    Initial feedback:

    Stuff that I love.
    1. The seating position is very upright and comfy. I like it.
    2. Exhaust Sound is loud compared to my previous bike, 220. Bassy sound, I like that too.
    3. No coin rattling sound, so that's a relief.
    4. Seats are comfortable, for me and for my wife, so that's a big plus.
    5. The headlamps are fine. Coming from 220 I don't feel like I'm missing out on the brightness. Yes, the high beam is just a burger bun on top of the dim light but that's okay for me to ride in the city and for flashing for a pass.
    6. Mirrors are adequate. Not best, but I can live with it.
    7. Gears are smooth, very smooth compared to my 5-6 years old 220, so I have no complaints.

    Small niggles that I hate.
    1. No leg guard available so please guys send me some close up so I can have it custom made. No any accessories here, so that sucks.(no skid plate, no crash guard, no nothing) Not a bike problem.
    2. You can feel the bike on when on start...thump thump thump.... on the handle bars, not much of vibrations but you can definitely feel it. Don't know if that's supposed to happen.
    3. The head lamp does shake in potholes. And there are potholes everywhere. I will adjust it and see if the shaking gets reduced. I have read that some of the members got it to shake less when the headlamp was adjusted for the spread.

It does feel like a bigger bike than 220, although it's short. A pillion with a bag for long tours will be hard and uncomfortable compared to the ample seat length on 220. That will be the most that I will be missing in coming days.

The rear view mirrors on handle bars are bit uncomfortable to look at compared to the 220. But I guess after few hundreds of Kms of ride, it will feel easy.

For now, I'm enjoying the ride. Can't wait for 4 o' clock and the shift to end then take it out for a spin

I would not suggest to go for after market leg guards, ask your dealer or any other yamaha svc for one, they are strong and reliable.
Better to go with saddle bags if you are planning for long tours(even 100 km+), it's not a good idea to strain your back for long hours with a bag on your shoulder. You can also go for tank bags.

Attaching pictures of old and new brake pads . Gota check how long will this last. Also regarding the performance.. I'm getting milage of 30(console figures). Performance is awesome. But for 250cc power delivery at top end should have been slightly more. It goes till 90 with easy. Then struggles a lot. Today got the top speed of 133 and it got too shaky so had to let it go..

I think it might be one off quality issue with those brake pads. Do check out how these perform. Make sure the wheels are rotating freely after these are fitted.

Check out my old posts on DIY for front mudguard.
It is not rust, but the mud getting burnt and it looks like Orange/red. Thorough cleaning will do the job.

And for rear, you got to live with it. It is common with most of the bikes with high tail design (Duke, ZMR...etc).
You can go with full tire huger, but it wont look good.

As monsoons are close to completion, i dont think it must be a problem unless your live in areas where it rains all over the year.

Thanks for the suggestion Nadir. But the SVC does not have any accessories for FZ25 yet, it was launched here only a couple of weeks ago. I asked them and they said that they will be in stock within 2 weeks, and I cannot ride 2 weeks without a crash guard and leave it in the parking lot. With crash guard, I will at least have peace of mind when parking.

If I have a close up of the leg guard and mounting points, I can show them and they can make an exact replica of the guard. I have done this for my Rebel and they are good at it.

So, if you have a crash guard fitted, original, then please send some close up pics to me.

I bought aftermarket leg guards and they are not upto the mark, will replace them with the original at the time of first servicing. You can go through the posts, as there are lots of pics with original crash guard installed.

Yes, but you will need few washers and a little long handlebar weight screw for accelerator side to keep it free. I would suggest to go to a local mechanic, and he will fit it easily.

RVMs were very goo with almost no vibration i.e. you can see the vehicles behind clearly.

I seriously suggest owners to change RVMs from stock to RTR ones.

Just got back from my office ride and a little annoyed. The bike just died on me in 3rd gear when accelerating through traffic, putting me in a very precarious situation, because there was no electricals, I lost the indicator lights as well as the tail stop lights.. luckily the car behind me wasn't in a mighty hurry or he would have definitely rear ended me.

This is the first time it happened to me when in running.

I suspect there is an issue with the circuitry or possibly an issue with the battery/wiring. I hope this is not a more severe underlying problem because I continue to have the issue randomly with starting the bike when turning the key to power on ignition shows no activity. Have to try turning the key off & on a couple of times before it starts.

Just cannot believe this is a premium product from Yamaha with some glaring issues like this

This is a battery or electricals issue may be due to some loose connection. Surprisingly this has been a common occurrence in Yamaha bikes recently. I faced this issue with my Fazer ltd edtn., my R15S, my friend's fz2.0. And this occurrence is high specially in the monsoon season. Get it checked by a proper tec. In my case it took me 2 service n changing 3 techs to rectify.
It's not that it is a big issue, but trustworthy work from company SVCs r becoming rare everyday.

Cleaned the chain after 2k kms. Very dirty chain. First clean with kerosene and then with Motul Chain cleaner 400ml bought from Karol Bagh, Delhi for 470. More than half of can is gone. After dry, lubed with Yamalube Chain Lube, find it best in respect of stickiness. A lot better than a gear oil.
