    Hi All,
    A different question ...
Can the gear shifter be replaced with a toe heel shifter?

1st of all, I find toe heel shifter more convenient and also I do not want my shoes to get scrubbed with shifter.
Anybody who has this done with even Fz16 or Fazer will also be helpful.

    Thanks
    JLS

Fuel injected bikes don't come with reserve knob as carburetted bikes. If your FI bike stops without fuel, it means you haven't kept tab on the fuel indicator on the gauge. The only measure you can use is your fuel level indicator. Different bikes have different indication. For some bikes when the fuel level is drastically low, the last bar blinks or the entire segment flashes or they display low fuel. Always keep a tab, when you hit the last bar.

You can use shift sock, it's a rubbery plastic combination L shaped cover that goes over the shifter. This prevents the blackening and scuffing of shoes. These are available online for a mere 50 to 150~ depending on the seller.

        Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

        THE END

            Hello Riders,

Did we already discuss about the following video?

This shows the keys of a FZ25 and a FZ16 can be swapped. Scary indeed, looks genuine but. Did anyone get a response from SVCS about this?

Guys, thanks for your suggestion and I will consider it.
However, I want to know whether it is possible to replace the shifter with the toe heel shifter?
Way back I had visited Honda dealership for taking their Honda150 cc bike ( dazzler may be) and was not comfortable with toe shifter, the dealership manager promptly said that Unicorn toe-heel shifter can be a ready replacement without any hassle.
Am looking forward to any input where in some such replacement have been made.
I am planning to return to biking after a long gap and am looking for convenience of toe-heel shifter...

              Thanks

Also, I heard some chi-chi sound from brakes when I was slowing down bike from around 40-45 kmph. I was using both the brakes. What could be the possible problem? I hear the sound on 4-5 occasions.
Ive had the same problem but with my bike there was a more violent sound and increased vibrations, at first i mistook it for a tappet sound and visited the svc they coudnt find out the problem later i checked in with the dealer and yamaha officials were called in to check the issue later the problem was found to be with the crankcase cover (it was a faulty component) atleast thats what they said . my bike has been dropped at the svc for three days still havent got it back after repairs im awaiting delivery after repairs tommorow.

Today had 1 hr/ 55 km ride in evening on straight roads with varying speed and changing gears. Max speed i shot at 80kmph for a second. Odo is 375 kms. Few obsevations-

                    1. After 40 minutes of ride i felt engine heat and stress so I stopped for 5 minutes to cool down after that again engine felt peppy.
                    2. There is little vibration creeping on footrest and rear beake padel @ 59-65 kmph.
                    3. Tappet kit kit sound is there in whole rpm band on accelerating as well as slowing down. There is strange rattling from engine exactly at 4200 rpm.
                    4. Headlight beam is like chinese led torch, absolutely useless. I will write to yamaha to do something about HL as it is too dangerous to ride above 50kmph in night. HL is really a flaw and users have to pressurise yamaha to change faulty design because it is the matter of safety.
                    5. My body started to adapt riding position so no discomfort today after riding 50kms.
                    6. Handling is spot on, i can change directions frequently with lot of confidence.

Is this after getting the headlight beam adjusted/lifted manually (or) factory setting?

Even i can hear metal vibrating sound from engine as it's new bike I won't worry till I cross 1000km on odo

                          1.Engine has got smooth.
2.Gear shift are some what okay now but it should get more smooth.
                          3. I feel fuel indicator is not accurate it shows less . Today I got petrol filled for 500rs I could see the petrol near tank throat.
                          4. Mileage you can expect 40 in city (am getting 40 in Mysore traffic)
5.mirror are okay it's not bad like what others say. Adjust them before you ride .

I have sent a mail to yamaha care about the headlamps and I wish every owner does it. Because they called me and told that there is no issue of headlight beam/vibration reported till now by any owners.

the honda 150's can be retro fitted with a compatible heel-toe shifter.
on the fz25, it may not be a simple plug and play. you might have to get something custom made since the footrest comes in the way.. maybe something like this:
