I still feel RE has a lot to do with quality and reliability considering the amount that we are spending on it.Originally posted by VaibhavPisal View PostMandar ji if you are still thinking about himalyan you are royal enfield guy through and through.

If one is fine with visits to Mechancis/SVC or doesn't mind having grease and oil all over then it might be a good proposition.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello everyone. I own a white FZ 25 since a month. Would like to share my experience so far. I run exclusively in the city (Bangalore) but on more open roads (outer ring road) with some spots of heavy traffic. This is pretty much 7 days a week. Was looking for a commuter which is powerful enough and mainly reliable for a long time. I used and still run a Suzuki Fiero and was looking for something that reliable and low cost to maintain. That machine has run over 2.2 lakh km and is still perfect.
The FZ I got a chance to take apart the body panels and inspect closely. It's made very well and quality of components is very good. The plastics are engineered quite complexly to give rigidity and light weight. Handle bar end weights are rubber mounted. The throttle cable inner wire is coated with something that's self lubricating. Like this many many details all over.
The machine behaves very differently till 1000km and first service. After that it's really smooth. Very mature in handling and precise. To anyone who is considering purchase I urge you to take a test ride on a run in machine. It's seating is a bit high especially the pillion seat so check on that during a test ride.
So far am happy with it. Only wish service experience can be better. Bad servicing can ruin the machine as very precise tolerances maintained throughout. It's very comfortable to ride. First 100kms took some getting used to then it set. The much maligned headlamp is not that bad in my use. No vibration noted on very uneven stretches. Maybe on dark open highways it will be a problem at high speed but none at all in city use.
I installed a crash guard and the skid plate. The skid plate is fixed using the main stand bolts. Have to remove the spring. I also got 3M paint protection film done on all the panels and mud guard , grab handles for 3990 from Mr Venkat Shyam of Auto service. The panels especially the fuel tank sides are prone to getting scratched in parking lots where I go. Quite a good job done by them. I wish I could show pics but the film is very clear and can't be seen unless carefully looked for.
Other than that it's been fill shut it ride it so far. Touch wood it will hold up to expectation. My first Yamaha and quite a happy customer. Thanks to all who contributed productively on this thread and helped in my buying decision.

Can you please share the phone number and exact location from where you got the 3M coatings done?

Is skid plate must and should or it is negligible ?

Hi Anunay,Originally posted by Anunay View PostJust finish with 1350kms of Bangalore -idukki - munnar - Bangalore ride.
Loving every bit of this machine. Odo reads 3400 kms now.
Fuel efficiency was 37kmpl
Average speed 75 kmph
Loved the twisties of idduki. One of the best in India to test your bikes and your leaning angles. And the bike performed with ease on wet and on dry termac it was no less than 390 duke. I could literally knee down with a pillon. And there was enough confidence inspiring torque to let me jumb into next curve.
400 kms of return ride was done at night and there was little complaint of headlight. I could cruise at 80-85 kmph ( I have adjusted the beam throw as per my and pillion weight on bike). My headlight vibration has reduced considerably somehow. But don't know how.
But ohh god! Only if I have a windscreen for my bike. I couldn't find anywhere in Bangalore.
It looks like you guys had a fabulous time!
How would you compare the headlight performance of the FZ25 and the Mojo (power, throw, etc.)? I noticed that there was a red Mojo in the second picture before it was removed.

I don't know who is moderator here and removed my pic with Mojo. Surely he is doing overtime in editing this forum.Originally posted by deebee View PostHi Anunay,

Next time I will try to avoid the words which is not even close to bike.
Mojo also doesn't have good front throw but its wide and manageable. The owner too had complaint about poor beam set up on mojo.

Hi Rajath,
I think the picture is there somewhere earlier in this thread. Will take some if you can't find it. It's well made and so I just put it. Initially it did not feel like there was any way that I could damage the exhaust underneath. But if one hits a sharp hump at speed or with load it will just about scrape. So skid plate is a valuable addition. It's some 400 odd rupees so while fitting the crash guard took this also.

A couple of friends (who are not xbhp members) are interested in the FZ25 and the Mojo, which is why I was asking.
I currently ride an AS200, which I'm not happy with. The FZ25 is tempting, but I'm looking for something with a bit more off-road ability. Guess I just have to wait (the Serow 250, which shares the engine with the FZ25, would be perfect... please, please, Yamaha!)
*I think the photograph was removed because it had a helmet-less pillion rider.

Re: Yamaha FZ 25 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Wait for Honda XRE300 then. Already patented in India. May come this October along with new CBR250rr. Mojo indeed is good finished product along with twin cylinder refinement level. But its slightly overpriced at 2.20 lakh in Bangalore.Originally posted by deebee View PostThanks for the info
