Not necessary, remove brakes and then remove top surface of brake pads with help of a metal file/sand paper. Just make sure that wear on pad is even

Theoretically speaking if there is diesel on brake pads(non organic type), it should dissipate itself due to friction and heat generated during braking.

Guys my friend is getting a cyan fz25 which has run around 3000kms and getting it for 95k is it a good deal? What all should he look at before buying it?

Once i accidentally sprayed alternative of wd40 and same thing happened. Washed disc 2-3 times with dish washer soap and scrubber but no help. Then opened the pads and washed the same way, slightly better but still not better.

At last cleaned the disc & pads again with petrol. The bite is full back!

If you open the pads, apply caliper grease between pads and piston otherwise you will get squeaking noise. You can get grease from Maruti svc.

Few inputs after completing another short trip:

            1. Completed using Motul 7100 FS for more than 1000kms now. As of now no problems are experienced. it's only like post 3k rpm or rather around 4 to 5k rpm I hear a different engine sound. I went to Yamaha SC. They have confirmed me that Motul 7100 10w40 (FS) is perfect for FZ25 and there is no harm in using it. I have also asked if using any lube oil other than Yamaha may harm the warranty. They have replied a dead no. They showed me that there are users who use Motul and that has been filled at there stations.

            2. Those who are creeping on braking, I would like to share an experience of mine. Day before yesterday I had an accident. I was coming back to Mumbai using NH48, somewhere in a bridge A Verna in front of me made a dead stop. I was riding at a speed of 110kmph. I manged to slow down while using both brakes and braked really hard. I have however rear ended the Verna but then the bike left almost scratch less and braking was good enough that the bike came to halt with a stoppie. Though I have rear ended the Verna the impact was minimal due to good braking.

            3. The bike is really good. And the parts even though pointed out as flimsy, post my experience I will say they are really durable.
I went skidding along with the bike. The side panels are sturdy even though they seem not to be. As soon as I went down on the tarmac my first thought was I'd have to claim insurance. Buy that wasn't so. Getting a new handle bar and and the forks aligned

Yea petrol would be very good, at least in my case. I soaked petrol in cotton and cleaned disc from both sides. Also i slightly sand it as optional, not much. But without opening pads it doesn't work for me. I too ignored it at first but i had to open. Its very easy to remove. You need only 10mm & 12mm socket wrench to open front caliper. There is video on YouTube. Doing on rear is bit tough task but i did. Rear disk pads pins require 5mm allen key to open. For front its straight forward, remove pin and pull out.

Same!! After 15 days of 2nd service, brakes are very less compared to pre service. Even rubbed the rotor with cotton cloth various time but no gain.

Just check the pad condition as most of the people are experiencing excessive wear of pads ... i use brakes in the ratio of 40:60 60 percent in the back and 40 percent in the front. Even then its not standing up ... please dont allow it to eat up the rotor its much costlier than replacing the pads.

I dont think there is any straight fit here, best would be going for aux lights.
I don't understand "Wash away". Are you saying that LED is better than halogen or vice versa? I don't think I'll be able to put higher wattage LED or LED with higher lumens, cause the battery is already poor in the bike and I don't think it would be able to handle. So I thought of changing the LED of same wattage to Halogen. Well, would the halogen be brighter?

                        Hello everyone.

I'm new to xbhp, so please bear with me if I happen to make some mistake.

I received my fz25 today. The showroom guys handed it to me without the registration, and hence without the owner's manual. After about 30kms I noticed the yellow light on the bottom left of the display (below neutral signal) is lit, and I'm not sure if it's the engine light or something else.

Can anyone identify the issue for me? Is it something I need to be worried about?

                          Congratulations on your new ride.

I regret to say but that yellow light below neutral is called “Check engine light”. It indicates that basically there is something wrong wrt normal functionality, I suggest you to get back to showroom ASAP.

Also, the odometer and the speedometer doesn't work. They said they'll switch those on once the registration is done. Is it normal practice or are they having me on?

I got mine without registration done, I told the PDI guy to get the Odo and Speedo connected and he confirmed that he didn't touch them. So it's not normal practice in my view. The bike is not new in the market any more to claim that they are waiting for RTO approval.

If possible ask your pillion friend to click the pic of yellow light (engine check) while riding (assuming that you are not motovloger as most of guys are these days😊) for future fight with svc and yamaha. Go directly to svc and let them opem job card for this mentioning exact issue.
