This is a common occurrence after getting your bike water washed. As some water gets splashed in the keyhole and rinses away the lubricant. Making it hard for the key to be inserted/removed and turning the ignition on/off.
A simple fix is to spray some WD-40 around the key-hole's rim and the center part, and turn the key on-off a few times so it is spreading evenly .(Wipe off the excess with a clean cloth so your console/lockset doesn't attract dust)
You can also use some domestic cooking oil, chain-lube in place of WD 40. As long as it stays and lubricates the lock-set, key operation will be smooth.
Relax, nothing is wrong with your bike. Try the above method and see for yourself.

They do tappet adjustment only when they are making sound. Get it checked & done.Originally posted by jatinkmr911 View PostHey guys im finding some issues in my FZ25 that need some help in resolving. It would be nice to have some input from you guys as well as warn you of potential problems that can happen to your bike
Your mech has tighten the chain but used only left adjuster. I guess both sides are not done correctly and wheel is misaligned that's why you hearing noises and jam wheel. Check the mark on both sides and adjust if required. Read owner book.| SOL 68s | Rynox Tornado Pro | Rynox Advento | Cramster TRG2 | Scoyco MC20 | Hero 5 and SJ6 |

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Got the bike from the SVC. Problem is still there. Add to it is the fact that when bike is properly heated up the sound is extremely loud now. I can hear it distinctly in my helmet.
SVC tech said that it is the sound of the injector firing. He said that they did open the valve cover and set the Valve clearance and both the valves are now under spec. Although i doubt it since it feels and sounds the same.
And i don't know but i can also feel some sort of power loss as well.
Purchasing this bike seems like a bad decision now. Should have gone for the Dominar.

Your problem should be with tappet sound only. Check with other SVC, also send a mail to Yamaha India.Originally posted by jatinkmr911 View PostGot the bike from the SVC. Problem is still there. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Tbh for me it sounds like it could be anything, from tappet sound to a bad tensioner/loose cam chain or even a bad cam chain. All sound really the same. SVC tech did say that he opened the covers and set the valve clearance so it has to be a loose cam chain.Originally posted by enabeelahmed7 View PostYour problem should be with tappet sound only. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I've the same exact issue and checked with SVC, they tried to convince me saying it's normal on a 250cc because of power and bla bla..., I was adamant and spoke to SVC manager, he suspected it could be due to tensioner and not tappet (as per him if tappet issue it starts from idle, but mine starts ~4.5k rpm in any gear), he agreed to replace tensioner and check for any other issues. Getting it done on Monday/Tuesday, will update.Originally posted by jatinkmr911 View PostTbh for me it sounds like it could be anything, from tappet sound to a bad tensioner/loose cam chain or even a bad cam chain. Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I have this too. Just ignoring it for now. My Impulse has it too so quite used to the noise. Would be ideal if it could be fixed though.Originally posted by jatinkmr911 View PostBtw this is the coin rattle/ticking/clicking sound that I'm facing, can anyone corroborate that it is the tappet sound or something else?

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
A new engine is not supposed to make any weird sounds. Plus this sh*t's psychological. From the time i last heard the sound, the new bike feel has essentially gone. I used to baby it, but since i heard the sound I've been ragging on it even more although i shouldn't. Its like the bike doesn't feel new anymore. It's rough at high RPM and doesn't sound smooth at all.Originally posted by Ajax View PostI have this too. Just ignoring it for now. My Impulse has it too so quite used to the noise. Plus if it's already making stupid sounds at 1400 kms then it's not a new bike anymore.
I will not ignore it. I will get the problem fixed. I'm OCD like that [emoji28]

The demo unit with my local dealer also produces that coin rattle even though the bike has only 18km on the odo.
