Don't worry most bikes have one or other kind of shitty noise which sometimes can annoy the rider but once you learn to ignore and enjoy the performance, all would be bliss. I own a Dominar and many owners complaint about tank vibration noise but i never noticed it and always concentrated on the ride and enjoying the performance.

This particular sound which you mentioned is the teppet sound and it is present in most fzs. And it is coz yamaha has kept the teppets bit on the lose side considering our hot climate. Also the valve clearance could be the issue with the test bike you rode.
Most test bikes are in crappy condition irrespective of make.
Ride an Enfield to enjoy the teppet sound then you would stop hearing that in the fz pun intended.

I have already complained in their fb page 3 times.Every time they ask my details, call me and request me to take my bike to svc and after that the same issue will be there. And when asked they will say"sir ye sound normal he fz25 me kuch nahi kia jaa sakta"[emoji19] .

Magic trick to avoid unwanted noise is to wear a snug fit full face helmet. You won't hear any engine sound other then the exhaust.

Thats not the test ride bike, the bike that i rode today its the first bike from the showroom and it is owned by yamaha service centre owner... So is this normal... they dont have the test ride bike so they take the bike from the owners house so i can ride it....

Then it could be normal and you need a generous owners who can let you ride his bike.

I completely agree with you. Every bike has its issues. As a rider, we have to decide which ones are worth living with and decide the bike accordingly.

Upright riding posture is actually very good for touring. All Adventure-Tourer motorcycles designed across the world are made to have this upright-riding position (the one you are calling straight-seating). All commuter bikes and all standard bikes have same posture because it is the most comfortable posture for riding.

I have been following this forum regularly and wanted to book the bike this month. But after reading about the engine issue, I'm concerned. I want to know weather the issues mentioned in this forum will affect bike's performance or engine in the long run or can it be ignored? Any suggestion? Thanks

PS: FZ 25 or Duke 200? Need good mileage for daily commute, affordable maintenance cost and long term reliability.

Just got back to Pune from Mumbai on the old Highway. Bike was a joy to ride.

Can confirm tyre hugger is useless. I could feel a spray on the back of my neck at 60kmh plus.

                          Getting rid of it asap.

Yes. This. Can't hear the noise with my SMK Twister helmet. Just the lovely exhaust bass.
