to people planning either to buy or to service their bikes.
This was couple of months back. Green City Yamaha, Sarjapur Road, Bangalore is closest to my home, so my natural instinct was to visit the place. As I went directly from work, so I went in my car in formals to enquire about FZ25. The showroom is big, with a glass panels dividing the service and waiting area. The marketing executive was good, even offered me a bottle of water(sign of a good salesperson). As, I had no helmet with me at that time, they gave me a helmet for the test ride. Post ride discussion was good. I liked the bike a lot,but wanted some wind protection, and as I knew Yamaha was going to launch Fazer 25 in couple of months, so thought would wait for it. Overall, a good experience then.
Today, I called them up to enquire about Fazer 25. Now, the experience was completely different. Someone, answered the call and sounded rude and arrogant. He told me its 163000 onroad. I asked, does that include extended warranty? He said, Yes with extended warranty only(as if I was supposed to know myself). I asked, "How about accessories" ? He started with leg guard, seat cover, bash plate, etc. I was puzzled, how can someone fix a leg guard on a faired bike. When, I asked about the same, he just disconnected the call !!!. I waited for sometime to check whether he calls back or not. He didn't. I called back and asked him of the same, he said let me confirm about leg guard. After confirming from someone, he said no not possible. Till now, his voice was extremely rude as if he is doing some favour to me. I said, 'Ok, I shall come over there and discuss'. He just disconnected the call again blantly.
So, here is the thing guys. These guys have started doing customer profiling. What this means is, if you are dressed well and look like you can afford a bike, they would treat you nicely. If you call them up, they treat you like s**t. I had a similar experience with Manor Motors, Berhampur, Odisha. Seems like they are diluting the Yamaha brand and would definitely turn off many buyers. It's just sad but true.
After calling Green City Yamaha, I called Perfect Riders, Lalbagh Road, Bangalore. I had bought my R15 V2.0 from there long back and my experience with sales and service was very good with them for 8 months, till I sold my bike. But, I didnt mention mention this to them upfront, because I wanted to know how these guys are treating their customers. I was very pleased to talk to the person Chirag. Instantly felt like home. The person was polite, and answered my questions clearly and softly. I got the kind of experience you would expect from a brand like Yamaha. I have heard Bangalore Wheels is even better, but, this was good too.
There it is guys. You be the judge and take your decision smartly. No matter what, I am not going to give my bike for service at a place, who doesnt know the difference between a faired and naked bike.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello guys, I had a close call today. I was just starting to move from stoplight in 1st and then shift up to 2nd gear doing roughly 15-20 kms/h and then the engine suddenly died and the rear wheel locks up, I started skidding nearly dropping my bike. I'm not sure if I did anything wrong while driving slowly in low rpm on 2nd gear or if it was a mild engine seizure.
After the the stall/lockup I restarted the bike and all was fine again, rode it with no problem, apart from the the obvious black doom of what happened in the back of my mind, making me feel a bit less confident.
What could be the reason? Is something wrong with my bike or operator error?
