On the highways, the FZ will have some advantage in the top end.

The Fz25 is a great motorcycle too but seems a lot of niggles need fixing by Yamaha as of now. Take a test ride.

Well if I need to consider Apache 200 i have to make up my mind again, I'll go through 200's thread though..! Thanks for the suggestion [emoji4]

and I forgot to mention..I can wait till the year end, desperately expecting ABS version of FZ 25, maybe 200 Fi version will also be out..Also expecting G310R which is unlikely to roll out...

Yamaha has no plans of doing that untill 2019. Because then it will made mandatory by govt.

I'm simply enjoying the bike every day and I find myself wanting to take her out more and more. In fact in a city like Mumbai with the state of our roads and the traffic the FZ25 offers excellent torque and neutral ride behavior. I'm also impressed with the ability to absorb so much of the bad road undulations.

I also don't get the fuss about ABS, been riding for over 18 years now, we learnt n coped without it, and 250 cc with three kind of rather mellow power she puts out, ABS is not a must have do our die feature at all. The Duke 390 for sure needs it but overall it's not a magical feature. In fact I've already had a fair share of emergency braking in traffic and so far she has stopped on a dime. Not a slip here or there.

Yeah it's not perfect, but it's been good so far. Waiting to ride out the break in period to 500 & then 1000 to start exploring her potential

I have been browsing through ownership experiences and finally bought FZ25 yesterday. Earlier i had my eye fixed on 200NS and for some unexplainable reasons, FZ25 never came to my mind. The moment i laid my eyes on it, i got sure that this is the machine that i want to buy.
First thing i did was to go through all the FZ25 ownership experiences, get to know about its issues and character. Thankyou all for providing real time experiences to help others decide what's best in their interest.

I will refrain from saying anything negative about the bike's performance and response before first servicing. I am not facing any new trouble so there is no point in ranting all of yours aforementioned problems through various posts.
Although i will point out the good bits. Looks are a subjective matter but it's still an eye turner. I loved the bassy exhaust. The machine definitely feels premium and appears costly than it actually is. Maneuvering in traffic is such a breeze (it's really difficult to keep the throttle in check when you see a swift overtake opportunity). Unlike some members, i find horn to be apt for city riding. Bike never felt like getting out of balance/control. Headlight is definitely manageable for city. Brakes are good, didn't even feel the lack of ABS, tires don't lock out.

Overall, I am very much satisfied with the bike. I hope it remains the same.

We all know the rear tire hugger is good for nothing and someone posted a fb link which suggested to change that with Pulsar 135lS's one. Did anyone tried that or is there any other hack for it(a picture will be highly a appreciated)?

Ps- Will post the pics in a day or two.

So here are the pics. I did the following modifications:
            1. Ktm Duke 390 handguards (Rs.760).
            2. White rim stickers (Rs.50)
            3. Seat cover with half inch foam for the rider's seat. (Rs.300)

I did a little hack too, in order to ease the break-in process by putting on an electric tape over 4k rpm range, so that i know when to stop revving the engine.

It's from local market, not from Yamaha.

You can get one easily from Ktm service centre. Ask for 390 handguards, old one. (New 390 handguards are orange and cost ~Rs.1000)

I hope it does not fall out in a bad road condition or may be in the longer run. I say so beacuse I felt it was too flimsy.

Have done 7500+kms till date. The rear tail light assembly is good enough. Rode in almost very bad roads too. Have no issues with it. Tyre hugger is bad. Planning to try fzS full tyre hugger. Not sure would it fit.

I dont think it would be an issue, my 7 year old FZS tail part is flexible too and gold good till date...
