Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
of course there are negatives. both bikes are same price. if all fz had was positives over r15, it would be priced much higher.Originally posted by Ayyachamy View PostI too want to move to FZ25 from R15. Is it all plus points only ? Any negatives or compromises when we come from R15 ?
positives of r15 would be refinement and handling. r15 you can say is benchmark in terms of refinement and quality. fz is middle of the road.
handling fz is good but you cant lean as hard on it. also cause front end feel on fz not so good, you have to feed revs carefully when leaned over. on r15 you can whack throttle open even when fully leaned especially if you have stock mrf tires.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Well if price are same for 150cc and 250cc that doesn't mean 250cc has more negatives and compromise. R15 is totally different segment machine compared to fz25.Originally posted by VaibhavPisal View Postof course there are negatives. both bikes are same price. if all fz had was positives over r15, it would be priced much higher.

If there were no liquid cooling, aerodynamically tested body panels, diasil cylinders etc etc then it would cost not more than 1 lac.
In the same way if fz25 would have got same features of R15 then it would cost way more than R15.
You are comparing a 21 year boy with 30 year old MAN.☺😃

poster was asking if fz has any negatives at all vs r15 so i replied in that way.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostWell if price are same for 150cc and 250cc that doesn't mean 250cc has more negatives and compromise. R15 is totally different segment machine compared to fz25.

fz is a bike with much wider appeal. its quality is still great. also it handles good enough to satisfy most riders out there. has extra power which all of us can appreciate without too much loss of economy. you can tour on it more comfortably.
r15 is more of a niche bike and is meant for those who want no compromise handling. those who wish to learn how to do and enjoy sport riding.

Mandar please read the post by ankit about the actual problem which is resolved now, thanks. Yamaha service is not like RE they actually resolve the problems.Originally posted by Mandar_C500 View Postrumors.....??
rumors = a currently circulating story or report of uncertain or doubtful truth
so this is not a rumor but the fact reported by few peoples with pictures....
do you mean the oil is from starter motor, if yes then le me tell you starter motors run dry, there is no oil in it.

Good to know. Happy riding now.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostGuys done with repair job-
1. Bike was washed thoroughly.
2. Starter motor oil seal changed along with a copper color washer which was also damaged.
3. Tappet has been adjusted, now engine is smoother than before.
4. Headlight beam has been adjusted.
Service center manager was telling that Yamaha is very serious with fz25, two people from yamaha came to service center and took my feedback. They will enquire with dealer as well as R&D why this happened and promised me to share their report.
Overall SC were trying to give me VIP treatment.
So when are u taking the tuning fork sir.Originally posted by Mandar_C500 View PostGood to see that Yamaha is taking customer issues seriously. This is good for customers and for the company in long term.

Fz cons compared to R15.Originally posted by Ayyachamy View PostI too want to move to FZ25 from R15. Is it all plus points only ? Any negatives or compromises when we come from R15 ?
- High end refinement is not as par.
- You get a similar top speed on both bike but in fz you reach in quick time.
- the aerodynamics is the key in R15.
- the torque is the key in fz25.
- Load carrying capability is excellent in fz25, Far better than Enfields. You can compare with a Mojo in 0-100.
- Wind protection is an issue in Fz25.
- Aux light set up is needed in Fz.
