  • Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences

Went in for the service. Service cost me Rs 1131 for 4 things which are invoiced in the first service
    1. Oil Change
    2. Oil Filter Replacement
    3. Chain Cleaning
    4. Chain Lubing

Although apart from the things various other parts were also touched upon:-

    1. Air filter Box was cleaned. Air filter was extracted and cleaned with an air gun.

    2. All crucial bolts were checked and tightened.

    3. Chain Slack was adjusted.

    4. All surfaces such as the wheel bearings, footrests, steering bearings were lubed.

    5. And finally the wash and polish was done.

The quality of service was very good in my opinion.

Any questions just ask and I'll try to answer.

      Issues i had...

While billing I gave them credit card and I was informed that I'll be charged 2% extra for credit card and 1.5% for debit card respectively. Even though it's illegal to charge extra for customer their attitude and rudeness irked me slightly, I'll be sure to drop an email to yamaha about his matter and will include headlight issue too.
      1. Did you have the chain cleaned AND lubed or only one of those things?

      2. Even i was charged 2% extra for the debit card transaction. Seems so commonplace that i dont even care now...

I get some really bad vibrations from the headlight unit (I think) when I'm accelerating gradually at around 5000rpm. Bothers me a lot. I read that some of you have it too. What can be done?

              hey guys! hope all good.

Any news on when the ABS version will be out?
hows the bike selling? bike seems to be good, but in case it doesn't sell much support might be an issue, and also how much do we end up paying per service? excluding free service approx?

The chain lube is free. They just added labour of it. Total cost including chain lubrication and cleaning is 1035₹

Me too. I'm trying to design a clamp like structure to hold headlight firmly to the forks. Will update on that soon.

An Abs version of FZ25 was spotted in Brazil, no conformation in India. Actually if you use both brakes simultaneously you'll feel like there is no need for abs.

For the first service I paid 1035₹. And for paid service it depends on what level your bike has been abused. It might cost 2000₹ to 4000₹ or even more.

Even I used to get a sound above 4k RPM, from beneath the Speedo console to be precise. The sound used to be something like a loose plastic/rubber vibrating. Not sure whether you're facing the same issue. Also there were other reports of noise emerging from headlamp zone and they were corrected during 1st SVC. I too complained during the 1st service and fortunately it was corrected. Since multiple sources of sound are reported, I suggest you take the bike to SVC guys for they help you as they'll be in a better position to narrow down the root cause.

                  Cheers!

Amount of oil is mentioned in the manual. Technician quoted me an amount of 1.45 L.

Oil filter cost me Rs 250. They had an oil filter kept in their display case which cost 40 bucks but when i enquired, they said that the bike uses a specialised filter which is a bit more expensive.

I don't know the cost of oil filter.
